About the role
As a Sewing for Wellbeing Tutor, you will be creating, planning, and delivering fun, exciting workshops, courses, and projects, and inspiring our adult members in engaging and inclusive ways. If you are a compassionate, creative, collaborative sewing or textiles tutor artist who is just waiting to share your amazing range of sewing techniques and skills with our members, and confident in teaching machine and hand sewing skills, we would love to hear from you!
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:

Understanding of the needs, issues and sensitivities of supporting people facing homelessness and other forms of social exclusion and develop practical solutions to address them.

Understanding of psychologically informed approaches when working with people who have experienced complex trauma from marginalised backgrounds.

Experience of delivering sewing sessions, workshops, and creative projects with personalised outcomes to support people to gain new skills and self-confidence.

Knowledge of and skills in of a wide variety of sewing skills and techniques, including hand and machine sewing; and for example, surface decoration, item personalisation; embroidery, patchwork, embellishments; recycling old fabrics into something new; repairing and mending; clothes making; homeware etc, to help people learn, progress and improve their wellbeing.

· A teaching qualification or be able to demonstrate delivering in a community-based setting.

You may have experience in; Art therapy; Safeguarding; Mental health first aid; Community arts practice.

About the team
Shelter’s HR Delivery team is part of a Strategic Enablement directorate that brings together core support functions such as HR Delivery, Finance, Tech & Data, Governance, Planning and Property. Our role is to partner, support and advise over 1,300 staff on employee relations issues. We also manage restructures and transfers, employee engagement, reward and recognition, staff development and resourcing and payroll processes and ensure effective HR policies and procedures are developed and evaluated.
About the role
As an HR Services Administrator we’ll rely on you to help the team to deliver a great customer service experience and provide administrative support on HR and Payroll matters to internal and external customers alike. You’ll be a key member of the team that’s the first point of contact with HR via our HR enquiries service desk and phoneline, supports employee lifecycle administration and works closely with the payroll team to ensure delivery against key payroll timescales. Answering queries and signposting to the right answers, keeping our Intranet HR Hub up to date with our policies, completing any contracts and other activity associated with changes as notified by Line Managers and processing data within our HR Information System (we use Access PeopleXD) – all are aspects of this interesting and varied role.
About you
Already with some relevant experience (ideally HR, but we’ll consider other administrative experience too) you have a real commitment to continuous professional development and want to develop your skills and knowledge within the HR area. You’re also motivated to deliver excellence in what you do within a team of like-minded colleagues who are dedicated to providing a timely and excellent people first focused service. Highly organised, with meticulous attention to detail, you have what it takes to manage different workstreams in a fast-paced environment, often with conflicting priorities. Last but not least, you have good office IT skills, including a good working knowledge of Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

They will be able to inspire and motivate a diverse community of stakeholders and partners from the public, private and third sectors to deliver a shared action plan that will put their location on a trajectory to end homelessness.

- Develop an ambitious, actionable plan, aligning it with program goals and supporting local stakeholders.
- Guide the coalition in designing and implementing projects from the action plan, while maintaining an overview.

About the role
A key member of our in-house development team and reporting to a Senior Front End Developer, you’ll get to work closely with QA Engineers, Product Managers and other disciplines within the team to get products built, deliver data to drive iterations and realise the potential of Jamstack technologies available to us. You will take part in regular code reviews and contribute to our pattern library for use by in-house and external developers, all the while keeping up to date with emerging technology trends and latest developments in web standards, sharing your knowledge with the team.
About you
You’ll need strong communication and collaboration skills to allow you to interact with technical team members and non-technical stakeholders alike. You’ll also need experience of working with JavaScript, React, HTML and CSS and a knowledge of the principles and standards of user-centred design. About the Team
Our three Communities Teams are responsible for identifying, investigating and intervening in housing and homelessness practice issues. We engage with our local communities to understand the issues people are facing and apply expert housing knowledge, insight and analysis to identify solutions to them. As well as providing advice and advocacy for individuals, we also use our insight, relationships and influence to drive systemic change, always ensuring that Lived experience is at the heart of everything we do.
About the role
As a Housing Rights Worker, you’ll be responsible for delivering high quality housing advice and advocacy in our offices, in community settings and remotely in line with local pressing issues. That will involve developing relationships within communities through a range of interactions, including delivering housing rights workshops. It will also involve engaging, enabling and empowering people with lived experience of homelessness to share their story, give their views and participate in interventions at a local and national level. Influencing a range of stakeholders and decision makers across the housing sector will be important too. And, when it comes to harnessing strong relationships with external partners or recording stories, data and evidence to develop insight that helps us drive systems change, again, well count on you.
About you
Already with some relevant experience, you’re used to working with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, have great time management skills and enjoy collaborating with people from other teams and organisations. The ability to listen to, engage and empower individuals and communities will be key. So will your willingness to challenge practice and hold people to account – including influencing decision makers. Adept at presenting information and arguments in clear and compelling ways, you have a real enthusiasm for delivering workshops and presentations too. What’s more, you’re a creative problem solver with an innate ability to gather evidence and identify insights, issues and trends and are proficient using Word, Excel, email, the internet and in-house CRM systems.

The young people we support in this service are amazing, they are courageous, determined, and brave. As Community & Events Team Coordinator, you will be the first point of contact for a range of community fundraisers and eventers, providing an exceptional supporter journey. Your role will include supporting the team on projects such as TCS London Marathon, London Landmarks Half Marathon and our flagship event, Icebreaker, gathering valuable supporter insight to grow our portfolio. You will work closely with the Data Imports and Finance team to coordinate income, event administration and reporting to ensure accurate and up to date records.

New Horizon provides a range of Youth Work opportunities for young people experiencing homelessness. One stream of work is our Jobs, Education and Training (JET) team. The JET team support with young people to support them into meaningful and appropriate employment, training opportunities, apprenticeships, volunteering, and education.
In this role, you will work with young people 1-1, holding small caseloads, as well as working with young people in groups and delivering employment or education-focussed sessions on a regular basis.
As part of our service, we also aim to deliver a weekly group conversation class for young people looking to improve their spoken English, many of whom are young refugees and asylum seekers. While you will work with all young people in the service and support regularly with our day centre delivery, this role will focus on expanding our JET service to young refugees and asylum seekers, developing specialist networks and partnerships, and pathways to appropriate opportunities.

New Horizon provides a range of Youth Work opportunities for young people experiencing homelessness. One stream of work is our Jobs, Education and Training (JET) team. The JET team support with young people to support them into meaningful and appropriate employment, training opportunities, apprenticeships, volunteering, and education.
In this role, you will work with young people 1-1, holding small caseloads, as well as working with young people in groups and delivering employment or education-focussed sessions on a regular basis. You will also source and develop partnerships to create appropriate routes into employment and training opportunities. Alongside this, you will regularly support with delivery in our day-centre and will need to be able to work with young people from a range of backgrounds.
