Role Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic Chief Technology Officer (CTO) to lead Learning on Screen’s digital development team. The CTO will drive technological innovation and execute a comprehensive product and technology roadmap, ensuring our digital products and services align with our strategic goals. Reporting directly to the CEO, the CTO will collaborate with key executives to advance our mission in post 16 educational media innovation. Role Summary

In 2020/21, the Careers & Enterprise Company appointed its first ever Youth Board Member to the strategic board of directors, to give young people a decision-making voice. The CEC subsequently established a national Youth Advisory Group, to establish and embed an organisation wide approach to capturing Youth Voice, both for the purpose of driving impact and measuring the value of our work. This work has already had a huge impact on the company, and we are looking to embed Youth Voice still further into our work at a more strategic level.

The Youth Advisory Group has three primary functions across The Careers & Enterprise Company, to:

• Govern: challenge CEC’s work to consider youth voice
• Enrich: focus on the future of CEC's strategic direction
• Advise: mobilising their voice in key projects and priorities

The Careers & Enterprise Company is seeking to recruit an 18-month fixed term Youth Engagement Officer to support the administration, facilitation and delivery of youth engagement and participation across our organisation. The role will sit within the Education Development Team and work closely with our Youth Advisory Group and Youth Board members. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation to champion youth voice and deliver high quality youth participation activities.

This new role has an exciting remit to develop practice, to innovate in youth voice practice, to lead on the operational delivery of the Youth Advisory Group and support with the strategic direction of this work. Reporting directly to the Education Manager responsible for youth voice, but also working effectively across the directorate and across the company, you will manage the delivery of various aspects of our operations including, but not limited to:

1. Effective project management – to ensure that CEC’s YAG has the greatest impact possible, you will work with colleagues from across the business, including at times the Careers Hub Network and put in place the right tools and processes for effective delivery of all elements of the youth voice. This may include establishing and managing relationships across teams, efficient reporting procedures and may extend to other areas of CEC’s ever evolving programme of work.
2. Innovate and design – CEC’s work, and the careers education landscape, is continually evolving. Responding to changing needs of the company, skills of the YAG members and proactively planning for project pivots, will be essential to success in this role. You will look for creative ways to strengthen youth voice across the company.

Specific responsibilities

An applicant appointed to the role will be expected to:

• Work effectively with others to develop funding proposals for CSE projects.

• Providing follow-up to any initiative which members of the SLT thinks must be tracked but which does not fall within the remit of any of the Development and Alumni Engagement teams, prompting members of the team about action as needed.

• Experience of providing a high level of project support in a fast-paced, complex organisation, ideally in a higher education or development environment

About the Role

Reporting to the Senior Communications & Engagement Manager as part of a highly functioning and creative team, this vital role will work across all media and channels to raise the profile of USPG and its partners and their work:

• Oversee the day-to-day running of our website and social media channels.

• Liaise with colleagues and partners to gather information and use it to create engaging collateral which informs, inspires, and sometimes challenges.

About You

You are an organised and digitally aware communications professional. You can take complex subjects and communicate about them in simple and effective ways that speak to specific audiences. You understand the importance of reporting on website and social media performance to understand USPG’s audience and to adjust and improve. You are comfortable working in a small and creative team and are confident speaking to the wider organisation. You can juggle numerous projects and deadlines at one time.

You will demonstrate considerable cross-cultural awareness and an ability to communicate in a way that is sensitive and appropriate. You demonstrate an aptitude for collaborative teamwork and the ability to work independently on your initiative. It is expected that the postholder will be inspired by the work of USPG and in agreement with its Christian ethos and that they will be comfortable writing in a way which reflects this.

This is an ideal opportunity for someone looking for a second role within charity communications or a communications/marketing professional who wants to move into the charity sector. Our team in Zambia are looking for a Programme Officer to join their WASH NTD project. The WASH NTD Programme Officer will be responsible for all programme implementation, monitoring and evaluation related to SAFE aspects especially WASH and behaviour change interventions.

Accountabilities:

• Support the organisation of the SAFE and WASH NTD Data Tool Development and Targeted Design Assessment for WASH activities relating to the programme and broader NTD work.
• Work closely with the Technical Hub WASH Team, supporting the design and delivery of specific Behavioural Change and Communication activities in targeted districts, and national level where appropriate.
• Collaborate with appropriate Ministries and WASH sector partners to implement and monitor appropriate actions to improve efficiency and quality of project implementation in WASH.
• Promote the adaption and adoption of preferred practices on BCC and assess their application across the programme.
• Ensure timely reporting on all WASH NTD activities in the Accelerate programme.

• Support the Ministry of Health and partners interpret and use data/findings to guide decision-making

Knowledge, skills, experience

• A qualification/tertiary degree in public health or other relevant field
• Technical knowledge in WASH and BCC and/or one or more of the five leading PCT NTDs.
• Proven experience working with budgets and financial provisions.
• Proven experience with participatory methods and partnerships.
• Previous experience in monitoring and evaluation of projects/programmes
• Excellent communication skills and advocacy
• Strong reporting skills
• Strong IT
• Fluency in written and spoken English
• Availability to travel to relevant health regions for the duration of the tenure
• An understanding of and commitment to equality of opportunity for disabled people
• Current and ongoing right to work in Zambia.

We are looking to develop our services in Northern Ireland to be able to offer services to people living with arthritis and chronic pain.

About the role

You will co-ordinate all aspects of the ‘Together Versus Arthritis’ project within the area, which involves recruiting volunteers, service promotion and building relationships in the community. You will be responsible for supporting volunteers to deliver services, as well as monitoring and evaluation, so that we can effectively demonstrate the impact the service is making.

The service offers peer-led self-management and physical activity courses both within communities and online. Courses are designed to support people to develop the confidence, knowledge, and skills to live well with their condition.

You will help us to develop and pilot services for young people transitioning from our Young People and families service to adult services.

You will help us to ensure our services reach diverse communities in the Northwest, by co-producing resources, building partnerships and testing ways of working.

About you

If your knowledge, skills and experience include the following then we’d love to hear from you:

• Experience of delivering services within the voluntary sector.

• Experience of recruiting and supporting volunteers.

• Experience of building and maintaining relationships with local organisations and stakeholders, to develop effective partnerships.

• Experience of service monitoring, evaluation and delivering reports to meet targets.

• Strong communication skills – both written and verbal, and experience of presenting in front of groups of people.

• Strong administrative and IT skills – including MS Excel and Outlook.

• Strong organisational skills and the ability to prioritise work effectively.
