About MAG:
MAG (Mines Advisory Group) is an international humanitarian organisation based in Manchester, UK, and working in 32 countries. We remove landmines and unexploded ordnance to release safe and productive land for communities, and work to reduce the threat of armed violence by supporting governments to safely manage weapons and ammunition. In 1997, MAG was a co-recipient of the Nobel Peace Prize for our work campaigning for the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention.
About the role:
Based from our Manchester office, you will provide strategic leadership and high-level operational oversight across our governance, strategic planning, organisational performance, and executive coordination. You will act as our Company Secretary and Data Protection Officer to ensure organisational compliance. You will support our Board, CEO, and Leadership Team to ensure effective decision-making and execution of MAG’s Strategic Framework. You will oversee core support functions including planning, internal policy management, and administrative coordination support services.
About you:
We are hiring for an experienced governance professional with demonstrable experience advising senior staff and Boards on governance matters, including relevant legislation, regulations and governing documents. You will be an experienced strategic professional with significant experience in an advisory or operational role, and a proven track record of leading, participating in, and promoting cross-organisational team working. You will have a proven track record of leading and contributing to strategic and annual planning processes in an NGO or other comparable organisation. You will be an excellent communicator, with strong research and report-writing skills and the ability to support others to communicate effectively. You should be proactive, diplomatic, tactful, and customer-focused, with the ability to understand, demonstrate, and apply MAG’s organisational values.
