Job description

Job Vacancy – Donations Processor

The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is looking for a donations processor with excellent data entry skills, to join our busy Donations Team (Relief Chest)

The ideal candidate will be able to process high volumes whilst maintaining accuracy and high standards. Good computer skills are required however full training on the specific systems will be provided.

Post:                 Donations Processor

Description:       Responsible for processing a high volume of Gift Aid Envelopes (GAEs)/donations, and other administrative tasks

Location:             Covent Garden, London

Hours:                   34 hours per week (early finish on Fridays)

Contract:             12 month Fixed Term Contract; probationary period of 6 months

Hybrid:                 Work from home up to two days per week (after completion of induction)

Salary:                 Circa £21,573 - £23,477 (dependent upon experience)

Holiday:               25 days (rising to 30 after 5 years’ service), plus additional 3 days to be taken between Christmas and New Year

About the Masonic Charitable Foundation

The Masonic Charitable Foundation (MCF) is one of the UK’s leading charities, providing a range of benevolent support to individuals and awarding grants to local and national charities.

The MCF was founded in 2016 following the merger of four charities that had operated separately since the eighteenth century.

Our work helps to encourage opportunity, promote independence and improve wellbeing for thousands of people each year.  Last year, the MCF awarded support totalling around £20 million.  Our support is funded from the donations of freemasons, their families and friends.

The Relief Chest Scheme is the fundraising part of the MCF. Currently there are nearly 5200 individual charitable accounts (Relief Chests)

The team take receipt of over £19m in donations and process over 1 million transactions each year

 

Main responsibilities

  • Accurately processing and inputting Gift Aid envelopes (GAEs)/donations and claiming the valid Gift Aid tax relief.
  • Dealing with telephone/reception queries.
  • Responding to relief chest holder queries.
  • Image/data capturing on to FileDirector and other Electronic Document Records Management.
  • Maintaining records and archiving in line with Data Protection Act and department policies
  • Banking cheques and cash
  • Assisting with team administration tasks including stationery monitoring and ordering

 

Person specification

Essential

  • Excellent data input skills with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail
  • High volume processing
  • MS Office Suite with intermediate standard of Word and Excel
  • Good understanding of data and data electronic filing software
  • Good communication skills
  • GCSE’s (or equivalent) or qualified by experience

 

Desirable

  • Electronic data records management systems (EDRMS).
  • Customer relations management software.
  • Fundraising within charity sector.
  • The Data Protection Act and HMRC Guidelines
