We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to be a valued member of parkrun’s Digital and Data team, playing a pivotal role in shaping the digital platforms that support millions of participants and volunteers every week.

The focus of the platform engineering function at parkrun is to deliver reliable, scalable and efficient digital systems that underpin event delivery, websites, databases, APIs and the parkrun app. The Senior Platform Engineer will lead and contribute to the modernisation of backend infrastructure and services, driving improvements through transformation and the adoption of DevOps best practices. Working with a strong focus on reliability, performance and continuous improvement, the role will help mature software development processes and strengthen the resilience of our technology ecosystem.

With a proactive mindset and a passion for thinking differently, the Senior Platform Engineer will be a key force behind evolving and modernising parkrun’s technical infrastructure. What you will be achieving

The Grants Officer will be a member of the Biomedical Grants and Policy Department. You will work with a Grants Manager to administer a portion of the Academy’s portfolio of grants schemes and activities. You will act as a key point of contact for external liaison relating to the schemes. Working with the other Grants Officers and the rest of the Team, you will also help to develop and deliver events for Academy grant holders, as well as contribute to the Academy’s wider portfolio of work, and the delivery of our strategy.

The Grant Officer will be line managed by a Grants Manager.

What you will be doing

Administering a portion of the Academy’s portfolio of grant schemes:

• Processing applications, determining eligibility and coordinating peer review of eligible applications
• Convening and supporting the awarding panel, including preparation of committee papers, reports and financial information, as well as preparing feedback to applicants
• Managing the new grants once awarded, along with the Academy’s existing portfolio of grants
• Supporting the monitoring of awards and evaluation of grants schemes
• Analysing data and preparing papers, presentations and reports to demonstrate the impact of our schemes for internal and external use
• Maintaining accurate and up-to-date data on grants
• Researching and reporting on initiatives being undertaken by other UK funders

Liaising with stakeholders:

• Working with the Academy’s Fellowship, in their roles as peer reviewers, selection panel members and Chairs, honorary Officers and members of Council
• Acting as a key external point of contact for the Academy’s grants schemes, such as by providing advice to applicants, awardees, and host organisations
• Developing and maintaining working relationships with scheme funders
• Working with other Academy staff, particularly the rest of the Careers department and supporting the other Grants Officers in the delivery of their schemes, as required

Supporting the development and delivery of events for Academy grant holders, for example induction and scientific meetings for grant holders

Contributing to the Academy’s wider portfolio of work, including drafting and providing data for papers for the Academy’s governing committees

Acting as line-manager or project manager for one of the Academy’s interns, on a rotation basis and when the opportunity arises

Performing any other duties that might be reasonably expected, and which are commensurate with this level of post

This role is central to delivering Screen Share's award-winning Digital Access Programme, which refurbishes donated technology and distributes it to refugees and asylum seekers across the UK. This is a new role in the team designed to increase our capacity to support a growing client base. It is both practical and operational, involving both technology management and customer service.

The role focuses on making sure the right devices reach the right people. You will process referrals, coordinate fulfilment, and work with clients, partners and volunteers to make sure devices are delivered smoothly and any challenges are resolved with care. This requires clear and confident communication, strong organisation, and a trauma-informed, safeguarding-aware approach to working with people from many different backgrounds.

On the technical side, the post holder will support the end-to-end management of Screen Share’s IT assets. Working closely within the Operations team, this includes logging and tracking devices, maintaining accurate database records, supporting physical storage and stock control, assisting with secure data sanitisation, and preparing devices for distribution through careful packaging and postage. This element of the role ensures that all devices are handled safely, securely and in line with our operational and data protection standards.

The role sits within a busy, highly collaborative and fun Operations team, where people support one another, share knowledge freely, and work together to solve problems. You will have opportunities to learn from colleagues, contribute your own ideas and experience, and help shape how we work as the organisation grows.

Key Responsibilities: 

Customer Service

Explaining Screen Share’s referral process to individuals and partner organisations seeking support, and signposting to external services where appropriate. Sharing responsibility with the wider team for client and partner communications,
responding promptly, professionally and courteously. Support in-person device distribution at partner charities, libraries
and accommodation settings, and provide remote technical support to clients via phone and email, communicating
clearly, patiently and with care. 

Data Management and Administration

Reviewing, prioritising and processing referral applications, completing digital paperwork and issuing delivery and tracking information. Capturing, updating and maintaining accurate client and device data to support day-to-day operations and impact reporting. Allocating devices based on client needs and available stock, and handling all client, partner and donor information in line with data protection policies and GDPR requirements.

Postage and Packaging

Preparing, packaging and dispatching devices and accessories securely using postal and courier services. Ensuring all equipment is packaged safely and appropriately to prevent damage in transit.

General Operations and Ad-hoc Support

Participating fully in team meetings and contributing to shared problem-solving. Supporting the refurbishment process as needed, including data sanitisation, basic diagnostics, installing operating systems and logging donated devices. Assisting with fulfilment across other programmes and providing general administrative support to ensure the smooth day-to-day running of the Operations team.

Exceptional stakeholder and vendor management skills are essential as is experience in risk management, scheduling, and documentation.  You will ideally have relevant professional qualifications in IT, systems architecture and project management.

Requirements

 Essential skills and experience

• Degree or equivalent professional qualification (e.g. from the British Computer Society or other recognised professional bodies) in a relevant subject such as computing, business information systems, data and analytics.
• At least 5 years working in a team leadership role in a large, complex international development organisation.
• Demonstrated experience of managing IT projects and systems/platforms, at strategic and operational levels, across large and complex organisations.
• Knowledge and experience of change management processes and of successfully driving cross-organisational change.
• Strong verbal and written communication and influencing skills, and fluency in English, in order to represent the organisation credibly and at a high level and produce high quality documents communicating complex issues with clarity.
• Excellent IT skills, including productivity tools such as Microsoft Office, and technical skills related to information systems (e.g. SQL, programming languages).
• Working style that reflects WaterAid’s values of Respect, Accountability, Courage, Collaboration, Integrity and Innovation.
• Demonstrated commitment to diversity, equity and empowerment, and safeguarding in leadership and decision-making.
• Availability to undertake international travel for up to 4 weeks per year.

Although not essential, we would prefer you to have

• Experience with the Salesforce platform and Amp Impact.

• Experience with mWater or a similar data collection tool.
• Experience in performing the above accountabilities in the water, sanitation, and hygiene development sectors.
• Working ability to communicate effectively in one or more of WaterAid’s other key languages (French, Portuguese, and Spanish).

As part of our annual leave policy, all employees receive three additional days of annual leave on top of their standard allocation of 25 days. In this role you will be responsible for invoices, petty cash claims and staff expenses, as well as other regular payments and the purchase ledger payment runs. This role will liaise with managers and suppliers, as well as relating to the wider finance team and other members of staff.

This role would suit someone with some previous experience and knowledge of working in finance and accounting, bringing existing purchase ledger knowledge. The successful candidate will need be able to work to deadlines and have strong skills in admin, organisation, and IT. The nature of the role requires someone who is able to manage confidential data and is a problem solver

To support people affected by macular disease now, the Macular Society provides a range of support, information and services. Our research programme is focused on finding new treatments and a cure to beat macular disease forever.

You’ll oversee day to day services that keep our office running smoothly, from contracts for services to all aspects of health and safety to cleaning, maintenance, and equipment orders. You’ll also support our office IT setup — ensuring meeting room equipment works, liaising with our IT and print providers, and managing small stock items.

This is a practical, hands-on role for someone who enjoys taking ownership, solving problems and keeping things working behind the scenes.
