About CAVA

CAVA provides infrastructure support to the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise sector across Warwickshire and Solihull. CAVA also works heavily in partnership with its respective organisations in both Birmingham and Coventry, collaborating across the landscape to reduce inequality. CAVA operates as a Volunteer Centre and delivers projects that support social and community action through the voices and engagement of local people.

CAVA has offices based in Leamington Spa, Nuneaton, Rugby, Stratford-Upon-Avon and a dedicated office space within a shared Community Hub in Solihull.

Area Managers at CAVA

Area Managers work as part of the Senior Management Team and are key ambassadors for the organisation and the wider VCFSE. They provide leadership and accountability for the work of CAVA, overseeing and growing our position and portfolio of work as the VCFSE Infrastructure organisation for both Solihull and Warwickshire. The Area Managers also work in partnership with the Board of Trustees on matters related to strategy and governance.

The Opportunity

The Area Manager will provide management and leadership of CAVA’s Solihull portfolio, which is at an evolving and exciting phase of integration across the Borough.

The Area Manager has a key role in leading and shaping CAVA’s presence in Solihull, working strategically alongside the Board and CAVA’s Senior Management Team, to lead the organisation into its next era of growth and delivery.

The Area Manager has a key role and responsibility representing voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise groups and organisations, providing a strong and confident voice on behalf of the sector as we work alongside partners from the Public, NHS and the wider Integrated Care System (ICS).

The remit provides the successful candidate the opportunity to make a significant impact to reduce inequality within communities by supporting the VCFSE sector and working in a dynamic and collaborative environment, especially through prevention, early intervention and community engagement.

Summary of Key Responsibilities (please see Job Description for full details)

- Leadership and Management of the Solihull programme portfolio (including public sector contract) and CAVA Strategy

- Line Management of a small, focussed team

- Strategy, Planning and Control in line with need, compliance, business planning, lead areas

Prospect Research Officer

The prospect research officer will develop and maintain a healthy prospect pipeline in order to provide the philanthropy team with an appropriate number and quality of qualified prospects across individuals, corporate, and trusts and foundations. The officer will produce insightful background research on current and prospective donors using financial, biographical, corporate and philanthropic information from trusted sources and compliance with GPDR and data protection laws. Reporting to the prospect research manager, they will regularly review the prospect research strategy in response to changing internal requirements.

The selected candidate will have experience with and understanding of the principles of philanthropy, fundraising practices, donor motivations and wealth indicators and will have experience of conducting structure background research on HNWIs, company Directors, and/or family Trust and Foundation Boards. The prospect research manager will be responsible for defining, articulating, implementing and delivering the prospect research strategy. They will line manage two part-time prospect research officers and a part-time prospect research assistant and will ensure the charity builds its prospect pipeline to drive income growth in support of the charity’s strategic priorities. Working collaboratively with the wider team to provide due diligence, the manager will be responsible for fundraising systems and will lead on the charity’s best practice and compliance with fundraising data regulation.

The selected candidate will have significant experience of managing a prospect research function and will have a thorough detailed knowledge of the voluntary sector. You will have excellent research skills in major gifts fundraising with demonstrable experience in identifying and researching prospects at the six and seven figure levels. You will have the ability to interpret financial data and translate that data into actionable insights.

Role Purpose

You will be responsible for building and maintaining partnerships with hyperlocal, local, and national businesses, stewarding the organisations to become Mustard Tree’s partners, and for us to be their ‘Charity of the Year’, donating to and fundraising for the charity.

You will manage an existing caseload of these valued partners, with the opportunity to proactively create new relationships and partnerships, contacting through multiple channels, creating content, and hosting, touring, and presenting to businesses.

In addition to corporate partnerships, you will manage the recruitment and stewardship of Mustard Tree’s events fundraisers, being responsible for the administration, making sure all places are filled, planning the events, and helping all participants hit their fundraising targets.

Main Duties

Corporate Partnership

• Steward a cohort of existing Corporate Partners through email updates, calls, social media activity and booking monthly check-ins, as well as sharing infographics, case studies, events information, and newsletters when useful.
• Proactively build new relationships, ultimately securing new donors, partners, and ‘Charity of the Year’ organisations. Make it clear and easy for donors to understand what we do, how they can help, and the impact they will have.
• Host, tour, or present at a minimum of four organisations per week.
• Manage inquiries, emails, and queries relating to partnerships, corporate donations, volunteering, and events, ensuring timely responses.
• Manage the partnership inbox and work with the Fundraising team on our corporate bookings calendar.
• Work with the Fundraising and Volunteer Coordinator to plan and book Social Value Days for partners and prospective partners.
• Collaborate with the Fundraising and Communications team to develop and publish copy, advertisements, social media content, and create WordPress pages relevant to Corporate Partnership and Events.
• Host Corporate Partners for their volunteering inductions and debriefs and follow up with a thank-you email the same week.
• Manage data entry and administration surrounding partnerships, including communication, contacts, setting targets, and funds raised, through software and our CRM, for example.
• Work with the Fundraising Manager to assign new and existing partners
• Provide weekly updates on targets and expected income, and work to provide accurate forecasting.

Events Fundraising

• Manage our existing events portfolio of The Great Manchester Run, Tough Mudder, Trafford Abseil, October Half Marathon, being responsible for their success.
• Investigate and develop new events to complement our 12-month calendar.
• Empower organisations to plan independent fundraising events and create a fundraising toolkit to support this.
• Support the running of our October Fundraising Dinner
• Work with the Fundraising Manager to project events income and build a 12-month fundraising pipeline.

General Duties

• Supporting the Fundraising Team et al, including administration, cover, and events attendance when required.
• Support the Fundraising & Finance Teams with data entry, CRM updates, and the creation of KPI data when required.
• Work within health & safety guidelines and Mustard Tree policies and procedures.
• Support other staff and departments, occasionally providing practical relief cover for work-streams, operational areas, classes and clubs.

Sight Scotland is Scotland’s leading charity providing specialist care, education and research for people with vision impairment. The Fundraising Manager – Trusts is responsible for developing trust income, based initially on a robust pipeline the previous postholder established. There is huge scope to look beyond the pipeline and also work with the service delivery teams to identify new funding opportunities. The role supports the organisation’s purpose to make a significant impact on the lives of people living with visual impairment in Scotland by maximising fundraising income to deliver brilliant services and create a positive impact on our ability to deliver for the long term. 

This specialist manager role would suit someone who is already operating at a senior trust fundraiser level, or someone who can demonstrate experience of developing a trust and grants pipeline, creating compelling applications and directly delivering income success.

The Head of Governance will ensure that the organisation (including subsidiaries) has robust and effective governance in place which complies with statutory requirements and good practice in relation to company and charity law and charity governance. They will be a key strategic leader, expected to lead the development and improvement of governance at The Scouts.

The post holder will provide strategic leadership of the governance, and associated functions, supporting the Executive Leadership Team (ELT) to proactively and effectively lead and manage the organisation to operate efficiently at its best. They will also be a natural collaborator, working with key stakeholders such as The Head of Legal to provide high level technical advice to members of the Movement and TSA staff concerning governing documents and key decisions, whilst also supporting effective governance at headquarters.

• As a key senior leader in the charity, and critical support to The Board of Trustees, provide strategic leadership for governance and its development at The Scouts
• Design and implement a strategic plan for the Governance function to meet the needs of the organisation
• Ensure that all legal vehicles across The Scout Association comply with all regulatory requirements and remain compliant with changes in charity law and the wider regulatory environment

Hours: Between 22.5 and 37.5 hours per week. This post requires a minimum 30% of the time face to face.

Salary: £42,322 - £47,949 per annum (pro rata for part time), dependent on experience

Location: Based in one of our main offices across our areas of operation (Oxfordshire, Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes) with flexibility to travel between offices and work from home.

Respect is seeking two Helplines Advisors to provide support to male victims of domestic abuse on the Men’s Advice Line and perpetrators of domestic abuse on the Respect Phoneline.

You will support service users by phone, email and webchat, providing emotional support, practical advice, information on the available options, and signposting to other services. As well as work with male victims and perpetrators of domestic abuse in ways that support them to increase safety and reduce harm, as described in the Models of Work and relevant policies and procedures.

• An understanding of the nature of domestic abuse and its effects on victims, in particular male victims
• An understanding of the help-seeking barriers for male victims of domestic abuse 
• An understanding of the reasons why perpetrators use abusive behaviours towards partners in relationships

The Role

To undertake all aspects of warehouse duties, ensuring effective, safe and efficient distribution of food each day. You will have responsibility for coordination of our food stock, from goods-in to picking, dispatch and stock rotation and will be expected to drive vans, and Fork Lift Trucks (training provided). Working closely with the wider team and volunteers, you will also support the monitoring and utilisation of warehouse space, stock, deliveries and collections to ensure food reaches its destination amongst our members safely, on time and in full.

Key duties and responsibilities:

1. Operations

• Undertake all warehouse duties, ensuring effective, safe and efficient co-ordination and distribution and of food
• To work to performance indicators so that stock is accurate and delivery routes are efficient to allow the organisation to grow
• To ensure that all work areas – both inside and outside the warehouse - are clean, organised and safe to work in
• Follow all H&S and Food Safety standards set out in the FareShare policies and procedures to ensure the safety of all our colleagues & visitors, and the safe receipt of food by all our members.
• Undertake van/Fork Lift Truck driving duties to ensure effective, efficient timely and safe delivery & collection of food, in line with compliance standards
• Ensuring great customer service in delivery
• Loading and unloading, sorting for, and following deliveries, ensuring safe lifting, and carrying
• Keep vehicles refuelled, maintained, operational and clean and tidy, ready for the next delivery run
• Refer van “issues”, in a timely manner to Transport Department to ensure minimum disruption to service delivery
• Undertake all checks and procedures from pre-delivery to post-delivery

2. Volunteer Communication & Co-ordination

• Work closely with the volunteer teams a diverse group ranging from regular and long-term, volunteers, placements (e.g. Job Centre) to business people having just a 1-day volunteering experience – to ensure that all shift duties are covered and teams work effectively
• Provide leadership and guidance to volunteers, ensuring they follow all policies and procedures, high standards of accuracy are maintained and their volunteer experience with FSM is a satisfying one.
• Work closely with the Warehouse Manager, Volunteer Manager & wider staff team with the recruitment, training and development of volunteers in the context of our commitment to Equal Opportunities

3. Standards

4. Administration

• Ensure that food movements are accurately logged on the electronic stock management system
• Carry out depot administration, including running reports, correspondence with member groups, updating volunteer records

About the role:

Respect is seeking two Helplines Team Leaders. You will be the main point of contact for the team of Advisors and provide line management support along with other focused meetings that guide their work with service users.

You will manage concerns raised by Advisors and make decisions on safety actions, and deal with complaints. You will oversee the implementation of a rota system that maximises resource capacity at peak call times to meet high demands. Work collaboratively with partner agencies that deliver programmes of support for both male victims and perpetrators, and set up signposting and referral processes that supports our work.

About you:

• At least two years’ experience of working on complex cases in a multi-agency environment and working with other professionals/agency to manage risk and safeguard vulnerable adults and children 
• An understanding of the root causes of domestic abuse, both individually and societal, and its effects on victims, in particular male victims 
• An understanding of the help-seeking barriers for male victims of domestic abuse 
• Ability to lead a team using motivational strategies that inspire and create a positive working atmosphere

Robertson Bell are pleased to be exclusively partnering with IMPAKT Housing & Support in their search for a Finance Manager to join their close-knit, dynamic team on a permanent basis. IMPAKT’s mission is to ensure support to people recovering from trauma and the devastating impact of homelessness and/or domestic abuse, in a safe and aspirational environment.

They are seeking an organised, diligent accounting professional to work with the Director of Finance & Resources, to support the finance team in its delivery of high-quality, timely, and insightful financial information. You will work closely with budget holders, enabling data-led decision-making and supporting donor and committee reporting. As a key member of a small, collaborative team, you will be hands-on managing day-to-day operations, proactive in ensuring a strong internal control environment and keen to drive operational and cost efficiencies.

The Organisation:

IMPAKT Housing and Support is a dedicated organisation focused on providing safe, supportive housing solutions and personalised services to individuals in need. They are committed to assisting vulnerable individuals, including those experiencing homelessness, mental health challenges, and other complex needs, by offering not just housing but holistic support to promote independence and well-being. IMPAKT’s mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives through stable housing, tailored support services, and community involvement, ensuring everyone has the opportunity to thrive in a secure and supportive environment.

The key duties of the Finance Manager are as follows:

• Preparation of monthly management accounts for DF&R to review
• On completion of the monthly management accounts; to distribute to Heads of Department and Managers the relevant reports, e.g. Housing, Domestic Abuse, Maintenance, Retail, Staff Training Marketing & Fundraising etc
• To meet with the relevant Heads of Department and Managers on a periodic basis to discuss the financial performance and outlook for the remaining periods
• Budget – to take responsibility for providing instructions/templates to Heads of Department and Managers for the submission of data to complete the draft budget. To arrange meetings as appropriate with the budget holders to discuss and agree the draft budget. Work with the DF&R to present the Draft Budget to Executive Team and then uploading to Xledger
• Cash – managing the cash resources of IMPAKT to ensure that any returns are achieved whilst ensuring there are adequate funds to meet liabilities as they fall due
• Completion and submission of quarterly VAT returns
• Providing staff with relevant guidance and training in the use of Xledger to meet their responsibilities
• Liaise with auditors and preparation of pre-audit information requests and dealing with any subsequent queries and requests in consultation with the DF&R
• Manage the finance team and oversee/reviewing sales ledger, purchase ledger, cash posting and all general ledger entries and that all reconciliations are completed and reviewed on a timely basis
• Overseeing the completion of the monthly payroll and submission of year end payroll returns and ensuring good collaboration with the People & Culture team on matters that affect staff salary payments
• Liaising with IMPAKT’s banks as and when required
• Provide regular 1:1’s and Annual Appraisals for the Finance team members

The successful candidate will have:

• Proven experience as Finance Manager
• Non-profit experience highly preferred
• Ideally fully qualified accountant but this is a desirable. Part qualified and qualified by experience are also acceptable
• Minimum of 5+ years’ experience in accounting and finance
• A good knowledge of the issues facing homeless people, and homelessness issues in general across all ages
• Possess a professional personal image and the ability to work harmoniously and establish positive relationships with staff at all levels and with third-party suppliers
• Ability to explain financial terms in simple language
• Demonstrate and convey a passion for the work of IMPAKT housing & support, including an understanding of the work we do and the challenges faced
