• Work closely with the Chief Executive to develop and evolve Home-Start’s services in response to changing needs, informing the strategy for our family support and development of services.
• Provide vision, direction, and leadership to motivate staff and volunteers to deliver high-quality services that make a measurable positive difference to children and their families.
• Manage the HSS Family Support Team, coordinating and quality assuring their work.
• Collaborate with multi-agency partners to deliver evidence-based interventions that support parenting and prevent need escalating, including structured programmes and group work.
• Be a Designated Safeguarding Lead for the charity.

The role: Fundraising Manager

We are seeking a Fundraising Manager with a passion for our mission, who will build positive relationships to secure significant income, working together to harness the power of adventure to create lasting change and transform communities for all.

This is a new role, leading our small but growing Fundraising Team, and having a real input into our plans and strategies for the future. Reporting to the Head of Business Development, the successful candidate will oversee all fundraising income generation activity and lead on our Major Donor Giving Programme. A typical week could involve meeting with prospective donors, developing a case for support for a new stream of work, supporting team members to develop their own fundraising skills, and working with other departments to raise awareness of Bendrigg’s work.

This is an exciting opportunity for a seasoned fundraiser to join and lead a forward-thinking and inclusive team and develop Bendrigg’s fundraising to support our new Strategic Plan. This opportunity is open to those wishing to work remotely (there would be an expectation to attend the office for a minimum of 2 weeks during the induction process, and thereafter at least 3 days per month throughout the year), looking for a hybrid working pattern or wanting to be fully office-based. The role is full time, however part-time on a minimum of 0.8FTE would be considered for the ideal candidate.

This new role will lead on Platform’s People and Process functions as we progress through the next stage of our exciting restructure process.

We are a flat-structured organisation that makes decisions collectively. We are currently developing and designing a new organisational structure based on sociocracy where staff are supported to work more collectively and strategically across our seven programs. 

The focus of this role will be on transforming and strengthening our HR systems and processes to centre compassion, care and liberation. As well as delivering the day-to-day HR functions within our small organisation, this role will lead on the long-term design and implementation of a People Strategy and a Learning and Development Strategy, supporting our staff to develop their own roles while growing as a team within our new structure. Key priorities for this work will be:

• Leading a review of recruitment practices, with a particular focus on equity and anti-oppression

• Leading a review of our line management practices and processes

• Supporting the review of our Socially Just Waging System policy

This role will sit within our new ‘Resourcing Circle’ - working with the Finance and Fundraising staff and liaising with our Board of Trustees.

Hereford, Worcester and Gloucester Dioceses are working towards reaching Net Zero Carbon by 2030 and to incorporate sustainable working practices across all its operations. This includes churches, clergy housing, schools, diocesan offices, churchyards and curtilage land and investment land and housing.

A key aim will be to reduce the emissions from energy consumption year-on-year across the Dioceses, working with the national Church of England Routemap to net zero as a key guiding document.

The post holder will be leading, alongside a committed team, in the development of the Net Zero Carbon policy, strategy and an Action Plan and will be responsible for the monitoring and reporting of progress towards the implementation of the Diocesan Net Zero Carbon Action Plan.

We provide information, advice, practical support, befriending and accessible activities to our clients and families. The Adult Services Team Manager is one of 3 team managers reporting to our Chief Executive Officer. The services managed include Direct Payment Support across Richmond and Wandsworth, Befriending and Community Activities, our Benefits and Housing Advice and Information service and our Counselling service.

Purpose of Post

Home-Start is committed to promoting the welfare of families with young children to ensure that they have the best start in life. We are recruiting a Volunteer Manager to develop a diverse team of volunteers, to support our work with families in Barnet, Brent and Harrow. As a volunteer-led organisation, the role of Volunteer Manager is central. The postholder will promote Home-Start in each of the boroughs where we work, seeking opportunities for recruitment within local communities. They will ensure that volunteers receive training, development and supervision to support the families referred us, and that high standards of practice are maintained. They will promote initiatives to increase the retention of existing volunteers and ensure that they are recognised and rewarded for their work.

The work requires a combination of field-based community engagement and training, and regular days in the office which is in Finchley, Barnet.

Essential Information: 

Hours of Work - 30 to 37.5 hours per week, over 4 to 5 days - flexible for the right candidate

Salary - £35k to £40k, dependent on experience and pro-rate for part time candidates

What you’ll do: 

Our Finance Manager will report to our Head of Finance and Resources and be a member of our Finance Team, you will be responsible for ensuring the financial records of the charity are accurately accounted for in a timely manner and for supporting growth of the charity in a controlled a sustainable way. 

You will directly line manage our Finance Assistant, manage relationships with 3rd parties and be financial business partner to key stakeholders.

We are ambitious and we need you to help us shape the operational and strategic direction of Green Light Trust. This will be achieved through robust, accurate bookkeeping, effective process and system controls, regular financial planning, the provision of financial information and analysis to support sound decision making and continuous improvement in controls and processes.

The priorities in this role will be: 

1. Management Accounting: Creditor and debtor control to ensure all amounts owed to and from the charity are managed in a robust manner, ensuring accurate and timely reporting to support decision making, in line with organisation and statutory requirements. 
2. Financial Accounting: Day to day treasury management, accurate and timely bookkeeping in line with statutory and regulatory requirements. 
3. Payroll: Co-ordinate with HR colleagues and 3rd party payroll processing bureau to ensure all members of staff and associated other payroll liabilities are paid correctly and on time. 
4. Financial Planning: producing cash flow forecasts on a quarterly basis, collaborating with budget holders and supporting the Head of Finance to prepare robust income and expenditure budgets and quarterly re forecasts. 
5. Analysis and Business Partnering: provide ad hoc and routine analysis to support decision making and support to budget holders to ensure ongoing spend control. 
6. Process improvement: support Head of finance to identify opportunities to ensure all processes system outputs are effective and manual input is minimised. 
7. Line management of finance assistant; providing coaching and guidance to support ongoing development and ensuring there are appropriate levels of cover for team processes, during periods of absence. 
8. General: Ensure all computerised systems are used and maintained in accordance with established processes and best practice and support the Head of finance on the implementation of a new fit for growth finance system.

Roots to Wellbeing project aims:

• Provide a safe and inclusive space for participants to receive weekly support.
• Help participants to connect with nature and socialise with others to feel happier, less anxious and less isolated.
• Support participants to access other beneficial services, where appropriate, including health, social and financial.
• Support participants to move onto outdoor work or volunteering with friends of groups where appropriate.
• Facilitate a positive journey through the service for participants to ensure as many people as possible can access the service.

The role 

The roles has four main areas of work:

1. Leadership and management:

• Lead the Roots to Wellbeing team to reach its goals. 
• Line manage and support three Mental Health Officers, each delivering Roots to Wellbeing on one site.
• Work with local communities and other team members to explore new opportunities for the project and develop solutions.
• Work with CEO and Head of Fundraising to secure funding for project development.

2. Project management: 

• Oversee the delivery and development of the project to meet key KPIs.
• Collate qualitative and quantitative data and produce impact reports for funders. 
• Support team to ensure administrative records are kept up to date, including but not limited to: maintaining accurate participant records, work programme, incident reporting, risk management, external outreach, website.
• Develop a thorough communications strategy and build on current local referral relationships to further embed the programme within the VCSE & Health sector.
• Ensure service standard and quality is consistent across sites and policies and procedures are followed. 
• Recruit and induct volunteers to support session delivery.
• Work in partnership with stakeholders within and across the organisation to deliver project goals.
• Attend networking meetings and community events to raise awareness of the project and demonstrate its impact. 

3. Session delivery at Hartcliffe Millennium Green: 

• Continually build and maintain relationships with local referral partners to achieve a consistent referral rate into the project. 
• Deliver weekly Roots to Wellbeing sessions by; planning and facilitating delivery of sessions and activities in line with 5 pathways to nature connectedness and that are accessible to all participants, organising logistics of sessions such as travel, food and equipment, acting as safeguarding lead during sessions, liaising with co-facilitator, leading peer-support style check in at the beginning of the sessions and the grounding and meditation at the end.
• Lead on all direct communication with participants at Hartcliffe Millennium Green. Support them to create personalised development plans, signposting and referrals where needed. 

4. Other: 

• Support the work of the wider charity and specifically the South Bristol team as required. 
• Representing the charity externally through media work and presentation where necessary.

ABOUT BLACK ROOTZ

Black Rootz is a multigenerational growing project providing opportunities for Black and racially minoritised people to grow food for themselves, their families and their communities. Black Rootz was established in 2019 by a collective of Black growers in Haringey who recognised the need to organise to challenge the deep inequalities in the growing and food systems. Over the past 5 years, Black Rootz has developed a holistic practice for Black and racially minoritised communities incorporating intergenerational knowledge transfer, increased access to land and food sovereignty, regenerative environmental practices and reduced food inequality.

Black Rootz has been incubated as a project within The Ubele Initiative since 2019. As an established name in the growing community, it is now building towards an independent future.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The Project Manager is a new role that will provide hands on management capacity to Black Rootz. The role will bring experience and energy to support the delivery and continued development of the project’s core activities; the Community Growing Programme and a new workshop series. The Project Manager will take on a management position and, with support from Ubele, help the project to navigate decisions that will enable Black Rootz to achieve its overall social, environmental, and operational ambitions. 

The successful candidate will be central in Black Rootz’ journey towards a more independent and sustainable future. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with the complexity andholistic nature of Black Rootz and will be committed to its values. As a small team, the Project Manager will be as comfortable making plans and big decisions as they are rolling their sleeves up and being hands on to support the team. While this is a fixed-term contract, we expect the role to be extended and grow over time.

About the Role

There are 1.4 million primary-aged children growing up in poverty in the UK, and we are currently only working with a fraction of them. We have grown rapidly over the last few years and are now looking to recruit a Fundraising Manager who can help take our fundraising work to the next level.

The Fundraising Manager will work with the team to drive Learning with Parents’ fundraising strategy. Their primary focus will be on strengthening our existing corporate partnerships pipeline, and managing new and existing corporate relationships. They will continue to develop and adapt the Learning with Parents proposition for corporate partnerships ensuring partnerships deliver mutual benefits and maximise impact on our shared mission. 

The Fundraising Manager will also support our work with High Net Worth Individuals and Trust and Foundations. Their responsibilities will also include line management of our Fundraising and Operations Officer to achieve their aims and objectives.

The Fundraising Manager will represent Learning with Parents at external fundraising and networking events to raise our profile, build relationships and promote parental engagement in the charitable and education sectors.

Areas of Responsibility

Building a pipeline of corporate partners

• Working closely with Learning with Parents’ CEO and COO, research, qualify and prioritise prospects to create a buoyant pipeline.

• Maintain and update the prospect pipeline. 

• Engage with and cultivate potential corporate partners to develop meaningful collaborations with shared goals.

Stewarding new and existing funders

• Writing and submitting applications to corporate foundations and other trusts and foundations.

• Manage and steward Learning with Parents’ corporate partners, trust and foundations and other donors.

• Fulfil any donor due diligence requirements. 

• Draft compelling update reports and other written materials as required.

Feeding into the fundraising strategy 

• Input into Learning with Parents’ fundraising strategy.

• Feed into discussions around what the Fundraising team should look like as the organisation grows.

Responding to new opportunities

• Engage with new fundraising opportunities such as Awards and connections with High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs). 

• Develop and adapt Learning with Parents’ proposition for corporate partners, ensuring partnerships deliver mutual benefits and maximise impact of our shared mission. 

• Represent Learning with Parents at external fundraising and networking to raise our profile.

• Update Learning with Parents’ case for support and other fundraising resources to meet new funding needs and opportunities.

Line Management

• Directly line manage Learning with Parents’ Fundraising and Operations Officer to achieve their goals and objectives.

However, we know that a lot of the most important skills in this role are transferable from jobs in other sectors, such as relationship development, account management and business development. The British Dyslexia Association (BDA) is a charity that represents the voice of people living with dyslexia. We aim to influence government and other institutions to promote a dyslexia friendly society that enables dyslexic people of all ages to reach their full potential.

This is an exciting new role for the BDA, which has been created with the purpose of recruiting, managing and supporting regional volunteers, leading specific outreach to groups impacted and disadvantaged by dyslexia and resulting life circumstances. This is a varied hands-on role that would suit a skilled volunteering professional, who will use their knowledge of volunteering best practice and experience to help us create the future for outreach volunteering at the BDA.

Location

Home-based (UK), with travel to the BDA office in Bracknell (Berkshire) and around the UK as and when necessary. Additionally, travel to team days approximately 1-2 times a year is required.

Duties and Responsibilities (to include, but not limited to):

 ·Recruiting, training and supporting regional volunteers and working with a national voluntary panel.

· Develop and implement volunteer recruitment strategies to attract a diverse pool of volunteers.

· Provide supervision and guidance to volunteers to ensure a positive volunteer experience.

· Coordinate volunteer training and onboarding processes.

· Maintain accurate volunteer records, including role, contract information and achievements.

· Monitor and evaluate the provision of outreach services to measure effectiveness and identify areas for improvement.

· Leading specific outreach to groups impacted and disadvantaged by dyslexia and resulting life circumstances.

· Promoting hubs, working closely with Marketing and Communications colleagues and creating referral routes to hub services.

· Creating resources and tools for hub volunteers to run services and for new hubs to establish in a consistent way.

· Evaluating services run by Local Hubs and contributing to knowledge and research on needs, provision and outcomes for people with dyslexia.

· Bringing together the network of Local Hubs, Local Dyslexia Associations and other member organisations - enabling them to share good practice, access training and peer support between volunteers. 

· Create and maintain an internal engagement plan that supports the BDA to increase impact and reach through our work with communities, including best practice guidance and tools.
