About Surviving Economic Abuse:
At Surviving Economic Abuse, we deal with one of society’s biggest issues. Last year, 5.5 million UK women reported that a current or former partner had controlled their economic resources – money and the things it can buy such as food, clothing, transportation, and housing. Through economic control, abusers limit women’s freedom, they steal their futures, and, in far too many cases, they take their lives. Yet too few people are aware of economic abuse – even those who experience it. We are the only UK charity dedicated to raising awareness of economic abuse and transforming responses to it. The speed and scale of our growth since 2017 are evidence of how much we are needed. We may be young, but we are already creating big waves.
What We Offer You:
- Remote working with occasional travel for team events
- Competitive salary
- 25 days of annual leave plus (pro rata) plus bank holidays
- 5 'Wellbeing Days' (pro rata)
- Enhanced maternity and paternity pay

Do you want to join an organisation committed to addressing low literacy and numeracy levels amongst people in the criminal justice system?
We’ve made substantial progress as we implement our new strategy, with improvements and expansions to our delivery model and a renewed vision and mission. To support our recent growth, we are recruiting for a new part time Finance Officer to help us effectively manage our day-to-day financial processes and provide financial and administrative support to our growing team of staff and volunteers.
Working closely with colleagues across the charity, your responsibilities will include the processing of purchase invoices and expenses, raising of contract invoices, assisting with budgets and forecasts and supporting our Income Generation team with their finance needs. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to various finance projects and strategic initiatives.
It is essential that you have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, good communication abilities, and a proactive attitude towards assisting with diverse finance tasks. Ideally you will possess a formal accounting qualification (AAT or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping. Underpinning this will be the ability to build relationships, and personal qualities that include persistence, determination and a problem-solving approach. Employee benefits include a company contribution to pension scheme of up to 5%, 18 days holiday (30 days FTE) plus bank holidays, life insurance, paid volunteering days, discounts via Reward Gateway and an Employee Assistance Programme. The biggest benefit though is our culture – our people really want to work for the organisation.

This will add to a dataset of over ten thousand consultations over 6 years, so you’ll have a unique evidence base at your disposal. We believe that, with your expertise and support, we could make better use of the rich information in these datasets, and we feel we owe that to the women and men we’ve consulted. The reports you produce will help amplify their voices, providing decision-makers in government and the international community with clear recommendations for activities that will address root causes of conflict and promote sustainable peace and development.
