Freedom for Animals is seeking an experienced Digital Marketing and Brand Communications Manager to work with the Campaigns and Fundraising functions to develop and grow our digital channels. The successful candidate will be a passionate and creative individual with excellent knowledge of creating and disseminating key messages about our work to a range of audiences as well as strong brand skills to communicate the brand values of the organisation across all marketing activity.

Purpose of Role:

To work with the Director, other staff and the Board of Trustees to develop and deliver an effective digital marketing and branded communications strategy to ensure Freedom for Animals is able to deliver its campaign objectives and build its brand and ensure brand loyalty.

Key Responsibilities

● To ensure all material adheres to the brand values, identity and marketing strategy, aligning this with the strategic plan for the organisation

● Plan, develop and schedule creative and innovative social media content to reach Freedom for Animals’ key audiences across a range of social media platforms including Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and TikTok

● Work with Fundraising Manager and Campaigns Manager to produce high quality content for website, e-newsletters, e-zines including key messages and high quality infographics

● Monitor and analyse Freedom for Animals social media platforms and create a set of metrics to measure social media success

● Maximise Search Engine Optimisation to ensure our key messages reach as wide an audience as possible

● Oversee brand compliance, ensuring all staff adhere to brand guidelines

● Develop a branded marketing plan with Fundraising with oversight on Campaigns activity looking for opportunities for promoting the organisation and its fundraising

● Be responsible for the design and production of all FFA printed materials, ensuring they create brand engagement, are compelling to read, working alongside Fundraising, Campaigns and other key staff

● Develop, manage and deliver the Charity’s digital strategy, aligning this with key brand values and ensuring FFA has a strong branded presence on all digital media channels

● Lead on website management, supported by Fundraising and Campaigns, ensuring all content is up to date and accurate across the FFA websites (Main, SEA LIES and mobile zoos)

● Lead on content production such as blogs and web articles, supported by Campaign staff and volunteers

About the role

We are looking for an enthusiastic and proactive person to join our small yet ambitious fundraising and communications team at Cherry Trees as Fundraising Assistant. Whilst support and administration are at the heart of this role, you will play a key part in supporting the team with sight and activity across all fundraising areas and could be a great opportunity for someone looking to take their first steps into fundraising.

Key responsibilities

1. Fundraising

• To be the first point of contact for all fundraising enquiries that come in by telephone, email, and post.
• Support the team by recording and sending fundraising materials to those raising money for us through events and challenge event.

• Provide support to the events and individual giving teams and their programme of activity.

3. Information Management

• Using the fundraising database (Donorfy) ensure all activity and correspondence is recorded accurately, as well as supporting our team’s financial processes and data export needs (training will be provided).
• Be responsible for ensuring all records are maintained/updated on the fundraising database.
• To develop an in-depth knowledge of the database to be the go-to person, and identify opportunities to support your own activity and that of the team.
• Continuously aim to improve the efficiency of administration processes necessary for the smooth running of the fundraising department.
• Ensure that data processing is in accordance with GDPR compliance.

4. Finance and other

• To ensure all donations are processed and on the fundraising database, correctly, and supporters are thanked in a timely manner.
• To process the weekly fundraising income and financial reconciliation, with the support of volunteers (training will be provided).
• To undertake other reasonable activities as required by your line manager.

As Fundraising Executive, you will be responsible for ensuring our supporters receive a positive and rewarding experience, as well as providing administration support for the fundraising team, including assisting on events and campaigns.

We are looking for a motivated, confident individual with strong organisational skills and an impeccable attention to detail, who is passionate about fundraising and our ambition and purpose. The successful applicant will be expected to have a broad understanding of a range of income generation methods and communication styles, and the charity sector.

You will play a key role in attracting, building and managing relationships with a range of supporters including individual donors and fundraisers, community groups, local businesses, and volunteers. From initial enquiries to fundraisers and doners, to taking responsibility for our thanking, you will look after our complete supporter care journey and ensure that the Foundation provides an exceptional experience for our supporters.

You will develop key relationships within the Foundation and Club, providing support to the rest of the Fundraising and Engagement Team as required. Some weekend and evening working will be required as part of the role. As Fundraising Training and Engagement Officer you’ll be delivering inspiring training presentations to our agency face to face fundraisers. You’ll also be working with main agency contacts to help them deliver their own training sessions.

Fundraising Development Manager

The Bike Project (TBP) is looking for a Fundraising Development Manager. This role will focus on gaining support from both corporate partners and major donors alongside line managing the Fundraising Executive. 

This is a key growth area for TBP, the post holder will have the opportunity to make the role their own leading their own income stream whilst being supported by the Head of Fundraising and CEO. The Bike Project has an entrepreneurial culture born out of our online and physical bike shop which raises considerable income on an annual basis. We are now keen to grow our trading further through developing a new bike servicing model. This role will lead the development and roll out of this service alongside developing traditional corporate partnerships and relationships with major donors.

Being a small charity, we work in an agile manner which allows for creative ideas to flourish and new ideas to be implemented quickly. We hold donation sessions weekly out of our London and Birmingham workshops, so there is opportunity to see the impact of your work first hand.

As Head of Fundraising, you will be responsible for overseeing all voluntary fundraising income streams, including Individual Giving, Trusts & Foundations, Challenge Events, Corporate, Major Donors, Legacy and in-Memory, raising £3million per year. Using your strong leadership experience you will lead a dedicated team of 8 and work with the Executive Director of fundraising to provide high levels of stewardship, maintaining, uplifting and securing new funders and partners as well as developing new ideas to increasing income generation.

To be an excellent Head of Fundraising, you will need:

• Proven track record and experience of fundraising, securing and managing five and six figure funders
• Experience of successfully setting and implementing strategy for raising income from voluntary funding sources
• Experience of line management and management of a team

Responsibilities:

Product and Project Management

• To help plan, deliver and develop portfolio of products, across both virtual events, community and event fundraising disciplines, to achieve KPIs and income targets.
• To project manage and lead on the successful delivery of fundraising products, ensuring clear schedules are in place and internal teams and other stakeholders are briefed and managed appropriately.
• To develop and deliver communication and content plans, maximising engagement from supporters and, in turn, remittance and average gift.

Supporter Care and Stewardship

• To help develop, and lead on the delivery of, effective and engaging cross-channel supporter journeys for participants including, but not limited to, email, social and direct mail, and develop resources, content and materials as required.
• To test and optimise supporter journeys to maximise remittance, average gift and retention, taking recommendations forward to provide the best possible supporter experience and ensure KPIs are met or exceeded.

Marketing and Digital

• To work with the fundraising products manager, internal teams and the community & events marketing team to develop effective marketing activity.
• To help develop approaches and assets, such as content and resources, for products in your care to drive engagement from supporters, remittance and average gift, across a range of channels.
• To work with digital engagement and the community & events marketing team to monitor and report on performance, including the most effective channels, creative and audiences, to help ensure investment is maximised.

About You

Ideally, you will be someone with a real drive and a passion for charity fundraising. Who is digitally focused, driven by insight and understands the importance of great stewardship experience.

You'll have experience in a range of fundraising activities including virtual events. Adept at supporter stewardship and journeys through a variety of channels, such as digital communities, phone, and email. You'll have a proven track record of achieving and exceeding KPIs. As well as being highly organised, comfortable managing projects and if needed the ability to work to tight deadlines
