Location: Hybrid. The post holder will be contractually based at Hospice House,Kings cross London. This role is eligible for the Hospice UK Hybrid Working Arrangement from the start of employment.

Our office is a short walk from King’s Cross station in London. For this role, we need someone to come into the office at least one day a week, on a Tuesday. A day where all of Income Generation come into the office. You can work remotely for the rest of the time. Equally, you may prefer to work from the office full-time. We encourage all colleagues to visit member hospices to help inform our work and you may be able to work from there.

The Team: 

We are a team of three that sit within the wider Income Generation and Grants directorate. The Compassionate Employers team includes the Compassionate Employers Programme Lead, Corporate Development Manager and the Compassionate Employers Executive.

Working together, we aim to support employers who need our workplace services, ultimately raising funds for hospices throughout the UK. 

The Compassionate Employers programme and this role sit within our Corporate Development Team, within Income Generation and Grants. Compassionate Employers is a key part of Hospice UK’s Income Generation strategy. 

Our Corporate Development Team works closely within and across the department. The focus in the team is on building partnerships with businesses, through commercial activity, fundraising or strategic support. Current corporate partnerships include several ‘charity of the year’ relationships, conferences and events, sponsorship, cause-related marketing partnerships, a supplier directory and a jobs board. As well as driving positive change for people affected by terminal illness and bereavement in the workplace, Compassionate Employers is an important income generation stream and ‘door-opener’ for Hospice UK.

Brain Research UK (BRUK) funds world-class research to discover the causes, develop new treatments and improve the lives of all those who are affected by neurological conditions.

The role

Reporting to the Events and Community Fundraising Manager, you will play a key role as part of the Fundraising Team by providing the highest levels of fundraising and event administration support to ensure the provision of seamless, excellent supporter care and assistance to our supporters.  Specific fundraising streams will include, but not be limited to, London Marathon, Other Runs and Challenges, Community Fundraising, Special Events and other streams as needed.

Whilst this role is primarily providing administrative and stewardship support for fundraising and event activities, there will be opportunities to be involved with all other aspects of the charity and the development of future fundraising initiatives and events.

The successful candidate will need to be a good team player, able to work independently; flexible; hard working and prepared to play an enthusiastic role in helping to deliver excellent supporter care and increased fundraising income. Responsibilities

In this position you will:

· Be a primary contact point for our London Marathon runners to provide excellent customer care and increase fundraising potential

· Answer general public and supporter enquiries that come in by telephone, email, social media and WhatsApp groups and mail in a way that makes them feel important and valued regardless of the nature of their enquiry

· Assist with the processing of all income (cash, cheques, online platform donations)  correctly into the Donorfy database, and thank or pass to relevant team members for thanking in a timely manner

· Record as necessary enquiries, correspondence and responses on our Donorfy database

· Be a primary point of contact for our Challenge Event fundraisers.  Build excellent relationships with them and provide materials and support, liaising before, during and following their activity/event as needed

· To work with the team to provide support for key fundraising activities such as the London Marathon and other challenge and running events.  This will include assisting with event administration, proactively making telephone calls in response to applications for places in London Marathon and to encourage fundraising, answering telephone calls, responding to emails WhatsApp and Facebook messages, thanking participants, sending materials to participants and updating records on Donorfy

· Monitoring Social Media and assisting with providing content for these channels/platforms

· Communications support: this may include contributing content for appeals, website and enewsletters and will include monitoring stewardship schedules and deadlines where needed

· Act as liaison for BRUK’s administration where needed with our fulfilment house and/or other suppliers

About the opportunity

Fundraising is critical to delivering our mission and ensuring we can support as many children and young people facing disadvantage to open doors to their future.  The Philanthropy Team as a whole has a combined target income for the current year (2023-24) of £1.83 million (growing to £2.35m as our target for next year), of which approximately £850k is from corporate donors and their foundations, £100k is from individuals, and the remaining from trusts and foundations. We have been successful year on year in increasing our fundraising base by building secure multi-year partnerships.
 

We are looking for a Fundraising Manager to work within our passionate Philanthropy Team to help grow our fundraised income and develop and maintain an effective, high-quality funding pipeline. Focussing predominantly on eliciting funding from trusts and foundations, and working closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO and Corporate Partnerships Manager, the Fundraising Manager will ensure the effective management of existing funder relations and take responsibility for ensuring Action Tutoring meets its reporting obligations. The main purpose of this role is to grow the venue hire pipeline of business and deliver venue hire events and specialist group events to excellent standards ensuring repeat business and maximising new sales opportunities. • To deal with all venue sales enquiries in a timely and efficient manner.

• To produce venue hire literature and ensure that all material relating to the venue facilities is kept up to date.

Venue Hire Administration: 

• To maintain safe working practices in conjunction with Health & Safety policies. 
• Work collaboratively with Buildings Manager to communicate key information taking place across Burlington House. 
• To liaise with AV company with regards to timings, payments, staff needs, training and use of equipment / set up for events. 
• To liaise with caterers with regards to timings, payments, staff attending, training and room set up for events. 
• To produce a weekly booking sheet for all staff to communicate bookings across the building. 
• To produce and meet budgets for events in consultation with the Head of Events 
• Manage the venue hire diary, ensuring it is kept up to date and all bookings are accurately recorded.

Event Operations:  

• To deliver all venue hire and specialist group events to excellent standards.
• To liaise with speakers and venue hire delegates and communicate all logistical details in a timely fashion including H&S briefings, PEEP plans and Risk Assessments. 
• To make any other logistical arrangements that are necessary for the smooth running of events covering timings, parking, room set-ups etc. 
• To ensure that all events are accessible and organised within the disability discrimination legislation. 
• To support the events team with ad-hoc events out of hours where needed across the year.

Teamwork:

Other responsibilities and expectations: 

• The post holder is expected to work flexibly to respond to changing needs at The Geological Society.  As the Conference Office operates a room hire service it is expected that the postholder will undertake out-of-hours work to ensure that this service can operate.  Excess hours worked will be compensated for by time off in lieu.

About the role

We are looking for an experienced Senior Corporate Fundraising Manager to work closely with the Head of Programme Funding to drive new donor engagement and secure sustainable, multi-year funding. At Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice we care for children and young adults with life-shortening and life-threatening conditions. Our support services are wide ranging and bespoke to each family including end of life treatment and care, respite short breaks, counselling, sibling support groups, music therapy, home visits and much much more. 

It costs more than £5m each year to keep our doors open for families across South Yorkshire and beyond. We receive around 15% of our funding from government and the rest is sourced by our Income Generation team.  

The role:

An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Income Generation team at Bluebell Wood and we are now on the lookout for an experienced fundraiser to join us and take on the responsibility of developing, implementing and delivering the hospice’s Individual Giving portfolio.  

This is an area with a potential for significant growth over the next 1-3 years and beyond, and we are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable self-starter to steer the next chapter of our progress and development as our Individual Giving Fundraiser.

The successful candidate will oversee the delivery and administration of Bluebell Wood’s Individual Giving income streams (in memory, legacy and regular giving) and work with the Individual Giving Manager to plan and implement a strategy to increase income growth in this area.

The ACNS is a key senior role within the Nursing team, acting as the clinical specialist lead and overseeing the community nursing service for a defined area on a rotation basis (non-clinical).

Working with an integrated team of nurses, you will contribute to the overall care of patient and families referred to St Giles within the community setting.
