The landscape for people experiencing homelessness is becoming more challenging and demand is increasing. We are recruiting for Generalist Tutor/Lead Worker as part of our Learning service.

About the role
Crisis is recruiting for a Generalist Tutor to deliver engaging and varied programmes for our clients across Newcastle and the northeast.
We currently have a varied learning programme that supports our clients in developing skills and improving well-being across a range of subjects. Our learning offer is an integral component of our service and our ‘Model of Change’ and should be considered holistically when working with members to improve their overall quality of life.
As a Generalist Tutor you will delivering to groups and on a one-to-one basis. Alongside this you will be a Lead Worker for a small caseload of members where you will review plans developed to address and overcome barriers to find and secure sustainable and affordable housing.
About you
Are you a dynamic individual who can teach a range of subjects? We are looking for someone who is versatile, motivational and dedicated to teaching and supporting our clients to end their homelessness sustainably.
You should be a confident and competent session facilitator who has experience of devising and delivering courses or training. You will need to be a passionate and engaging individual who can enthuse and spark the interests of clients from a range of backgrounds and with varying experiences of education and potential barriers to learning.
You will be passionate about learning and education and be able to will have the ability to deliver and cover subjects such as but not exclusive to:
- Physical health and well-being
- Basic English, ESOL and Communication
- Digital Inclusion and navigating systems
- Life Skills & Personal Development
You will have experience and knowledge in developing focused plans alongside your members and create a collaborative set of actions to achieve their goals.
You should have experience in successfully connecting people to community groups and agencies to ensure opportunities are sought, developed and maximised to achieve the best outcomes for members.
You will need to align with our organisational values that hold us accountable in assisting our members to improve and relieve their homelessness and demonstrate this through your work and behaviours.
