About the role

As our Global Internal Communications & Engagement Lead you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing a comprehensive global strategy for internal communications and employee engagement at WaterAid and work closely with senior leaders and key stakeholders to drive sustainable change.

In this role, you will:

• Set the strategic direction for WaterAid’s internal communications. Drive execution of this strategy to ensure staff are informed and inspired, engaged, empowered and connected to each other and the mission.
• Lead WaterAid’s federation-wide approach to employee engagement, ensuring the use of advanced technology and systems to drive, monitor and maintain WaterAid’s high levels of employee engagement.
• Oversee and lead WaterAid’s federation-wide approach to leadership communications, ensuring alignment with the Global Strategy and strategic priorities. Develop and define what leadership communication is required across the federation to foster an environment of transparency, collaboration and engagement.
• Trusted advisor and strategic internal communications business partner to key members of the Global Executive, specifically the WaterAid Chief Executives, Global Director of WaterAid international and the Executive Director, People (Global Lead for People).
• Serve as a strategic internal communications business partner on key global projects, collaborating closely with colleagues across the global federation.
• Lead on our federation-wide approach to deliver a seamless, integrated and highly positive digital employee experience.
• Ensure WaterAid leverages the most effective digital channels to create a positive employee experience, focusing on impactful communication and engagement across the global organisation.
• Act as a champion for WaterAid’s core values throughout the federation, promoting and embodying these principles to ensure that the global organisational culture authentically reflects them.
• Ensure diversity, equity and empowerment are seamlessly integrated into all internal communications and engagement activities. This includes actively promoting inclusive messaging that reflects the diverse voices and perspectives within the organisation.

The Brain Tumour Charity is leading the way in research, support, and advocacy for everyone affect by brain tumours. Our mission is simple but urgent: to accelerate a cure for brain tumours and improve life for everyone affected by this devastating disease.

Our events team are bold & innovative working across a wide portfolio of fundraising and engagement events including our annual flagship fundraising walk, The Twilight Walk, an exciting challenge event portfolio and a growing special events programme. It’s an exciting time to join the Events Fundraising Team. We have a new five-year strategy and are a team with big ambitions! As the Event Manager [Challenge and Third-Party Events], you will play a huge part in making these ambitions a reality and paving the way for our future.

You will be responsible for planning, developing, marketing, and implementing the challenge and third-party events portfolio, ensuring outstanding stewardship of participants, providing on the day leadership and full post-event review against objectives. Success will be measured primarily by achieving income targets within the planned expenditure, but also number of attendees, publicity, retention of supporters, receipt of positive feedback and return on investment with a community-first led approach. You will manage and develop an amazing team of events fundraisers, and work with the Head of Events to support of the broader team, offering guidance, and role modelling.

About the Role
 
Reporting to the Head of Operations and supported by 6 team leaders and central reporting and administration support, success in this hands-on leadership role is about how you support, coach and develop our capabilities for the future across a diverse range of services and projects.

The role:

This key role will add substantial grant-making and strategic capacity to the AFF team, which currently consists of 7 people  reporting to the Director of A Fairer Future. The role will take on existing relationships in the form of a portfolio of organisations at various points in their funding journey. This person will pick up these relationships and ensure continuity as well as assessing new applications.  There will also be work contributing to strategic initiatives, helping to achieve impact in the thematic areas covered by the AFF strategy and roadmaps. Committed to social justice, the candidate will be ambitious to help create change using Esmée's full range of tools and approaches.

Convening collaborations, commissioning research and mobilising networks to create change will all be part of this role in addition to the more day to day management of organisation's funding journey, supporting them from application onwards to achieve the best possible impact. They will also be responsible for capturing learning from reporting, site visits and facilitating online discussions with organisations, as well as representing the Foundation at sector forums and events concentrating on the AFF priority areas.

The person:

The successful candidate will have experience of working in one or more of the areas cover by the AFF priorities, perhaps gained through work in the voluntary or local authority sector.  We are particularly keen to hear from applicants with experience in services to Children and Young People and/or racial justice, but are also interested to hear from those with experience more broadly across our AFF priority areas. This experience could have been gained from the delivering or commissioning programmes in these areas or indeed from a grant making perspective.

Highly organised, intellectually curious and pragmatic, this person will be able to unpick complex information and will be confident in assessing applicants' financial information. They will understand the charity funding world and importantly, the challenges faced by marginalised communities across the UK in the face of widespread inequity. The AFF team works with the Involving Young People's Collective, candidates should be able to demonstrate an understanding of the value of co-production.

IT confident and systematic in their approach, this person will also be helpful and empathetic in addition to being an excellent communicator, both in person and in written work. Excellent attention to detail, thorough and collaborative in their approach to work, this person will be a real team player whilst being able to work under their own steam, working in a fast-paced environment.

An understanding and experience of systems change principles and an appreciation of the nuanced intersections between the various priorities of the AFF programme will be important to success in this role. RESPONSIBILITIES

Grant Prospecting & Pipeline Development

• Research and maintain a pipeline of trusts and foundations aligned with OSH’s mission and growth priorities.

• Work closely with OSH leadership to align fundraising priorities with programme plans and organisational growth.

• Maintain up-to-date records on potential and active funders in OSH’s CRM.
   

Bid Writing & Submission

• Write and submit high-quality, tailored applications that articulate OSH’s impact, values and plans.

• Ensure applications are accurate, persuasive, and meet deadlines and funder requirements.

• Collaborate with the team to gather supporting information, budgets, and case studies.
   

Reporting & Stewardship

• Prepare timely and engaging reports for successful grants, ensuring compliance with funder requirements and strong stewardship.

• Maintain excellent records and monitor deadlines for reporting and renewals.
   

Cross-Organisational Contribution

• Coordinate annual impact reporting, including data analysis, case studies, and visual storytelling.

• Build strong internal relationships and stay connected to OSH’s work by attending occasional programmes, events and residentials.

• Contribute ideas and support the fundraising team’s broader work (e.g. campaigns, supporter communications).

The interim Chief Executive is an executive leader, who co-leads the Belgrade with the Artistic Director, reporting to the Board. They are responsible for driving strategic planning with SLT, programming, advocacy and fund-raising, stakeholder management, and overseeing the finance and operations of the organisation. They are one of the public faces of the Theatre, alongside the Artistic Director.

The interim CEO works in close collaboration with the Artistic Director to:

• curate a high quality artistic programme and support the organisation to deliver the artistic strategy.
• provide effective and inclusive leadership for the staff team, drawing on the collective strength of the SLT in their decision making.

The interim CEO drives the income generation for the Theatre, to achieve the balanced budget, and is chiefly responsible for the Main Stage visiting work programme.

The interim CEO line manages an SLT including a Chief Operations Officer (who in turn oversees finance, HR, production and operations); Director of Audiences and Growth, Director of Producing and Co-Creation and Head of Business Support.

• In collaboration with the Artistic Director;​
• Provide inspirational leadership and a clear sense of direction to the senior team and wider organisation​
• Drive and oversee SLT in the development and delivery of the Belgrade’s story of change and business plans that support the Vision, Mission and Values of The Belgrade, communicating these internally and externally.​
• Take an inclusive approach to line management of the SLT which fosters a culture of clear timely decision making and communication. ​
• Oversee the SLT to ensure the experience all artists, audiences, visitors receive from the Belgrade is inclusive, informed and enriching; and the building provides a welcoming, safe space.​
• Ensure a commitment to equality, diversity, inclusion, and environmental sustainability throughout the organisation.

Programming ​

• Work closely with the Artistic Director and SLT to curate and deliver a high-quality and relevant programme which balances artistic, financial and operational needs, taking chief responsibility for the visiting work.​
• Develop strategic relationships with a wide range of commercial producers and visiting companies to secure appropriate visiting work and negotiate the deals maximising the benefits of these partnerships for the commercial benefit and artistic reputation of the Belgrade.​
• Support the Artistic Director to shape the artistic strategy and creative direction of the theatre. ​
• In collaboration with the Artistic Director,​
• agree lead productions and secure co-producers​
• Bring in co-productions that enhance the programme.​

Governance​

• Work closely with the Chair and Board of Trustees to ensure best practice in governance, maintaining effective working relationships with all Trustees.​
• Support the implementation of the Board Effectiveness plan.​
• Develop and maintain robust and effective risk management systems with SLT.​
• Work closely with the SLT to ensure full compliance with all legal obligations and statutory requirements, including the preparation of Annual Report and Financial Statements, and annual returns to Companies House and the Charity Commission.​
• Carry out any other tasks that may be allocated by the Board of Trustees.​

  External Relations​

• Nurture excellent working relationships with key stakeholders, partners and supporters, including Arts Council England (ACE) and Coventry City Council (CCC); specifically, leading on NPO applications, and working to meet the objectives of CCC’s Cultural Plans.​
• Continue to develop The Belgrade’s role as a strategic partner and cultural leader locally and regionally.​
• Act as advocate and ambassador for the Belgrade, representing the organisation publicly, seeking out opportunities to raise the profile of the Belgrade. ​
• Lead on the Reporting to Funders, with support of Head of Business Support, and in collaboration with the AD.​
• The Interim CEO will represent the theatre in strategic and cultural development forums including Culture Works, and UK Theatre, in collaboration with the AD

Financial and Operational Overview​

• Oversee the Chief Operating Officer to ensure;​
• Robust financial management of the organisation, ensuring expenditure and commitments are made within available resources, risk is managed effectively.​
• Budgets are appropriately set and monitored.​
• Accounting information supplied in a timely manner and ensuring there is a strong cash-flow position at all times.​

​Income Generation​

• Take a pro-active approach to the continuing growth of the Belgrade’s commercial capability, ensuring all opportunities for generating income are maximised through;​
• Oversee the Director of Audiences and Growth and COO in driving the Belgrade’s commercial capacity, ensuring the commercial potential of the building is maximised, particularly through catering and conferencing.​
• Oversee the Director of Audiences and Growth in the delivery of The Belgrade’s fundraising strategy, playing a visible leading role in fundraising events as appropriate.

• The Belgrade operates a House Agreement based on the UK Theatre (formerly TMA)/BECTU (Broadcasting, Entertainment, Cinematograph and Theatre Union) Agreement and its Staff Handbook outlines the terms on sick pay, maternity leave and pay, paternity leave and pay, grievance and discipline and other relevant staff matters​
• Employees’ health and safety is of paramount importance, and Management insists that an employee obtains written express permission to take on any paid work or other employment during periods of TOIL (Time Off In Lieu) or holiday. No permission will be given for the first 28 days of holiday as this is a statutory requirement​
• On appointment the successful candidate must be able to provide the correct documents as proof of their right to work in the UK​​
• The candidate’s contract of employment with the Belgrade Theatre does not come into force until the first day of work​
• Staff are entitled to tickets for shows at the Belgrade Theatre, subject to particular conditions and 10% discount at the Theatre’s Café and Bars

• Working Hours: Your normal hours of work will be 39 hours per week over Monday to Friday, but we are flexible to those considering a 32 hour week post. • Pension: Auto-enrolment, with Belgrade currently making 3% employer contributions which will rise in line with legal requirements. The Theatre’s appointed pension provider is NEST. Further details are available​

• Location: This role is based at the Belgrade Theatre in Coventry. Short term relocation / accommodation can be considered as part of the renumeration package.

The Head of Finance is a key member of Tara Theatre’s senior management team, overseeing the company’s financial processes and ensuring compliance with statutory requirements. They will report to Alys Beider, Tara’s new Executive Director and Joint Chief Executive and support with strategic long-term financial and business planning as well as annual and quarterly budgeting.

They are responsible for maintaining the company accounts, preparing quarterly management accounts, cashflow forecasts and financial reports and analysis for the executive team and the board of trustees.

Tara Theatre is a company limited by guarantee and a charity. It has two trading subsidiaries, Tara Productions and Tara Enterprises. We currently have an annual turnover of circa £1 million. We manage our finances and payroll in-house, currently using Xero.

As our Head of Finance, you may have a background in the arts and culture sector, however we are open to a range of skillsets gained from working in business or charity environments and encourage applications from individuals from a diverse range of backgrounds and lived experiences.

The Role

We are seeking a dynamic and highly organised Project Manager with experience working in or with schools to lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of our careers-related activities. You will also work alongside the Mentoring Project Manager to manage several mentoring cohorts, serving as the key point of contact for both schools and partner companies, while upholding our robust safeguarding standards.
