The Central Service Coordinator will ensure Gaddum delivers its organisational objectives by coordinating efficient and effective Human Resources, People and Central workstreams.  

The successful candidate will be reporting to the Head of Finance and working as part of a small but high performing team: They will be a key reference point for the organisation’s leaders to ensure those they manage have the best possible opportunities to thrive during the course of their employment at Gaddum. 

The postholder will be responsible for overseeing central systems and processes relating to organisation-wide People Services as required by the Senior Leadership Team and Trustee Board.

ABOUT THE ROLE:

As our first in-house resourcing specialist, you'll lead on recruitment, talent management and workforce planning across our expanding, multi-site organisation. You'll also advise on managers on retention and succession planning, working with them to develop strategies to motivate and retain our staff.

LOCATION AND TRANSPORT: You’ll be based mainly in our Hatfield offices but with regular travel to Herts, Beds & Bucks. We’re happy to support home-working for two days per week, perhaps three. You need access to your own vehicle with business insurance (usually a cheap add-on from your insurer).

HOURS: You’ll work 37.5 days per week Monday to Friday. We can consider 30 hours per week (across at least four days) if you would like to work part-time.

ABOUT YOU: We're open-minded about sector, so you may come from a private, public, retail, corporate etc background. What we do need is:

• A passion for making things happen and stories of successes to prove it.
• Evidence of solid business-partnering experience in recruitment, workforce planning and talent management (this could be a generalist HR role but we are open-minded).
• The ability to work on lots of things at once and keep all the plates spinning!
• Strong writing and technical skills, including proficient use of Excel, plus excellent English writing and drafting skills.
• Data protection and basic employment law knowledge (relating to good recruitment practice, e.g. avoiding unlawful discrimination).
• Commitment to equality, equity, diversity, inclusion and belonging in all aspects of resourcing.

The Reward function is responsible for developing and maintaining pay and benefit frameworks to ensure competitiveness and equity, as well as the design and implementation of performance frameworks that encourage retention and reward high performance.

• Lead, support and deliver the design and development of the Reward & Remuneration strategy, ensuring that policy and practice is aligned to the business and people strategies
• Create a total Reward approach, combining a range of different pay and benefits offerings into a flexible framework which meets the diverse needs of employees
• Lead on the implementation of new and existing Reward programmes and initiatives, providing advice and direction to senior management and the People team

About the role

In this varied and rewarding role you will develop and coordinate our team of volunteers and Sessional Workers (zero hours youth workers).  You will be instrumental in defining our volunteer strategy moving forward and identify other participation opportunities such as work experience placements, university placements, internships and apprenticeships.

You will also help develop internal engagement activities and participate in external awareness raising and fundraising activities, to support both volunteering and fundraising.

New Routes Integration

 Since 2003 New Routes has been working with, and supporting, refugees, asylum seekers and isolated migrants in Norwich to support their wellbeing and ambitions by providing skill-building and social programmes in a safe and welcoming environment.
