Your role will be to provide tailored accommodation support to women under probation supervision in the community, helping them to find and keep a home and reintegrate into their local communities. The caseload will fluctuate and service users levels of need will vary.

About You

You will have considerable experience and knowledge of housing law, debt advice and the main issues relating to homelessness and criminal justice for women with multiple and complex needs. You have experience of delivering services for women, advocacy to external stakeholders on behalf of clients, managing caseload and ideally, working in a criminal justice setting.

Our Someone Like Me peer support service ensures nobody has to face breast cancer alone. We match people affected by primary breast cancer, as well as their family and friends and those who have inherited an increased genetic risk of developing the disease, with a trained volunteer who’s had a similar experience and can offer support by telephone or email.

In this role, you’ll contribute to service delivery through sensitively and efficiently arranging Someone Like Me calls, whilst working with the Services Manager, Someone Like Me, to coordinate day-to-day management of the service. This will include managing a small number of staff members. You’ll also be involved in organising the recruitment, training, and support of volunteers involved in the delivery of the service.

About you

You’ll be passionate about supporting people affected by breast cancer and helping us to improve the support we provide.

You’ll combine excellent organisational, prioritising and communication skills with the ability to work well with people who may be experiencing high levels of distress. The Chief Operating Officer (COO) will be a key member of HCPT’s Senior Leadership Team, responsible for the effective delivery and high performance of all operational and business support aspects of the charity’s work. This includes oversight of the quality and efficiency aspects of all that we do in planning and execution of pilgrimages, safeguarding, compliance, finance, HR, and infrastructure. The COO will ensure that HCPT’s operations are safe, efficient, and aligned with our Catholic ethos and mission of inclusion and care, and that our performance is optimised to deliver excellence, which is:  THE BEST pilgrimage experience we can offer as defined and measured by our beneficiaries and volunteers.

This is a senior role in volunteer-led organisation and as such the successful postholder will be required to exercise flexibility with evening and weekend work to meet the business needs of the charity, given the availability of our volunteer leaders who have professional commitments during the day.

Our Membership Engagement Team provide support, advice and guidance to ensure that our members can continue to be the force for good in their communities. Through strong relationships, the team facilitates the sharing of great practice and ensure that the membership remain compliant. The Membership Engagement Officers (MEOs) are actively engaged within their areas, meeting Branch members, supporting their activities and building a stronger membership fit for the next 100 years.

The Membership Engagement Officer (MEO) is a key role which inspires and engages our membership to be active and fulfil their role and purpose while remaining compliant with the Legion’s Membership handbook and policies. Every day will be different as this role will see you responding to the needs of the individual county of responsibility. It is a challenging and exciting post where no two days will be the same.

You will provide organisational support, advice and information to our members, and work closely with County Committees, the membership central team staff and other departments.  This a varied role which covers a range of duties from connecting and building relationships with Branches to compliance oversight and responding to membership queries.

You will be contracted to your home address. You will be expected to work both there and on a mobile basis at other locations in Devon and the Southwest Region with occasional travel (incl. for monthly team meetings) beyond this area.

This role is a Fixed Term Contract covering internal secondment, until July 2026.

Some evening and weekend work will be required, including an occasional requirement for some overnight stays.

The successful individual is not permitted to hold a membership officer role in their designated area of work and must hold a full UK driving licence.

Given the responsibilities associated with the role, it is a requirement that you live within reasonable distance of the designated area of responsibility.
