Working Hours:  5 days a week, 9am-5pm (flexible)

Pension: School Food Matters matches pension contributions at 7% of pensionable earnings

Holiday: 31 days including bank holidays that fall on working days. Holidays must be taken during the school holidays

The role is mainly office-based with the option to work from home a couple of days per week. It also involves some travel to regions outside of London to assist with training and support for our regional teams.

Background to Nourish

Our Nourish programme supports schools to create a food environment that puts children and young people's nutrition first. The evidence-based, multi-component programme helps schools to develop action plans and policies to cover the food served across the whole school day. Nourish uses a collaborative whole school approach to food involving everyone across the school community to create lasting positive change.

Job purpose

· To assist the team with the scaling up of our Nourish programme

Key tasks include

· Recruit schools to take part in Nourish in the regions

· Provide admin support to the Scaling Manager with setting up e.g. sending out calendar invites, project paperwork, writing minutes

· Assist Scaling Manager with set up of training sessions – agendas, venues, and minutes

· Tailor project resources for different regions delivering Nourish where required

· Design and create project assets such as presentations

· Manage online training platform

· Monitor Regional Officers documentation and check it stays up to date

· Attend occasional project sessions to capture photos, videos and quotes

· Collect data and maintain accurate records relating to the project

· Keep Scaling Manager fully updated on progress

· Keep up to date with safeguarding requirements and reporting procedures

· Maintaining the ethos of the charity and positively promoting our work at all times

· You will also be expected to undertake any other tasks relevant to the affairs of SFM that may arise from time to time.  Therefore, being flexible and approaching the job with an open and positive mindset is essential.

This role is key to ensuring the smooth running of administrative and programme support across the department. In this role, you will provide general administrative support by handling enquiries, maintaining office files, preparing documents and materials, and coordinating schedules, meetings, and events. You will manage routine correspondence, mail distribution, and communicate professionally with internal and external stakeholders. Duties include organising meetings, taking minutes, maintaining databases and records, assisting with data entry and reports, and supporting projects and senior team members with ad-hoc tasks. You will provide friendly assistance to partners, stakeholders, service users, and staff, resolving minor issues when required. Additionally, you will contribute to communication activities, support the implementation of BVSC policies, promote services, keep up to date with relevant sector developments, maintain your own professional development, and undertake other administrative duties, including occasional evening or weekend work.

To succeed in this role, you will need excellent organisational skills and strong attention to detail, along with confident written and verbal communication abilities. You will be able to prioritise workloads, meet deadlines, and use your initiative to solve problems proactively. Strong IT skills, particularly with Microsoft Office applications, are essential, as is a friendly and professional manner when supporting partners, stakeholders, service users, and colleagues.

We’re looking for a passionate and strategic Head of Individual Giving and Legacies to lead one of the most impactful areas of our fundraising programme.

About the Service

Barnet Refuge Service provide emergency accommodation to women and children fleeing domestic abuse and sexual violence. Refuge Case Workers provide emotional and practical support this can include housing support, legal options, reporting to the police, help around child contact, benefits, financial advice and accessing therapeutic support services.

About the Role

You will provide advice and support to women who have experienced domestic abuse in a refuge setting working across two sites.  You will carry out risk and needs assessments, develop support plans and carry out key work with women survivors. You should have a minimum of two years’ experience of working with this or a similar client group. An in depth understanding of the needs of women and children from a diverse background is essential.

About You

The ideal candidate will have in-depth knowledge of domestic abuse and its impact on women and their children, as well as experience of providing emotional and practical support to victims of domestic and sexual violence.

You will have experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of the client group, and the ability to work with women to help them to understand their needs, risk assess, develop safety plan and support them in linking with other agencies.  

You will have a working knowledge of the available legal remedies, housing and welfare benefits, as well as experience of providing workshops.

In addition to case management you will be required to undertake housing management responsibilities including health and safety and maintenance of the refuges.  You will have excellent administrative and time management skills.

About the Role​​

Based in the UK, this role will play a central role in managing and supporting the recruitment and onboarding of multiple project delivery roles across various countries, while also offering HR support to an ambitious FCDO-funded global safeguarding programme. The postholder will oversee the full recruitment lifecycle for direct hires, from job posting and candidate screening to interview coordination and onboarding, while also supporting partner organisations by coordinating their HR processes with the programme central team.​

Main responsibilities​​

Recruitment Coordination & Delivery:

• Manage all direct recruitment using SDDirect's recruitment procedures and tools, coordinating the full recruitment lifecycle including job posting, screening, interview scheduling, reference checks, and onboarding administration.

• Act as the central communication point between internal teams and partners, ensuring timely flow of accurate information between hiring managers, partner HR, and recruitment leads.

• Maintain organised records in compliance with GDPR and internal protocols, ensuring all documentation and candidate tracking is up to date.​

Human Resources:

•Provide first-line HR advice to staff and managers, escalating complex issues to the central HR team.

•Provide support in troubleshooting issues related to Kimble usage and financial reporting, offering practical solutions and coordination with relevant teams.

Skills and Experience:

Who we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who is creative, proactive and motivated, with a talent for clear, compelling and engaging communication, and a genuine interest in mental health and social change. You’ll bring strong writing and digital skills, and an eye for engaging content that connects with different audiences.

You’ll have experience working in a communications or media role, ideally within a charity, public sector or values-driven organisation. You’ll be confident managing content across websites, social media and email marketing. An understanding of media relations and curiosity about how communications can support growth, influence and impact will also be valuable.

You’ll be comfortable juggling multiple priorities, collaborating with colleagues, and taking initiative in a fast-paced environment. Most importantly, you’ll share our commitment to improving the lives of people with mental health needs.

We are now looking for a Senior Advocacy Manager focused on women’s rights and  humanitarian response. This role sits in our Advocacy and Influencing department, where you will help shape how ActionAid UK engages with politicians, civil servants, networks, and other organisations, ensuring our positions are heard, understood and acted on.

Day to day, you will work collaboratively with teams across the organisation  to develop advocacy strategies that reflect the realities faced by women during crises. You will build constructive relationships with parliamentarians, civil servants, policy actors and partner organisations, representing ActionAid in meetings, sector networks and coalition spaces. You will help shape our policy messaging, brief senior colleagues for external engagements, monitor developments across UK politics and humanitarian policy, and ensure we are well-placed to respond to emerging opportunities or risks. You may occasionally act as a spokesperson, and will work closely with colleagues across media, digital and brand  to ensure our advocacy has impact. [JO3] 

We are looking for someone with strong experience in advocacy, public affairs, parliamentary or policy work, and a deep understanding of gender equality  in international development and/or humanitarian contexts. You will be confident building relationships at senior levels, able to translate complex policy issues into compelling and coherent narratives, and comfortable navigating political dynamics and making judgement calls. Proven political judgement and experience of lobbying government, Parliament, and other institutions is essential,  along with excellent writing/presentation skills.. 

Above all, you will share our feminist values and commitment to working in solidarity with women’s rights movements globally.

This role requires regular travel into central London for meetings, parliamentary engagement and external events. No international travel is expected.

Key Requirements:

• Understanding of the key issues in humanitarian response policy and advocacy
• Significant experience of working in advocacy, in parliament, or in Whitehall
• Experience of working in national coalitions & working in cross-organisational teams to deliver on projects/ strategies

We are looking to recruit 2 Family Services Outreach Practitioners to provide intensive support for families with children living in temporary accommodation (TA) in London, ensuring their stay in TA is as short, safe, and healthy as possible. These are new and exciting roles in our Family Services team that will build genuine, positive, and trusting relationships with families, through both 1-1 work with parents and whole-family activities that will build togetherness and resilience. You will also conduct in-depth assessments with families referred to the project, identifying areas where parents and children need support and then helping them to feel confident, settled, and supported in their local community – e.g., by researching local resources and amenities, accompanying families to activities, and supporting them to become more independent. Additionally, you will assist the Team Leader and Evaluation and Learning Manager with the project’s co-production work, including supporting the management of an advisory panel of parents with lived experience of homelessness who will be co-designing interventions.
