Cranstoun are proud to work with the West Midlands Police Crime and Commissioner to deliver the Cranstoun Arrest Referral Service within the custody suites of West Midlands Police, and West Midlands Courts, offering drug and alcohol using offenders the opportunity to break the cycle of substance related crime.

You will work between police custody and criminal courts. You will assess, advise and refer offenders, providing them with the opportunity to access treatment to address their substance use. Working with courts, you will promote the use of Community Sentence Treatment Requirements (Drug Rehabilitations Requirements and Alcohol Treatment Requirements) amongst all court professionals and the judiciary, contributing to Pre-Sentence Reports and advocate for our service users.

You will be responsible for delivering all elements of substance use work, including assertive engagement, harm reduction support (including naloxone provision), as well as other associated duties. You need to have an understanding of the issues faced by people who use drugs and alcohol, and who commit crime, and be dedicated to delivering a service that supports these individuals to make positive changes to their behaviour, health and well-being.

All roles within this service are subject to enhanced DBS checks and West Midlands Police vetting.

About the Role

Snow Camp is a ground-breaking national youth charity, and we are looking to recruit a fantastic new North West Wellbeing Manager and Programme Support to join our North West team on a 4 day a week contract (30 hrs).

Our accredited programmes are unique and attractive to young people, taking them from beginner to qualified snowsports instructors in just one year with volunteering and apprenticeship progression routes available at the end. Alongside learning to ski or snowboard, young people also have access to wellbeing support with the emphasis on improving young people’s mental health and wellbeing.

You will report to the North West Programme Manager & Head of Snowsports and will be responsible for the delivery of our wellbeing workshops and providing 1to1 wellbeing support sessions to young people. You will also work as part of the North West team to assist with the planning and delivery of snowsports and life-skills focused youth activities run by the Programme Manager and assist with the apprenticeship programme throughout each year.

Experience of working successfully with under-served young people in a range of settings, with a focus on supporting young people’s wellbeing will be essential to the post. Passion for snowsports and supporting young people generally will be a huge advantage!

Youth work, wellbeing support experience, project management, logistical skills, managing relationships, communication and presentation skills will make up the role. Along with experience of delivering group workshops to help young people work towards meaningful goals to improve their emotional wellbeing.

Job Description

• You will spend roughly 2.5 days will be in the Wellbeing Manager role and 1.5 days will be in the Programme Support role each week.
• In consultation with the Programme Manager, to manage the delivery of the Wellbeing Workshops and 1to1 mentoring support needed for young people and apprentices.
• Work with the programme manager to gain the young people’s trust and confidence.
• To assist with delivery and development of The North West’s full snowsports focused journey of youth programmes which take place at Chill Factore.
• Build a good relationship with the North West Programme Manager to help provide support and guidance to young people.
• Support with the management of (currently) 3 x North West apprentices on their 1-year Snow Camp Apprenticeship programme. particularly helping to manage their wellbeing and signpost to other services where needed.
• Ensuring the apprentices have clear personal development plans and objectives.

• Providing weekly 1to1 support sessions for each apprentice.
• Having an understanding and an involvement in the development of their weekly working rotas.

• Ensuring apprentices are involved and supported working on all Snow Camp programmes as the North West staff team.
• Complete Personal Development Plans and Wellbeing Assessments as required with apprentices.
• Attend regular meetings with the other regional Wellbeing Managers to provide a consistent approach and building resources focused on improving young people’s wellbeing.
• Outside of programme days, provide one-to-one mentoring sessions to young people, in-person or remotely, focusing on their well-being and offering support so they can cope with the Snow Camp programme and improve their general wellbeing.
• Be a key team member on the overseas residential for the Excel programme during the Easter holidays. *Valid passport for travel in Europe & Andorra required.
• Use our UPSHOT online database system to keep records and ensure all monitoring and evaluation is carried out.
• Attend external training as required (e.g. Safeguarding and Mental Health Awareness tutor training courses).
• Ensure that all activities and provision you deliver is done safely and in line with organisational policies.
• Support the Programme Manager to ensure all programmes run smoothly and effectively by supporting the delivery of each programme – managing venue instructors, guest speakers, apprentices, youth staff, sessional staff and volunteers as required.
• Support the Programme Manager with recruiting young people for each programme through visits to youth projects, promotion through email to all relevant youth programmes and services and presenting at key stakeholder meetings on youth service provision. Finding new young people in the North West area to support by Snow-Camp will be key.
• Support the Programme Manager with programme administration including finances, SLAs, attendance records, risk assessments, bookings and young people’s records on Upshot.
• Support with management and delivery of trips and overseas residential’s (Snow-Camp Excel, Apprenticeship & Youth Forum Residential’s) as part of Snow-Camp programmes. Including support with all the necessary risk assessments.
• Additional tasks may vary depending on different opportunities throughout the year.

Management and support

The North West Wellbeing Manager & Programme Support will report to the North West Programme Manager & Head of Snowsports Morv Bett who will provide support and guidance.

The Trustee board will determine the overall direction of Snow Camp and will set the overall priorities in consultation with the Director and Senior Team.

The Merton Social Prescribing service is one of the most established and mature services in the UK and is celebrating its 7th anniversary this year. We are seeking an individual to join our successful service in Southwest London. The successful candidate will be experienced in developing and delivering creative Gender Based Violence (GBV) prevention programs and confident to successfully engage young women in a wide range of settings including schools, colleges, youth programs & pupil referral units to raise awareness, challenge and positively influence the attitudes and behaviours that normalise GBV in this peer group. You will receive training on delivering GBV Resilience Programs that build psychological and emotional resilience in young people (YP) to strengthen protective factors to promote positive mental and emotional well-being in YP. You will co-produce and deliver training and awareness raising work for professionals, including first responders and managers in GBV related services / mental health provisions, educational centres and non-abusing family members and carers to facilitate appropriate response towards YP at risk.

You will therefore be skilled in nurturing and developing YP voices and active engagement within such forums. You will be skilled at working alongside young women with an acute awareness of how to successfully co-create and co-deliver training packages to professionals and the wider community, thus centralising YP as the leaders and change agents in the project.

The Youth Participation Worker will facilitate and develop a Youth steering group, support aftercare for young people leaving treatment, coordinate and facilitate diversionary activities to support young people and their families.

Role purpose

We are looking for maternity cover for a full-time counsellor role on our Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT) counselling service, Mind My Home. The service offers SFBT to adults (18+) with low to moderate mental health needs.

We are looking for experienced candidates with post graduate qualification in CBT, Counselling or Psychotherapy and accreditation from a relevant professional body e.g. BACP (Registered member MBACP).

Due to the nature of the work, if successful, you will need to have an up-to-date DBS check completed prior to undertaking unsupervised client work.  

Place of work

Counselling sessions will take place face-to-face, virtually, and via telephone, so you will need to travel across Spelthorne and the tri-borough of Hammersmith & Fulham, Ealing, and Hounslow, and have the option to work remotely.

• Facilitating the 8 sessions (7+1 assessment) of SFBT for new referrals.
• Assisting in the triage and booking of SFBT appointments.

• Raise awareness of this agenda to a wider network.

The service will support victims of Domestic Abuse, Sexual Violence and Stalking aged 15 and above, alongside perpetrators of Domestic Abuse – empowering victims and reducing the risk of recidivism for perpetrators.

The Junction is an out of hours “calming café” service which is open 365 days of the year to support people experiencing pre and/or mental health crisis. The aim of the project is to alleviate the need for people within the Swindon locality to access A&E and/or acute mental health services.

As a Wellbeing Practitioner, you will be providing a preventative, person centred approach to people accessing the service who may be experiencing a mental health crisis.

The service is open from 4PM-11PM and there are positions available for part time hours and full time hours and  working patterns will include some weekends.

NHS England have awarded funding for NHS, Local Authorities, and the voluntary sector to increase their capacity for joint working to meet multiple needs of communities.

Working in partnership across Berkshire Healthcare Foundation Trust, you will support the testing of new and integrated models of primary and community mental health care.

Community Connectors will support patients to access a wide range of community services and resources including social care, housing, family, debt and employment counselling that support maintaining good health and wellbeing.

Key Responsibilities:

• Work jointly with the Mental Health Practitioner in conducting assessments, including risk assessment
• Work with patients to support them in identifying their socially determined needs and goals, provide self- management tools and facilitate the development of personal support plans
• Provide a range of motivational and structured psycho-social interventions
• Promote independence through an enabling asset-based approach that draws on individuals’ strengths, preferences and ‘natural’ support networks
• Assist with community resource mapping exercises and maintain a database of community resources; map where there are gaps in provision across the PCN and wider geography and work with other VCS organisations to develop resources where most needed
• Promote and support (where necessary) advised follow up actions from physical health checks for people with SMI
• Work with the service to identify opportunities to expand provision particularly in local communities where there is a lack of service provision identified
• Broker and establish new partnerships between public and voluntary sector agencies to enhance service delivery and access to services
• Develop and sustain professional relationships with service users, partner agencies and appropriate external agencies

• An understanding of good practice in safeguarding Adults
• Experience of working within mental health, wellbeing or similar environments
• Experience of working in a demanding environment
• Ability to work as part of a team and communicate effectively
• Experience of working with individuals, enabling them to identify their own goals to support personal wellbeing and recovery, and helping them to pursue these
• Ability to work both collaboratively and independently
• Excellent listening and interpersonal skills
• Ability to confidently use IT systems and software at a basic level
• Ability to travel to different sites daily to deliver face-to-face sessions across the Berkshire region.
• Good planning and organisational skills

The role

You will:

• Provide expert support, guidance, and information on cerebral palsy particularly within the context of Scope’s Strategy, to disabled people, families, professionals, Scope colleagues and members of the public.

• Be Scope’s representative within the region on cerebral palsy, joining existing CP forums and groups, helping the CP community to come together, and sharing Scope’s work within communities.

About you

You will:

• Have an in-depth knowledge of cerebral palsy, its causes, health implications, therapies, and available support due to a personal lived experience.
• Have experience and up to date knowledge of current issues that affect disabled people and those around them, specifically people with cerebral palsy.
• Have at least two years’ experience working in a customer focused environment.
• Have excellent communication skills with an understanding of different needs and being able to respond to these accordingly.
• Have a strong ability to convey complex information in an accessible way and engage diverse audiences.
• Be an excellent communicator who demonstrates effective person-centred listening, empathy, and probing skills to respond to underlying issues and assist customers to make informed choices.
• Be highly organised with the capacity to prioritise workloads effectively by using your own initiative. Ability to engage groups of people and individuals on the subject of cerebral palsy and disability.
• Have direct experience of the barriers that society creates for disabled people. Bringing drive and enthusiasm to the role, demonstrating that you care passionately about improving the lives of disabled people.

Cranstoun is an independent charity and leading provider of specialist treatment, harm reduction and recovery services to those affected by drug and alcohol use. This is an exciting opportunity to become a part of our high performing psychosocial drug and alcohol service in HMP Birmingham.

We provide a range of services for those affected by drugs and alcohol. Our skilled and compassionate people work closely with services users to change and save lives. We combine proven expertise in treatment and recovery with innovative approaches and actively involve those we help in improving the design of the services we provide.

You will be based in our psychosocial team working with adult males (over 18 years old). You will be responsible for delivering a range of elements of our substance misuse work including case management, assessments, care planning, the delivery of one-to-one interventions to include harm reduction and motivational work, group work, and engagement support as well as other associated duties. You need to be committed supporting clients to make positive changes in order to prepare them for release into the community, and you will arrange continuity of care. You will work in collaboration with the clinical team and integrated working is a key element of this role. You will work within the prison setting and contribute towards the wider drug strategy.

Having experience of supporting people with complex health needs including substance misuse, you will bring knowledge and commitment to deliver drug and alcohol treatment. You will have a non-judgemental attitude and a desire to support the lives of our service users to be healthier and safer by delivering a high-quality service.

Experience of working with drug and alcohol misuse and individuals is essential. You will be a competent communicator, with the ability to work independently and be comfortable and enthusiastic, both with the highlighted client group and working in partnership with other service providers. Previous experience or knowledge of working with clients on opiate replacement treatment, and/or involved in the criminal justice system will be advantageous.
