Programme Manager

We are looking for an experienced programme manager to lead an established Inclusive and Nurturing Schools (INS) programme to implement nurturing education across seven boroughs in London, commissioned by the London Violence Reduction Unit.

Position: Inclusive and Nurturing Schools Programme Manager

Location: Remote (UK based homeworking)

Salary: £37,800- £43,449 per annum (depending on experience)

About the Role

The charity is leading on the Inclusion strand of the programme, delivering training to education professionals in 70 schools across London. The charity is working in partnership with Tender, a charity specialising in the prevention of gender-based violence and the promotion of healthy relationships between children and young people. Tender is leading on the Healthy Relationships strand of the programme.

In particular, you will be responsible for leading the established (2022) programme to keep children supported, and thriving in school, tackle exclusions, and ensure children and young people have healthy relationship behaviours and attitudes.

The Programme Manager will:

• Lead on programme management (including budget management and reporting)
• Work closely with the programme manager for the healthy relationship strand to ensure high quality and coordinated delivery
• Maintain strong relationships with funders and contract managers
• Coordinate engagement with schools and participating boroughs
• Coordinate a delivery team
• Assess the impact of the INS programme

About the Role

We are looking for passionate and qualified A level tutors to deliver high quality small group tuition to our cohort of over 800 students. This is an exciting opportunity for experienced tutors with a love of learning to work with bright students whilst earning a competitive market rate for their tuition expertise. Tutorials are delivered online in groups of 2-4 students via our bespoke online platform. 

Tutors should be able to commit to a minimum of three hours per week, between the hours of 4pm and 8pm on a weekday, to tutor The Access Project students.

Role Summary:

As the In2careers Manager, you will be responsible for developing and delivering the alumni offer which is the In2careers platform. This currently includes a mentoring scheme, monthly newsletter, online workshops, Alumni Conference, job boards and more.

You will be responsible for developing any new activities and initiatives for this platform that build on our aim of getting young people from low socio-economic backgrounds into employment.

• Evaluating current activities and developing new ideas and initiatives for the programme

• Securing partners that support the mission of this programme

• Generating income for the programme

• Developing and delivering the ongoing Alumni mentoring programme

• Online and in person event development, management and delivery, including careers fair and networking events

• Generating relevant content for the platform

• Maintaining up to date records through the programme’s database, supporting

• Managing the evaluation of the programmes in collaboration with the Operations team

• Communicating Alumni activities to the wider team

About EFA

English for Action provides free, participatory, and empowering English language classes (ESOL) for migrants in London. Our classes are spaces to build community and support students to organise collectively around issues like employment and housing rights. Our work currently supports around 500 adult migrants across London. We’ve become a national centre of good practice for a radical participatory approach to ESOL, informed by the work of Paulo Freire, and we share this approach through trainings, research and partnerships. 

Organisation: We are a staff team of 8 people supported by a larger team of volunteers and 9 trustees. EFA promotes shared leadership and collaboration and we aim for our organisational structure to reflect this. In the last 4 years we’ve transitioned away from having a CEO to an executive team to oversee operations and decision-making - which you could be elected to join following your probation period. We’re still in transition and there is scope to make a real contribution to developing innovative practice within our workplace. Ways of working
