Telephone Engagement Executive (Churches)

Teddington, Greater London (Hybrid)
£32,041 (FTE)
Part-time (28 hours per week)
Permanent
Job description

Tearfund's call is clear - to follow Jesus where the need is the greatest.

For us that means working in some of the world's poorest communities, helping to care for those caught up in crisis and supporting churches in their fight against long term poverty.

The Telephone Engagement team are looking for a passionate and personable communicator who can actively develop our relationship and engagement with churches and volunteer Church Champions across the UK. You will mainly use the telephone and other non-face to face communications and will have the ability to:

  • Influence
  • Encourage others
  • Have excellent verbal communication skills
  • Be self-motivated
  • Be tenacious

Above all do you have an enthusiasm and energy to deliver a great supporter experience and ensure we reach our income targets to fund this transformational work?

The successful candidate will be:

  • A great listener
  • Be comfortable contacting people by phone that they have never met
  • Will be confident in asking for financial support
  • A self-starter who will use their initiative and drive to develop and implement church engagement plans to achieve stretching targets

Does your skill set match the above? Do you have a passion for supporting churches in their fight against long term poverty? Then this is the role for you!

We particularly welcome applications from people with disabilities and those from Black, Asian or Minority Ethnic (BAME) backgrounds (in our UK workforce) as these groups are currently under-represented at Tearfund.

Applicants must be committed to Tearfund's Christian beliefs.

Hybrid Working: This role is eligible for hybrid working and you will be required to work from the Teddington Tearfund office and from your home by agreement with the line manager.

All applicants must be committed to Tearfund's Christian beliefs.

The recruitment process will include specific checks related to safeguarding. In addition, personal identification information will be submitted against a Watchlist database to check against criminal convictions as a counter-terror measure
