About the role
Hither Green Service (Spring Gardens and Hilda House) is a busy, flagship service which provides you with the opportunity to join a specialised and committed team using a trauma-informed approach, supporting 68, multiple excluded, highly vulnerable adults with complex needs in Lewisham.
We are looking for someone to join our team as a Support Worker (known internally as a Project Worker). In this vital role you will:
- Work together with clients to identify their personal aims and ambitions and support them towards achieving them.
- Respond to incident and crises as a team in a way that maximises safety and wellbeing.
- Provide practical and personal support to clients in an approachable, caring and person centred way.
- Work as part of a dedicated team in an accommodation setting to provide a high quality, positive and safe service to clients.
- Keep up to date administrative records relating to client work, housing management and health and safety.
- Work on the weekly shift rota that includes early and late shifts as well as some weekends and bank holidays.
About you
To succeed in these highly rewarding role you will have;
- An understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerably housed people – you may have had personal experience of homelessness yourself.
- Experience of helping vulnerable people to identify personal goals and supporting them through a process of change.
- A sound understanding of the support needs of people with low incomes, including rent payments/arrears and professional boundary issues.
- Good interpersonal and listening skills, in order to be able to establish an effective working relationship with clients and an eagerness to learn and work with clients in a holistic and person-centred approach.
- The ability to support colleagues in diffusing difficult or dangerous situations and to summon outside assistance when necessary.
- The skills to challenge disruptive or unacceptable behaviour in a sympathetic and assertive way, balancing the needs of the individual with responsibilities for the safety of the service.

Working as an Assistant Night Support Worker you will provide a first point of contact to clients at night; being responsible for:
- Dealing with emergencies, undertaking regular wellbeing checks, monitoring the CCTV system for incidents and health and safety concerns.
- Working with the shift lead you will be responsible for undertaking tasks on the night shift task list and supporting the day team with client interventions handed over.
- Reporting incidents or maintenance issues and communicating concerns or events to the rest of the team.
We are looking for a full-time position although we are happy to consider applications from those looking to work part-time.
About you
You will be able to communicate in a sensitive, assertive and nuanced manner that builds trust and effective working relationships with residents who are experiencing issues including substance and alcohol addiction, poor mental health, offending behaviour and histories of abuse.

The purpose of this role is to ensure we provide a safe and healthy environment for our clients to live in. Duties will include maintaining the cleanliness of the communal areas, including kitchens or bathrooms, as well as supporting the team in cleaning clients’ rooms when they have moved out.
In this role you will:
- Provide cleaning to all communal areas of the building including some bedrooms and bathrooms.
- Complete regular inventories of cleaning stock and inform management of when items are running low so that they can be ordered.
- Pass on communal repairs to the Housing management team.
- Work on a rota, carrying out regular shifts including weekends.
- Work to a cleaning schedule to ensure all parts of the building are cleaned on a regular basis.
About you
To succeed in this role, you will have;
- A good working knowledge of Health and Safety.
- A basic knowledge of IT and be comfortable working alone.
- Possess effective communication skills.
- Approach your work and clients in a non-judgemental way including those displaying challenging behaviour.

The team deliver a range of services, including training on housing and homelessness prevention, housing law consultancy, online resources and projects to support professionals working directly with people at risk of homelessness to get positive outcomes. Knowledge is power and we run over 1,600 training courses that attract 40,000 delegates each year. About the role
We have an exciting opportunity to join our Edinburgh Skylight as a Receptionist/Administrator in our Edinburgh Skylight Team. You will be there to welcome people who are homeless seeking advice and start the process of helping them to end their homelessness.
You will support the team to manage a busy working environment, welcoming and supporting a range of people including new Skylight members, current members, staff, Crisis volunteers and visitors. You will provide administrative support for this fast and responsive service to those newly presenting as homeless. You will also carry out administration and housekeeping functions relating to the customer service and facilities management of Cranston House. This role is based onsite with no option for homeworking.
About you
To be successful in this role you will be highly organised with experience of working within a reception or administrative support role, as well as experience providing a high standard of customer service. We are looking for someone who understands the issues faced by homeless people and is excited to learn about the ways we can support them. You will be able to deal with challenging situations and individuals with a range of needs, to reach a positive resolution through a calm and confident approach.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to work successfully with disadvantaged or socially excluded groups and individuals. Effective communication skills, both verbal and written will be key, as well as working collaboratively within a team. As you will be the first point of contact for many people, you need to be friendly, enjoy helping and be willing to learn about Crisis and all the other activities taking place within the building.

About the role
We are looking for Night Worker to join our excellent team in Hounslow. As the successful candidate you will have a passion for supporting some of the most vulnerable individuals in the borough, supporting residents around their strengths and aspirations.
The Hounslow LIFE service is a large multi-site service that has a staff team of 32 supporting 86 clients, covering specialisms such as Homelessness, Substance Use and Mental Health.
In the role of Night Worker, you will be working with our clients on their road to recovery, aiding clients to gain the necessary skills to move on from our services and into suitable accommodation. You will assist staff on site with supporting clients, completing H&S tasks, responding to and completing incident reports, and ensuring that clients within the building are safe. You will also have some housing management responsibilities as part of ensuring we deliver safe, high-quality services.
Working in our Forbes House complex needs hostel, you will be part of a team providing 24hr support to 22 clients at the start of their journey with us, supporting them towards greater independence. This role involves working night shifts between the hours of 21:30 – 08:15. This will also include some weekends and bank holidays, and the role will be service based with no home working.
About you

Are you interested in supporting people at immediate risk of rough sleeping and making a real difference to the lives of people experiencing homelessness in Bristol?
The Bristol Rough Sleeping Prevention Service provides a rapid response service, intervening to ensure no one needs to sleep rough. Our work is ongoing, and we are currently looking for someone to join our dedicated team as an Assessment and Reconnection Worker where no two days are the same.
In this role you will utilise your language skills to work closely with non UK Nationals affected by rough sleeping, and carry out comprehensive assessments of people new to, or at risk of rough sleeping who may not have recourse to public funds. Additionally, you will:
- Provide a personalised case management service to clients, turning assessment recommendations into practical action plans which fully involves the client.
- Build and maintain effective relationships to support clients throughout their recovery.
- Work closely with external agencies to ensure all clients’ needs are met. Many of our clients have multiple support needs. This may include complex trauma, substance misuse and mental and physical health support needs.
- Develop a knowledge of relevant legislation such as, immigration, welfare benefit and housing legislation.
- While your usual working hours will be from Monday to Friday, 9am-5pm, occasional work on weekends and early or late hours may occur in response to challenging situations and to prevent rough sleeping.
About you
This role will suit people with experience of working at pace in a public facing environment with the ability to adapt to new situations. We encourage you to apply if you can demonstrate:
- Some understanding of the issues faced by homeless or vulnerable people and the difficulties they experience in accessing services.
- Good communication skills and the ability to work with others whilst managing your own time.
- The ability to manage complex behaviours and to deal with people who may be in a difficult personal or emotional situation.
- The ability to empower individuals to make positive changes and a willingness to develop these valuable skills.
- Above all we are looking for inspirational, committed individuals who have a genuine desire to support people to rebuild their lives in these key roles; many of our managers began their careers as an Assessment and Reconnection Worker.
For our non-UK National specialist role 1 or more of the following language skills will be required: Somali, Farsi, Arabic, Sudanese Arabic, Kurdish, Polish, Romanian.

About the role:
As Senior Outreach Worker, you'll make use of your strong interpersonal skills to connect with individuals from all walks of life. Building trust, assessing needs, and generating creative ideas to steer people away from rough sleeping will be the focus of your role.
Collaboration is key in our team. You'll work together with specialist Navigators, Outreach workers, substance use outreach services, and mental health outreach teams. Plus, you'll be pivotal in forging strong relationships with a range of housing providers in the borough.
To thrive in this role, you'll have knowledge and experience in substance use and recovery, trauma informed practices of working, and the complexities of the homelessness sector.
Your commitment to flexibility will be crucial in providing the support, empowerment, and opportunities needed to guide individuals toward suitable and stable accommodation.
About you:
- You will demonstrate a strong understanding of planned support principles and the ability to assess the needs of those who may be reluctant to engage with services.
- You will know the various barriers faced by people who are sleeping rough and what services are available for those facing multiple disadvantages.
- You will be self-motivating, able to work under pressure, manage your schedule effectively, and able to work flexibly Monday to Friday, at times when rough sleepers are often seen bedded down.
- You will be able and willing to travel across the borough of Redbridge at times when public transport may not be readily available.
- You will have experience of working with clients who have faced multiple disadvantages
- You will be skilled at engaging external partners and agencies to ensure streamlined working and a collaborative approach to supporting rough sleepers
