Job description

We are Hestia. We make a difference.

At Hestia, we are guided by our core values and are dedicated to fostering an equitable, diverse, and inclusive organisation. Our mission is to empower individuals to rebuild their lives and achieve independence. Right now, we are looking for a Recovery Workerto play a pivotal role in our MHCA Waltham Forest service.

Sounds great, what will I be doing?

You will manage a caseload of individuals requiring mental health crisis de-escalation, early intervention, and preventative support, delivering high-quality, person-centred services that promote recovery, wellbeing, and independence. Working closely with service users, you will complete assessments, develop and review support plans, deliver tailored interventions, and empower individuals to access community resources and professional support.

The role involves building strong partnerships with mental health services, community teams, and local organisations to ensure effective pathways and continuity of care. You will also facilitate group activities, maintain accurate records, manage referrals and reviews, and contribute to a collaborative team environment, ensuring services are delivered safely, effectively, and in line with contractual requirements.

What do I need to bring with me?

You'll need to be able to demonstrate the core skills this role requires as well as match our values and mission. You don't have to tick all the boxes right away; the important thing is that you're willing to learn. We also value lived experience of the areas we support, so if you feel comfortable, please do mention this on your application.

You will have experience supporting people with mental health needs and complex presentations, including those with dual diagnoses, and be confident managing complex cases within a multi-agency environment. You'll have a strong understanding of mental health, recovery-focused and trauma-informed approaches, and be able to assess and manage risk while promoting positive outcomes for service users.

You will be an excellent communicator who can build effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, including crisis services, community mental health teams, hospitals, and local authorities. Experience delivering group activities, facilitating community engagement, and supporting individuals in crisis or fast-paced environments is essential.

A working knowledge of relevant legislation, safeguarding responsibilities, and person-centred practice is important, alongside strong organisational and IT skills. Above all, you will be adaptable, resilient, and passionate about supporting people on their recovery journey, with the flexibility to work within a dynamic service, including evenings and weekends as required.
