This is a key leadership role in this vibrant, user-led charity based in Richmond and Wandsworth. You will be providing leadership and direction to five Team Leads/Managers, as well as leading and directing development to increase the scope and depth of the services we offer. We are looking for innovation as well as sound leadership skills, and professional knowledge of employment law is a given. This part-time (21 hours per week) role is to cover the maternity leave of the current Manager and will be up to 12 months.
Ruils is a charity that supports disabled children and adults to live independently, be part of their community and live life to the full. We provide information, advice, practical support, befriending and accessible activities to our clients and families. We enable individuals to have choice and control over the way in which they get their support.
The Adult Services Team Manager is one of three Team Managers reporting to our Chief Executive Officer. The services managed include Direct Payment support across Richmond and Wandsworth, Befriending and Community Activities, our Benefits and Housing Advice and Information service and our Counselling service.
We constantly research and develop services to meet the identified needs of the community, and this role would suit someone who wants a good level of autonomy to develop new ideas.
The Adult Services Manager works alongside our Children’s Team Manager and our Social Prescribing and Community Development Manager, supported by Finance, Fundraising and Campaigns and Communications Managers.
Purpose of the post
- To be responsible for the management of the Support Services to Direct Payment clients in Richmond and Wandsworth.
- To be responsible for the research and development of adult services in Richmond and Wandsworth.
- To oversee the promotion, monitoring and delivery of the CILS, Pathways and Counselling services.
- To provide leadership and supervision, performance evaluation and general support for all of the Adult Services Team Managers and Leads.
- To be responsible for adult safeguarding and health and safety across the organisation.

Main duties include:
Management of the Direct Payment Support Service
- Leading and managing the Direct Payment Support Service across Richmond and Wandsworth Boroughs through the Direct Payment Leads.
- Providing support to the DP Team Leads to resolve complex DP HR management issues around the area of employment law.
- Supporting the Team Leads in their work with the local authority to set targets for the project, monitoring performance against these targets and identifying and resolving any issues that arise.
- Providing performance data to finance for invoicing purposes.
- Reporting quarterly to the commissioners and the Ruils Board of Trustees.
- Working with the DP Team Leads and the CEO on new DP projects and funding applications as required.
CILS, Pathways and Counselling Teams
- Leading and managing the delivery of the Community Activity, Befriending, Pathways and Counselling services.
- Working with the CILS partners to ensure that the service is meeting local authority targets.
- Reporting as required to the commissioners and the Ruils Board of Trustees.
- Ensuring the active promotion of the services to potential and existing clients and stakeholders and ensuring representation of Ruils at networking events.
- Working with the CEO and Fundraising Manager to ensure projects are fully funded and demand is well managed.

About Black Thrive
Black Thrive Global (BTG) evolved from the work of the Black Thrive Lambeth Partnership, which was established in 2016. We exist to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and wellbeing of Black people so that the thriving of Black communities is the norm.
Our guiding principle is that Black communities should be at the forefront of reimagining, redefining and co-creating a society where systemic racism and other oppressive systems have been dismantled so that they have fulfilling lives. We have two priorities – building a Black Thrive Research Institute and embedding race equity in systems change.

Purpose of the role
As the Programme and Partnerships Manager = Thriving Futures, you will play a crucial role in overseeing the implementation of the Thriving Futures programme, ensuring effective collaboration with partner organisations to advance Black Thrive’s mission. Relationship building with the localities teams is an important element of the role.
The Thriving Futures workstream is undergoing a strategic shift, focusing on key areas identified during its three years of operation. This includes intentional co-learning, community feedback through Black Thrive Community Assemblies, development of community metrics, and refining our role and offerings as a backbone organisation.
The role entails managing the programme’s day to day activities, ensuring alignment with the programme's objectives and goals, procuring additional funding resources and managing a Project Officer. You can anticipate working with different combinations of Black Thrive locality workstreams. Your responsibilities will vary, encompassing project management, financial oversight, strategic development, communications activities, as well as engaging in learning, reflection activities and research.
The role also has responsibility for assisting in writing and delivering grant applications and bids to major funders to secure funding to support the work of the programme.
Duties and responsibilities
- Lead on the planning, execution and monitoring for delivering the Black Thrive Global Thriving Futures programme and other activities related to the achievement of the programme objectives and milestones.

Engage with and provide support to the Thriving Futures Collective partners (Lambeth, Haringey and Birmingham), staying informed about their activities and aligning initiatives with project requirements.

The Role

Head of Programmes role
The Head of Programmes will oversee all elements of programme design, development and delivery at First Give. They will lead the Programmes Team, including line management of two Programme Managers, ensuring high quality delivery of all First Give programmes

The Director of National Programme has overall responsibility for PSTT’s UK-wide programme of support for primary science teachers. The Director leads on PSTT’s national thematic activities and our offer for trainee and early career teachers, and commissions new projects and resources as required. They are also responsible for managing our team of Area Mentors and other National Programme staff.

Location: Hybrid (3 days in High Wycombe office)

Full-time Salary: £40-45k (depending on experience)

About the Role: The Head of PMO will be responsible for leading and managing the Project Management Office (PMO) within the organisation. This role is crucial in ensuring that the organisation’s projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget, whilst also aligning with the strategic goals. The Head of PMO will review, develop and audit our project management methodologies, implement best practices, and ensure consistent delivery of projects across the organisation.
You will line manage three project managers, overseeing their deployment to manage and support our operational plan projects. You will be responsible for resource planning and providing ongoing support and escalation for the project managers, as well as maintaining oversight of live projects and reporting on performance to senior stakeholders.
Responsibilities:
PMO Leadership:

Establish and lead the Project Management Office, ensuring it provides value to the organisation.

Continually review and develop PMO strategies, standards, and methodologies to improve project delivery.

Ensure alignment of projects with the organisation’s strategic and Operational Plan objectives.
Team Leadership and Development:

Lead, mentor, and develop the project management team (x 3 Project Managers).

Provide training and development opportunities for project managers.
-
Foster a culture of excellence, collaboration, and continuous improvement within the PMO.
Programme and Project Governance:

Chair Programme Boards to track progress against plan, escalate any risks and/or issues to senior stakeholders.

Review and continually improve the project management governance, including frameworks, processes, and tools.

Ensure that all projects follow standardised methodologies.

Oversee the portfolio of projects, ensuring that resources are allocated appropriately, and that risks and issues are managed effectively.
Stakeholder Management:

Act as the primary point of contact for project-related communication with senior management and stakeholders.

Facilitate communication and collaboration among project teams and stakeholders.

Manage stakeholder expectations and ensure that their requirements are adequately addressed in project plans.
Project Delivery:

Ensure that all projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.

Oversee the development, management, and tracking of the projects budget.

Monitor project performance and report (via our Dashboard reporting) on progress to senior management.

Implement corrective actions when necessary to ensure project success.
Continuous Improvement:

Drive continuous improvement in project management practices across the organisation.

Lead post-project reviews to capture lessons learned and improve future project delivery.

Stay up to date with industry trends and best practices in project management.
About You:
Education:
-
Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent is highly desirable.
-
Membership to APM (Association of Project Management) is desirable.
Experience:
-
Minimum of 5 years of experience in project management, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.

Proven experience in leading a PMO in a small-medium organisation.

Excellent project management skills with significant experience of leading and project managing large complex projects and/or programmes.

Project Management expertise with a proven ability to apply a range of project management methodologies such as agile project management and scrum approaches.
