Based in Hampton Hill, we provide specialist family mediation and accessible counselling services for adults, children and couples, helping families navigate difficult times and build a more positive future.
Our experienced mediators and counsellors provide a compassionate, professional service. We hold a Legal Aid Agency contract and the highest specialist quality mark, reflecting our commitment to high standards of practice and client care.
We are seeking an experienced, proactive Executive Director to lead the charity's day-to-day operations, manage its resources and staff, and work closely with the Board of Trustees to secure its long-term sustainability and development.
This is a varied senior leadership role, offering the opportunity to shape the future of a respected charity and make a tangible difference to the families and children we support.
The role
Reporting to the Board of Trustees, the Executive Director will have overall responsibility for the effective management and development of the charity, including:

- Financial management: Managing budgets, monitoring income and expenditure, preparing financial reports and working with the Treasurer, bookkeeper and trustees to maintain financial sustainability.
- Income generation and fundraising: Identifying funding opportunities, developing relationships with funders and donors, and supporting the charity's fundraising strategy.
- People management: Leading and supporting a small team of administrative staff, working collaboratively with independent mediators and counsellors, and overseeing recruitment, performance and HR matters. Includes working closely with the Professional Practice Consultant (PPC) particularly on safeguarding.
- Marketing and communications: Raising the charity's profile, developing effective marketing and communications, and identifying opportunities to increase referrals and service uptake.
- Systems and administration: Ensuring effective office management, robust administrative processes and appropriate use of IT and case management systems.
- Governance and compliance: Working closely with the Board of Trustees to support good governance, manage risk and ensure compliance with relevant legal, regulatory and safeguarding requirements.
- Strategic development: Identifying opportunities to improve services, strengthen partnerships and secure the charity's future.
About you
We are looking for a capable and resourceful leader who combines strategic thinking with a hands-on approach and is comfortable taking responsibility across a broad range of functions.
You will bring:

- Experience of managing staff, coordinating workloads and overseeing day-to-day operations.
- Experience of fundraising, income generation, business development or building relationships with funders and other stakeholders.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to prioritise competing demands, multitask effectively and work independently.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with confidence in dealing with trustees, staff, funders and external partners.
- A practical, solutions-focused approach, sound judgement and a commitment to the charity's values and purpose.
