This role joins our Fundraising Team to inspire members and donors to support Surfers Against Sewage and protect the ocean.

Leading our membership, donor development, and legacy programmes, you’ll help raise +£3mil in total each year as a team, to fund our ocean-saving campaigns. You’ll develop and deliver the membership programme, ensuring members feel valued as an integral part of the SAS community, and communicate the impact of their support.

Taking an insight-led approach, and working closely with our Senior IG & Supporter Engagement Officer (Acquisition), you’ll ensure new members and donors have an exceptional onboarding journey, as well as ongoing stewardship. You’ll also work together to plan and deliver annual appeals, collaborating and coordinating with teams across the charity to raise significant unrestricted income.

You’ll nurture relationships with our legacy pledgers, in-memory and mid-value donors, both reactively and at key moments throughout the year. And in the longer term, you’ll continue developing and marketing our legacy offering.

About the role

You’ll be working on direct marketing campaigns and leading a strategic area of fundraising, to engage and inspire people to donate. What you’ll do

• Support the Individual Giving Manager to help set strategic objectives, monitor income and expenditure and use database analysis to inform the individual giving programme.
• Plan, create and manage direct marketing campaigns, both online and offline, and lead a strategic area of fundraising to secure donations
• Work with the Individual Giving Officers, delegating work and championing their development. There may also be an opportunity to line manage an Individual Giving Officer.
• Monitor income and expenditure budgets and use database analysis to inform and improve the direct marketing programme.

What you’ll bring

• Strong experience of managing Individual Giving or direct marketing activity with substantial income and expenditure budgets.
• Proven success in donor or customer acquisition and retention through direct marketing.

Programme Delivery Officer role

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic candidate to join our Programmes Team as a Programme Delivery Officer. PDOs will be responsible for supporting and coordinating the delivery of the First Give programme in up 50 schools, ensuring smooth running of the programme, plus providing guidance and troubleshooting for the lead teachers at First Give partner schools.

The role will be hybrid, with 3 days a week in our main offices in West Hampstead, London. Regular travel to schools across London and the South East will be required.

Key responsibilities

• Provide logistic and programme support to teachers delivering the First Give programme at their school, including but not limited to:
  • an introductory Programme Call with the Lead teacher;

  • troubleshooting via phone and email;
  • booking in First Give facilitated sessions
• Ensure all programmes are delivering all core elements of the First Give programme

About the role

You will be responsible for planning and organising a calendar of events for our team to attend, from shopping centres to country shows, high streets to our reserves, and everything in between, so that they can inspire members of the public to become members of the RSPB.

You will be part of a successful and energetic team covering the whole UK. You will work collaboratively with colleagues across the country. This position can be conducted from home, however, occasional travel, including to a local office, reserve or elsewhere in the United Kingdom, will be required.

About the Role

You will lead on data analysis and reporting on the data held in Salesforce CRM, improving both the quality and quantity of monitoring and evaluation processes, driving improvements in data capture through training and upskilling the Youth Work team, strengthening the ability of both youth zones to demonstrate the measurable impact of youth work delivered. 

You will also be responsible for measuring and demonstrating both charities’ impact to stakeholders; authoring and providing the necessary data to the leadership and fundraising teams and Board (as required), annual publications such as Trustees Reports and annual Impact Reports. Innovation is a key aspect of this role, involving the introduction and embedding of new methodologies to enhance the qualitative data capture process.

You will collaborate closely with a cross section of teams within the youth zones, working with the Youth Work delivery teams to feed data into decision making, and with the Communications and Fundraising teams to provide impact measurement and analysis content for use with stakeholders and in donor reporting. Furthermore, it will align impact and data work with national and local policy, and use national census, health, police and other statistical data to position both youth zones for new income generation opportunities.

About You

This role is ideal for someone who has the ability to bring technical analysis to life in a youth work setting and can communicate insights in an accessible style to different audiences. The Impact and Insights Officer should be passionate about embracing the power of youth work and be keen to support youth zones in evidencing the impact created with young people. It will require someone who can bring impact expertise and creativity to create buy-in and drive improvements in data capture; and someone who is keen to work flexibly and closely with teams of passionate youth workers and who is unafraid of the challenge presented by Youth Zones in two very different geographic locations.

1. Background and Purpose

The Deputy Director works in close partnership with the Executive Director (ED) to enhance the work of the small, dynamic secretariat team to create more momentum across its network. This new role will be instrumental in delivering on the strategic objectives and securing sustainable funding through its continued evolution. The person will be responsible for connecting the various programmatic areas of work quality assurance and impact, capacity support and its new country level work. They will guide planning processes to be able to track and analyse our impact. They will leverage the knowledge of the team to seek new opportunities for ensuring the Alliance delivers on its mission. They will be instrumental in developing and implementing long-term plans and processes that can bring new levels of success for the organisation.

2. Main Duties and Responsibilities

Guide and facilitate the team’s delivery of the CHS Alliance strategy:

· Work with the ED on delivering the strategy to position CHS Alliance as a network driving system change for greater accountability to people in crisis, creating relationships within teams and externally to influence change across the global humanitarian sector.

· Develop processes to support the team track progress on how we are meeting our objectives so they can be clearly communicated and analysed to continue to deliver on the ambitions of the Alliance’s strategy.

· Stay abreast of emerging trends in the volatile context of humanitarian action and provide strategic thought leadership on the dynamic and shifting priorities and what it means for the Alliance network.

· Work closely with the ED to create a strong donor advocacy and engagement plan that goes beyond fundraising to work with donors as drivers of accountability.

· In coordination with the rest of the Alliance team, engage with external stakeholders to build and maintain relationships contributing to the CHS Alliance strategic objectives.

· Work closely across the teams to keep abreast of the Alliance members’ needs to meet the CHS commitments.

• Demonstrated organisational development experience, supporting a team and supporting others

Executive Director

We have an exciting opportunity for an Executive Director to lead a small charity who work within the Jewish community to make it more inclusive of LGBT+ people through education, consultancy and training.

Position: Executive Director

Location: London (King Cross) / Hybrid (minimum one day a week in the office)

Salary: FTE £47,000 to £53,000 per annum depending on experience

Hours: 40 hours flexitime, including a paid hour for lunch each working day. Core hours are 10am-4pm. Will seriously consider applicants requesting 4 days per week or a job-share

About the role:

As Executive Director you will lead a small team – Head of Education (full time), Head of Community Life (full time) and Programme and Volunteer Officer (full time), working with a charity that has a vision of a world where no one is forced to choose between their LGBT+ and Jewish identity.

As the only charity doing this in the UK, the charity works in partnership with communities to identify their goals, then tailor  support so they can achieve them.

Key responsibilities of the Executive Director:

• Delivering the organisation’s priorities as laid out in the 2022-2027 strategy
• Ensuring financial sustainability through devising and executing a fundraising strategy and carefully managing the organisational budget

• Sensitive, compassionate leadership and management of the professional team
• Working in close partnership with the Board of Trustees
• Effective accounting and governance
• Monitoring and managing risk via the risk register and seeking legal advice where necessary
• Managing key stakeholders both internal (e.g. volunteers) and external (e.g. communal partners, the wider LGBT+ sector)
• Being the primary spokesperson and ambassador for the charity

About you:

• The ability to speak and write confidently and authentically about LGBT+ issues
• Strategic leadership, planning and decision-making experience in a commercial, not-for-profit or public service setting
• Line management experience, including the ability to inspire and empower a staff team
• Understanding of the charity and voluntary sector, including the funding environment in which charities operate
• Highly effective relationship-builder across multiple arenas (internal stakeholders, external partners, funders etc)
• Knowledge and experience of strategic planning and business development, including operational planning and delivery management
• Knowledge and working experience of organisational finance and budget planning cycles
• Experience working with, and preferably in, the UK Jewish community
• Positive, problem-solving and solutions-oriented

Although not essential it would also be beneficial if you have some of the following skills / experience:

• Delivering training or education in a Jewish setting
• Experience in fundraising
• Understand and experience in print, social and broadcast media
• Experience working with the LGBT+ community
• Experience in using CRMs such as Salesforce

The Royal Hospital Chelsea is the home of the Chelsea Pensioners. It has a rich history and provides supported accommodation, residential and nursing care for some 300 retired soldiers. An exciting opportunity has arisen at the Royal Hospital Chelsea where we are seeking an exceptional individual to join the Chelsea Pensioners Veterans’ Outreach  (CPVO ) team in a new role as a Veterans’ Outreach Officer. 

 The CPVO programme is aimed at extending an offer to older service veterans, inviting them to engage with our In Pensioners and enjoy the sense of community and comradeship that is at the heart of the Chelsea Pensioner community. While most of our programme activity is centred on the Royal Hospital Chelsea estate in London, the programme seeks to expand in reach to other UK regions where there is a sizeable veteran population who might benefit from engagement with our team of Chelsea Pensioners, staff and volunteers. There are also plans to develop a digital offer.

 The Veterans’ Outreach Officer will support  the Head of Veterans’ Outreach in developing and managing the programme of activities encouraging engagement and social interaction between Chelsea Pensioners and other service veterans thereby helping to alleviate the social isolation and loneliness felt by many older veterans. Responsibilities will include promoting the programme within veterans' networks and finding innovative ways to connect with veterans; the management of themed events both at the Royal Hospital Chelsea and further afield as we seek to expand nationwide. The role also involves significant data collection and analysis to inform the strategy, evaluate delivery, and identify fundraising opportunities.
