Global Health 50/50 (GH5050) provides rigorous data and insight in the pursuit of gender equality within global health and across other sectors, systems and frameworks. Established in 2017, GH5050 operates as an independent, evidence-driven initiative with charitable status registered in the UK. While founded to monitor and act on inequalities and inequities in the global health sector, GH5050 is now embarking on an ambitious expansion into new sectors, including law and justice and finance and economics building upon our proven model of data-driven advocacy. By leveraging partnerships, particularly in diverse geographies, engaging stakeholders, and amplifying marginalized voices, we aim to make enduring contributions to the global pursuit of gender parity and social justice.

Context

Through our flagship report and Gender and Health Index, GH5050 provides the only birds-eye view of gender, inclusion and equality in the global health system today. The report assesses 200 organisations annually across a core set of variables on policies and practices to tackle power and privilege imbalances within the workplace, the gender and geography of organisational leadership, and whether gender is considered in any organisations' external-facing programmatic or policy work.

In addition to the annual report, GH5050 also produces a range of other evidence-informed outputs, including thematic reports relating to equality and diversity in the workplace (e.g. on gender pay gap), and policy briefs about strategies for organisational change. 

GH5050 is expanding into new sectors beyond health and will increasingly support analysis at the country level. The successful candidate for this post is expected to play an integral role in contributing to the growth of GH5050, as well as taking a leading role in developing these new areas of work and leading and managing research staff across three sectoral workstreams.

Role Summary

This is an exciting opportunity to play a leadership role in a world-leading gender accountability and advocacy initiative. You will join a small and growing team of staff working at GH5050, taking responsibility for a large body of research and its associated impact. This role will be instrumental in exercising leadership for research and impact as GH5050 expands into two new sectors and more work at the country level.

We are looking for a motivated, dynamic, proactive, organised and experienced team player to assume this key leadership role. Role Responsibilities

Ensure delivery of rigorous and impactful research outputs across several thematic sectors at global and country levels: Overall responsibility for production (research design, coordination, time management, analysis, writing, production) and dissemination of rigorous research outputs including reports, indices and data visualisations. This will include identifying, liaising with and guiding external writers that may be required to support the delivery of outputs.

Manage, develop and motivate a diverse team of dispersed multisectoral and multidisciplinary researchers: Responsible for line management of sector specialists (health, law/justice and economics/finance) and their teams which include consultant researchers dispersed across the globe. This will entail recruitment, performance management, talent development and team building of GH5050 researchers as well as capacity building of researchers in partner organisations.

Manage a range of partnerships: Responsible for developing, maintaining and growing research and advocacy partnerships with external teams across the globe, through the application of principles and practice of equitable research partnerships.

Report to external stakeholders: Ensuring timely and accurate reporting of activities and impact to GH5050 donors using specified templates for reporting.

Ensure internal communications: Provision of regular updates on research progress, including identifying and flagging risks to achieving research objectives. Identification of risk mitigation or management strategies as appropriate.

Ensure external communications-including stakeholder engagement: In collaboration with GH5050 communications and engagement specialists, ensuring that research outputs are disseminated for maximum impact. Developing and maintaining regular engagement and communications with organisations included in the sectoral reports (at global and national levels). Willingness to travel to present at external conferences, stakeholder meetings, and other events as appropriate.

Track impact: Develop and maintain a rigorous system to track the impact of GH5050 research and engagement. Work with communications and advocacy staff to capture and communicate impact and stories of change.

Ensure sound financial management: Budget responsibility for research projects and activities. Regular liaison with head of operations and head of budget in GH5050 to ensure that spend and projections are on track to be balanced. Ensure that research teams report expenditures according to agreed budget parameters and regulations (set by UK Charity Commission, donors, auditors).

Support resource mobilisation: In collaboration with the rest of the senior team, cultivate relationships with existing and potential supporters of the work of GH5050 and identify opportunities for new research work and collaborations. Take ownership of grant and to a limited degree peer-review academic grant proposal development.

While peer-reviewed publications are not a primary aim of GH5050, we encourage our researchers to publish in the academic literature and when they do so to practice equitable partnership practices in relation to authorship.

Person specification

· PhD level qualification preferred. If Masters level qualification then equivalent and demonstrable relevant professional level experience

· Recognised thought leader in research, preferable in relation to gender equality

· Experience conducting mixed methods research, including innovative methods of data collection, indicator development, database management, and qualitative and quantitative analysis and interpretation

· Experience in research project management, ideally within an academic and/or policy environment

· Experience in policy analysis and developing recommendations based on this analysis

· Knowledge of gender and its relationship to: (i) research/evidence methods (e.g. policy analysis); iii) opportunities/discrimination in the workplace; (iii) and/or approaches to organisational change, would be an advantage

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English, and experience producing clear, concise, engaging and evidence-led written outputs such as reports, policy briefs, academic papers and op-eds

· Experience of effectively managing a team, with excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to build collaborative professional relationships with a wide range of partners across diverse contexts, including whilst working remotely

· Experience working independently and effective decision making to manage competing priorities and ensure projects are delivered on time and to a high standard

· High level of proficiency in MS Excel and experience in using a wide range of software, including data visualisation packages

We have an exciting opportunity for you to join us as a Trainee Project Worker or Trainee Floating Support Worker at services across London, including Westminster, Lewisham, Camden, Islington and Redbridge.

Trainee Project Worker roles are based in supported accommodation services, where we aim to prepare clients for independence and positively impact their quality of life. These services provide temporary and longer-term accommodation for people who may have associated difficulties relating to mental health, complex support needs and trauma. In this role, you will be working on a shift rota, which will include working early shifts: 8am - 3:30pm/4pm and /or late shifts: 3:30pm - 10:30pm and could include some weekends and bank holidays.

We may also have Trainee Floating Support Worker roles, working to support a caseload of people who are at greater risk of homelessness with a focus on addressing housing-related issues, improving quality of life and promoting independence. Your support will include help with benefits issues, mental and physical ill health, hoarding and antisocial behaviours within a recovery framework and structured key working assessment. This work will involve regular travel in London, visiting clients in their own homes or other locations. 

As a Trainee, you will be working in a varied and rewarding role amongst a committed and supportive team. The training programme will teach you how to provide this support to clients, enabling them to achieve the objectives they have collaboratively created in their support and action plans. You will also assist clients with routine tasks and their goals relating to training, education, or employment.

As a Trainee, you will receive increments to your salary at six months and at nine months (subject to successful completion of the Trainee Programme).

We are seeking people with transferable skills and experience gained from a varied background, who will demonstrate a commitment and passion for the work that we do. Richmond Carers Centre, a network partner of the Carers Trust, is a registered charity providing information, support, advice and a voice for carers living and caring in London Borough of Richmond upon Thames.

Helping Carers to Live Well is our organisational aim. We provide a targeted service to young carers, aged 5 – 18 years. Young carers, provide vital emotional and practical support to a family member with a care need including sibling young carers. Their care role can have an impact on their wellbeing, education and social opportunities. ROLE CONTEXT

ABOUT ALL SAINTS: There has never been a more exciting time to join the team at All Saints. As part of a new project to revitalise the church for the Island, we are planting the first-ever contemporary service into the Church as part of the HTB network of churches (including Harbour Church Portsmouth). We are currently building an amazing team to bring the vision to life. So, this is a rare opportunity to join a new foundational team and community and to be part of the team that sets the vision, values, and culture for the next phase of ministry at All Saints as we explore what it looks like to play our part in the evangelisation of the nation, the revitalisation of the Church, and the transformation of society.

ABOUT RYDE: Ryde is just a 10-minute journey on the hovercraft from Portsmouth Harbour. Ryde is known as ‘the gateway to the Island with several main travel points located within it. It also has a long stretch of sandy beach and lots of independent shops and cafes. The largest town on the Isle of Wight with a population of 37k. The Church is a landmark on the island with the spire visible from many places around the Isle of Wight and from the mainland projecting beyond the town skyline. The socioeconomic makeup of the town is very mixed and it is a great vibrant place to live and work.

ROLE PURPOSE

This is an amazing opportunity for someone who thrives on operational excellence and loves managing a project to completion to have a hugely impactful and pivotal role in a church entering a new phase of its life. You will be a key part of the leadership team and oversee the operational management of All Saint’s Ryde and assist other Ryde churches in the plurality group; ensuring structures and systems are in place to enable ministry and best use resources within our church, to advance the vision of the church. The Operations Lead will work with the Rector and Team Vicars to achieve the strategic objectives of All Saints in overseeing the operational, organisational, and financial aspects of the church.

KEY TASKS AND DELIVERABLES

Oversee Operational Excellence - Oversee the important day-to-day operations of the church and its buildings and hold oversight responsibility for: Project roll-out; Health and Safety; Food Hygiene, Fire Assessment; Risk Management; Infrastructure; GDPR and Accessibility issues.

• Develop and lead the ongoing strategic plan for the church’s activity in consultation with the wider team.
• Collect and collate data and process information to provide reports as required about church activity.
• Lead the process of planning, designing, developing and implementing church operating and governance procedures, processes and systems.
• Work as part of the leadership team to develop the church’s calendar of events and activities.
• Collect data regarding progress concerning the church’s key objectives and report regularly to relevant stakeholders.

Lead on rhythms to ensure great delivery and communication.

• Oversee the smooth operational running, development and communications of Sunday services & events.
• Responsible for the creation, implementation and ongoing development of excellent systems and processes to support the growth of the ministries and staff structure.

• Help to recruit, lead, onboard and equip a team of staff and volunteers to support the various functions of the church.
• Work with the team to develop and implement a relevant training strategy for staff and volunteers.
• Work with the leadership team to oversee the implementation of the performance management process to measure and evaluate progress against the strategic goals of the church.
• Responsible for ensuring all church policies, and staff handbooks are up to date and compliant with safeguarding, charity and employment law.
• Support the governance structures of the church and the churches working in plurality.
• Day-to-day oversight of the finances in conjunction with Church Wardens and Rector.

SPECIAL CONDITIONS OF EMPLOYMENT

Being part an active part of the worship of the Christian Church is a genuine occupational requirement for this role. About the Role

Essex Pedal Power is a flagship programme led by Essex County Council and Active Essex to support more people in deprived areas to cycle by removing the main barriers to cycling. This post is part funded by the Sport England Local Delivery Pilot (LDP) for Essex. You will lead our Essex Pedal Power team in Colchester working collaboratively to maintain an overview of engagement and impact whilst seeking to maximise opportunities for partnership development. We are looking for an individual with experience of positively leading teams to deliver successful outcomes.

You will report directly to the Community Development Manager.

Main Duties

1.Manage the operational delivery and development of the Essex Pedal Power programme with a focus on collaborating with communities and partner organisations in the design and delivery to promote active citizenship and physical activity.

2.Monitor the budget to ensure outcomes are met.

3.Develop and maintain a strong delivery team made up of bike mechanic and project support staff, and a team of volunteers ensuring the team have access to development opportunities and support on a one to one and team basis. 

4.Devise, understand and use asset-based community development approaches to community development and work with your team/communities to understand priorities and co-design initiatives. Ensure that delivery mitigates or removes the barriers to participation.

5.To evaluate impact and outcomes of projects to provide organisational learning and feedback for funders and stakeholders.

6.Lead on the implementation of the delivery plan in collaboration with a wide range of partners, to arrange for logistics of bike allocations and storage.

7.Administer an admin system to manage participant applications, eligibility and queries of those in the community eligible to receive a free bike. 

8.Co-produce the project with the local communities and locally trusted organisations and ensure continuous engagement and communication to ensure that eligible citizens receive a good quality experience.

9.Work closely with Active Essex communications team to undertake effective communication with applicants, stakeholders, and partners. Ensure all communications and marketing aligns with the Essex Pedal Power branding guidelines. 

10.To support the development of informal and formal cycling groups and clubs. Organise ongoing events to bring the recipients of bikes together and build a community cycling culture and togetherness. 

11.Working closely and engage with; volunteers, citizens, partners and staff in joint design and collaborative planning. Ensure that the design and delivery of the project and future initiatives are in line with aspirations of the priority communities. Ensure all volunteers are safeguarded and supported through the use of the TAWS volunteer management system.

12.Co-ordinate frequent cycle training sessions and bike maintenance sessions for bike recipients.

13.Develop a pool of qualified freelance learn to ride instructors and Ride Leaders to deliver local training and led rides.

14.Using innovation to encourage the uptake and increase of cycling. Ensure that the outcomes of the project support collaborative outcomes with citizens and other partners. 

15.Play a key role in the monitoring and evaluation plan, through collecting, analysing and sharing data (quantitative and qualitative) working with the Active Essex Evaluation Researcher for Essex Pedal Power and with TAWS Data & Insight team.

16.Ensure that all health and safety requirements are understood by staff and complied with on a consistent basis; lead and maintain the development of a risk management culture within the team to ensure that innovation and delivery is balanced with citizen safety. 

17.Produce oral and written reports on engagement level, activity delivery and the development of new programmes / projects.

About the Role

In this strategic post as the Community Development Manager for Colchester you will lead and develop our Essex Pedal Power programme and work to develop your input into the business strategy across Colchester. You will play a vital role to ensure that the organisation’s contractual obligations and goals are achieved by collaborating with communities and partner organisations in the design and delivery of interventions to promote active citizenship. 1.To plan, develop and deliver high quality programmes, projects and interventions and ensuring all are in line with the overall strategy and objectives of the organisation and that they meet contractual obligations.

2.Manage the operational delivery and development of a range of funded programmes including the Essex Pedal Power programme with a focus on collaborating with communities and partner organisations in the design and delivery to promote active citizenship and physical activity.

3.Manage and monitor the budget with finance representatives from TAWS and Active Essex and support the relationship management with existing funders and the identification of potential new funders.

4.Devise, understand and use asset-based community development approaches to community development and work with your team/communities to understand priorities and co-design initiatives. Ensure that delivery mitigates or removes the barriers to participation.

5.To evaluate impact and outcomes of projects to provide organisational learning and feedback for funders and stakeholders.

6.Keep abreast of new and emergent thinking across wellbeing, community development and tackling inequalities as well as innovation and leadership in field of work.

7.Responsible for building strong relationships and developing working partnerships across a wide range of local stakeholders.

8.Represent The Active Wellbeing Society across a variety of forums and stakeholder meetings.

9.Co-produce the project with the local communities and locally trusted organisations and ensure continuous engagement and communication to ensure that eligible citizens receive a good quality experience.

10.Play a key role in the monitoring and evaluation plan, through collecting, analysing and sharing data (quantitative and qualitative) working with the Active Essex Evaluation Researcher for Essex Pedal Power and with TAWS Data & Insight team.

11.Produce oral and written reports on engagement level, activity delivery and the development of new programmes / projects.

12.Carry out all other duties as maybe reasonably assigned from time to time and with the level of this Job Description.

The National Flood Forum is a charitable organisation that puts flooded people at the heart of their policies and the work they strive to achieve. We are the only organisation dedicated to issues around flooding. We give support to people at risk before, during and after flood catastrophes and work to achieve a voice for those at the grassroots of flood risk. About the role

The General Counsel's Division (‘GCD') is a department led by the General Counsel and Company Secretary, and is made up of the Legal and Compliance, Company Secretariat, Safeguarding and Risk teams.

In your Coordinator role you will use your drive, initiative, strong organisational and excellent communication skills, playing an integral role in bringing the GCD together to align and deliver on departmental priorities. You'll be a catalyst for the development of strong relationship-building across the GCD by planning and executing key departmental activities, and you'll collect insights from across the organisation to help raise the profile of the GCD within Save the Children UK (SCUK).

In your governance role, you'll use your baseline understanding of good governance to ensure that the processes you support are administered transparently and efficiently – streamlining them for more effective use wherever possible. You'll be skilled at accurately documenting meetings, discussions, and decisions, and you'll be consistent in the quality of your written output.

Department Coordination

Working with the General Counsel & Company Secretary, provide proactive administrative and coordination support to the GCD. This will include:

• Coordinating a range of GCD meetings including scheduling, preparing agendas, taking minutes etc.
• Driving the planning and execution of department meeting agendas, internal communications plans, projects and initiatives.
• Organising and coordinating departmental events and activities, including training sessions and team-building events.
• Maintaining and updating the GCD's intranet and SharePoint pages, ensuring that it's a well-resourced hub for department staff and other internal users.

Governance Assistance & Process Management

Provide minute-taking and logistical support to the Enterprise Risk Management Team in their clerking and administration of SCUK's Audit and Risk Committee of the Board of Trustees (‘ARC') including:

• Scheduling meetings and managing related diaries.
• Booking rooms for ARC meetings; coordinate logistics and supplies.
• Attending ARC meetings and recording accurate and concise minutes, capturing key points, actioning items, and decisions made during meetings, distributing minutes after meetings.
• Provide support with the administration of SCUK's related entities' board meetings, including scheduling meetings, booking meeting rooms, preparing board packs, distributing papers and taking minutes of meetings, as requested.

Act as the organisation's policies governance coordinator which will include:

• Managing the process for the review, development and approval of SCUK's policies in view of SCUK's overarching governance framework.
• Keeping the Policies Directory on the intranet up to date.
• Supporting policy authors as they navigate SCUK's policies governance process and devise simple initiatives to raise organisational awareness of its existence and purpose.
• Act as SCUK's Focal Point for the Save the Children Association (SCA) Mutual Accountability Framework (MAF) annual assessment

About you
