Supported Accommodation Cleaner
We’re looking for two reliable and organised Supported Accommodation Cleaners to join our Stopover Supported Housing team.
Stopover provides supported accommodation for young women across Brighton & Hove and West Sussex, helping them build the skills, confidence and stability they need to move towards independent living.
As part of our team, you’ll play an important role in making sure our accommodation is clean, safe and welcoming for the young women who live there. You’ll work across our supported housing properties, carrying out regular cleaning as well as scheduled deep cleans and preparing rooms for new residents.
This is a role where you’ll largely manage your own cleaning workload, so we’re looking for someone dependable, well organised and comfortable working independently within a supported housing environment.
You will:
- Carry out regular weekly cleaning across our supported accommodation
- Undertake scheduled deep and cyclical cleaning
- Prepare accommodation to a high standard before it is re-let to a new resident
- Plan and manage your cleaning workload effectively
- Follow appropriate health and safety procedures, including the safe use of cleaning products
We’re looking for someone who can demonstrate:
- Experience of cleaning, ideally within supported housing, social care or a similar environment
- Good organisational skills and the ability to manage your own workload
- An understanding of health and safety when using cleaning products and chemicals
- An understanding of, and empathy for, the needs of young women living in supported accommodation
- A calm and appropriate approach when working in an environment where residents may sometimes present challenging behaviour
An understanding of trauma-informed care would be an advantage. Relevant health and safety training will be provided as required.
