Our client is a charity that uses the power of theatre to create inspiring experiences and unlock possibilities for young people.  Too many young people and their families experience physical, emotional, social and financial barriers to experiencing theatre. The organisation is here to change that. The team will recruit their new Director of Development and Prospectus is leading the search.

The Director of Development is a senior-level appointment for our client to grow income and work with the CEO and Board to unlock new opportunities for the organisation. The Director of Development will predominantly be responsible for income generation, with the organisation raising c. £900k currently. The Director of Development will work with individuals, trusts and foundations, and other funding sources to inspire and craft compelling ways to support programmes that unlock creativity and possibility for young people. Reporting to the CEO, this role will act as a senior ambassador internally as well as externally, particularly around matters of finance, governance, as well as income generation. The new Director of Development will have the opportunity to write and implement a fundraising strategy of the three-year strategic plan too.

 

The Director of Development will have substantial fundraising experience across high-value revenue streams and will enjoy working in a small, passionate, and versatile team. You will have ideally gained this leadership experience in the arts, young people or mission-driven sectors, but the team are open on where the experienced has been gained. The Director will have experience leading and developing high-performing teams and will maintain excellent relationships with key funders, donors and sponsors, so experience across multiple types of revenue will be important.
