Job Purpose 

This is a new role created to assist the small but growing team at SKT with our primary goal of engaging and mobilising residents in the neighbourhood we serve, numbering around 7500 people. SKT will assume management of community and event spaces at the heart of the neighbourhood this year and we are preparing service providers to make room for community voice in shaping local services. Involving residents in shaping their future is central to our purpose, whether by ensuring local assets and amenities work for them, or by influencing service delivery. This makes the Community Engagement Coordinator role an exciting and important addition to the team.

Main Tasks: 

Volunteer Recruitment, Training and Coordination  

• Recruit and maintain a team of twenty active volunteers from the local community to assist in community building initiatives.

• Develop and deliver a volunteer programme to engage the South Kilburn community which will likely include, but not limited to: 

• Community research and consultation 

• Public space improvements (greening, activation etc)

• Promoting community cohesion through events 

• Train volunteers in peer-engagement and consultation practice, 

• Induct and supervise skilled volunteers, as necessary. 

Community Cohesion and Wellbeing 

• Encourage and inspire volunteers to work as a team, take ownership of each activity, and to celebrate collective successes,

• Involve volunteers in planning and delivering community projects and events. 

Resident Voice 

•  Collaborate with the Community Engagement, Partnership and Marketing Manager to develop and deliver a consultation plan to better understand residents’ needs and priorities,

• Conduct outreach in the community with trained volunteers, including door-to-door canvassing, satisfaction surveys, pop-up stalls etc.

• Collect and systematically analyse information gathered through outreach and community consultation.

Widening Participation 

• Increase rates of community participation, belonging and pride across all segments of the community in South Kilburn. 

• Use creative methods to increase engagement with decision making from all sections of our diverse community.

• Contribute to a new system of representative community governance, enabling the resident body to speak with one voice,

• With partners, support the coordination of community events in South Kilburn.

Empowerment and Progression 

• Maintain continued awareness of local opportunities and train volunteers to disseminate accurate information and signposting, 

• Seek opportunities for volunteer progression including supporting those looking to do so in to work and work-placements with local businesses.

Partnerships and information sharing 

• Maintain relationships with a wide range of stakeholders including partner charities, volunteers, Brent Council officers and community members, 

• Work with the Communications and Engagement officer to disseminate useful information to residents. 

 Other 

• Be an ambassador for SKT and ensure our values of joy, collaboration and inclusion are upheld by the volunteer team. 

• Be responsible for organising team building days and social events for SKT staff, volunteers, and Trustees. 

• As we are a small but growing team, the Community Coordinator is expected to participate in team actions, mobilising through outreach and events to increase our collective impact for the community.

About the role:

As the Trusts and Foundations Fundraiser you will use your core knowledge and skill to reflect on strategy, relationship building and leading our charitable profile and income streams.

About ICT at Hope into Action 

ICT is critical to delivery of the Hope into Action vision of every church lovingly making a home for those experiencing homelessness. We have experienced rapid growth across the UK and are now in 35 towns. Our ICT provides a vital window for each town in the Hope into Action network of people, policies, document storage and training resources. Our internal ICT capacity is mission critical. Our first line helpdesk is outsourced. This role will take the lead on several key projects that will ready out ICT infrastructure for the next phase of growth. 

About the role 

Our ICT Network Lead is both a strategic and user-empowering role. For this role, you would be someone who is flexible with an ability to keep systems running smoothly whilst at the same time pursuing improvements.

Hope into Action has a strong culture of continual improvement and pursuing excellence. Working with the Head of Operations, you will immediately focus on the implementation of our HOPE Processes project to enable all our projects to realise significant efficiencies in managing significant numbers of processes connected to our houses, tenants, investors and donors.

Whilst progressing other projects, you will oversee the induction and training of new staff and franchise partners. You will manage the outsourcing of IT contracts, including help desk, finance, CRM databases, mobiles, landline, internet and printers / copiers. Oversee the on-going development of the SharePoint Online site as a robust efficient tool for day-to-day use. You will introduce new ways to monitor the satisfaction with ICT across the network and take responsibility for data security.

The Director of Income and Engagement within Women's Aid is a key role within the Executive Leadership Team (ELT). Fundraising Manager

Responsibilites:

Fundraising – General 

• To deliver a continuous fundraising operation to meet the short, medium and long-term revenue needs of the charity as determined by the CEO and Board of Trustees 
• Establish and maintain positive relationships across the organisation and an in-depth understanding of the charity’s needs and priorities to ensure your fundraising activity contributes positively 
• Development and maintenance of key resources to support our fundraising activity, including case for support, programme schedule and budgets 
• To develop corporate sponsorship proposals and be prepared to respond promptly to funding offers and opportunities

Community Fundraising and Communications Engagement Assistant

£22,500 to £26,000 (FTE dependent on experience). Responsible to the Fundraising Manager and Marcomms Manager. Two days per week (worked over three days if preferable. Based at Jecca’s House

• Assist in the creation, planning, setting up and working at fundraising and community awareness events 
• Face to face community work in the form of hosting coffee mornings and fundraising/engagement events

MARCOMMS/Fundraising – General 

• To help the Fundraising Manager deliver a continuous fundraising operation to meet the short, medium and long-term revenue needs of the charity as determined by the CEO and Board of Trustees 
• Establish and maintain positive relationships across the organisation and an in-depth understanding of the charity’s needs and priorities to ensure your fundraising activity contributes positively 
• Monitor, record and evaluate event performance, ensuring targets are met and providing reports as required 
• Spotting fundraising and communication opportunities and raising awareness of CHNs work 

General 

• Integrate with all members of the CHN team to learn the business and gain a full understanding of the charities work in order to communicate this to a wider external audience 
• Work with the MARCOMMS team to create social media posts when necessary 
• Design posters, tickets and flyers on CANVA or a similar design tool for events 
• Help with the community engagement strategy and annual plan to maintain and further raise the profile of the charity while protecting brand by acting as the ‘brand guardian’ 
• Ensure that all activity is compliant with policies and procedures 
• Actively keep current with trends in fundraising 

Person Specification 

• You will be highly organised, used to working in a fast-paced and autonomous environment and need to be able to plan ahead. 
• You will be proactive, flexible, creative, resilient and able to plan ahead.
• Flexibility is key as this role will require evening and weekend work, time will be given in lieu for hours worked in this situation 
• Computer literate as there will be database and design tools such as Canva to use 
• A team player as you will work with the Fundraising Manager and Communications Manager. Prioritisation is second nature.
• You will be confident using social media, and objective and flexible in the way you use the tools and platforms available. 
• Experience using CRMs is desirable but not essential. 
• This role can be physical – the successful candidate will be involved in setting up and closing of events which may entail some heavy moving and carrying.

The Development Manager (Individual Giving) will manage the strategic development of Individual Giving, identifying opportunities to drive growth in this area. The Development Manager (Trust and Foundations) will manage the strategic development of Trusts and Foundations fundraising, identifying opportunities to drive growth in this area. The post-holder will oversee income generation from grant-making organisations and ensure timely reporting to funders.

• Drive growth of Trusts and Foundations income especially at the five- and six-figure level, with a particular view to supporting unrestricted income and major projects in the organisation’s pipeline.
