An exciting opportunity has arisen in East Sussex for a highly motivated and committed Family Worker to build on a well-established commissioned service.   

About the Role:  

Kinship is the leading kinship care charity in England and Wales. We work with all kinship carers – the grandparents, siblings, aunts, uncles, and family friends who are caring for children when their parents can’t.  

We’re seeking an experienced Family Worker who is passionate about supporting kinship carers to get the right support at the right time. We are looking for someone who has the interpersonal and partnership skills to perform their role sensitively and creatively while also meeting reporting and impact requirements. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with East Sussex County Council and will share their ambition to support families to keep their children safe through support, advice and guidance.

You’ll be delivering our Kinship Connected programme offering support to special guardians and other kinship carers, providing emotional and practical support to carers in their homes and in the community over a six-month intervention cycle. You’ll also connect them with other kinship carers through peer support groups, as well as supporting to unlock community assets.   

This is a role where you’ll need to have strong boundaries and personal resilience – which we’ll also support through development and reflective practice. 

Key responsibilities include:

• Practical and emotional support to kinship carers virtually or in-person in their home or community.
• Signposting or referring to relevant national and local services.
• Liaising with other professionals and organisations.
• Attending professional meetings when the carer needs extra support (e.g. CIN. CP, family group conference, school meetings).
• Making referrals to other Kinship services such as Advice, Someone Like Me, Peer-to-Peer.

SCHOOLS BASED ACROSS BURNLEY & SALFORD

We require a Social Worker to provide high quality social work in our schools across the Diocese of Salford according to each school’s formal agreement.

You will work directly with children and young people, their parents, carers and schools in order to further the child’s welfare and provide the interventions necessary to enable them to use their learning opportunities to the full. You must be able to provide a non-judgemental, caring and confidential environment throughout this work to ensure the issues are addressed in an appropriate manner for all those involved.

To apply you will have experience of working with children and families and experience of direct work with children which includes supporting school staff with safeguarding. You must have competent IT skills which includes providing regular reports to the individual schools and Caritas and feedback to school staff as required. About the Role

Assist in the day-to-day delivery of the service, managing a small service user caseload with the overall goal of supporting these women to sustain a (new) tenancy

Provide trauma-informed, solution-focused support to service users, tailored to individual needs and aspirations, with service users being able to choose as far as possible, what, how and when support is delivered

Advocate where appropriate on behalf of service users with external agencies regarding their welfare rights, Primary Health Care needs and other issues affecting their health and well being

Promote social inclusion, encourage independence and develop personal resilience of women with multiple needs affected by violence

About You

Some experience in providing emotional and/or practical support to women who have experienced VAWG, homelessness or multiple disadvantage

Knowledge of the particular needs of women from diverse communities and the barriers to accessing support faced by black and minoritized women

Experience of working in partnerships with other agencies e.g. signposting, making referrals, supporting with appointments

An understanding of the impact of trauma on women experiencing abuse

The Role

The Westminster Women’s Safe Space is a specialist gender and trauma informed Assessment Centre for women with complex needs who are at risk of, or have experienced domestic abuse, violence against women and girls (VAWG); and have multiple disadvantage. We have a great opportunity for people interested in working as part of an innovate women’s only service in an Assessment and Reconnection Worker role and becoming part of this exciting team achieving positive outcomes to support the women in their recovery and move on journey.

In this role you will: 

Deliver support to female clients with multiple support needs who have also experienced domestic violence and VAWG (Violence Against Women and Girls).

You will be carrying out comprehensive client assessments; providing clients with personalised case management support to help them be connected into specialist external services, turning assessments into a practical action plan which fully involves the client.

Working within a small staff team, you will work closely with the Case Coordinator to case work the clients, assessing new referrals, welcoming them into the service, and planning their moves on from the service to more appropriate accommodation.

You will work a rota that will involve some evening and weekend work. This role will pay unsocial hours.

About you 

You will have experience of working with vulnerable people and an understanding of the needs of homeless women.  Strong communication, influencing and reasoning skills are also key, as is a flair for solving problems. Other qualities include knowing how to network and build effective relationships with people at every level, and a keen interest to keep abreast of current DV and VAWG related issues, housing legislation, welfare benefit legislations and other matters relevant to successful support and move on of clients.

We travel to the heart of communities talking to over 60,000 people every year about cancer. Our nurses directly reach people most in need, helping people to take steps to reduce their risk of cancer through lifestyle changes and supporting them to maintain those changes lifelong. What will I be doing?

We're looking for a motivated Health Promotion Nurse to be part of our team in Scotland to work on our regular indoor Roadshows. In this influential role, you'll…

• Work as a core part of our cancer awareness team to engage people face-to-face, providing information on cancer prevention, screening and early detection

• Organise and deliver cancer awareness presentations and training to community groups and support other public health initiatives

• Manage team Twitter account - posting regular updates on the team's activity and growing the team's social media contacts as appropriate.

• Collect and input data to evaluate local engagement activities

• Get involved with other cancer awareness outreach activity in the local community

• Manage a team of Health Awareness Volunteers and support them to be involved with cancer awareness activity where appropriate.

What skills are you looking for?

• Registered Nurse - NMC registration is mandatory for this role and must be maintained at all times

• An interest in or experience of at least one of the following: health promotion, practice nursing, occupational health, health visiting, district/community nursing or other qualification/experience

• Excellent verbal communication skills with the ability to engage people in conversation and to use motivational interviewing techniques

• Proven experience in delivering public-facing work, and a good understanding of the challenges associated with engaging hard to reach groups and addressing health inequalities

• Ability to work flexibly and autonomously

• Understanding of the importance and need for adhering to data protection, quality assurance and other compliance policies at all times

• Excellent written, administration and organisation skills with the ability to keep accurate confidential records

• Willingness to be flexible in regards to working days and hours

• Excellent self-awareness and the ability to recognise development areas and to seek training and support as necessary.

Field Lane is a charity providing care and support for a diverse range of service users, including adults with learning disabilities, vulnerable families – many of who are homeless – and people in need of additional support to stay in their own home or with their families.

We are seeking a skilled HR Manager to oversee human resources functions across Field Lane. We are looking for someone with thorough understanding of HR Policy and Procedures and relevant regulation in health and social care. As the HR Manager you will consistently deliver a pro-active and professional HR service to the business through developing effective partnerships with project leads & Senior Management.

Responsibilities: 

Recruitment & Selection 
 
The role of HR Manager will review all recruitment processes and practices to ensure all vacancies are filled in the most cost efficient way and within the shortest time possible. The HR function will be responsible for identifying effective and appropriate recruitment methods for all vacancies. 
 
Employee Relations 
 

• Taking a lead whilst advising and supporting managers on all Employee Relations issues, including performance management; sickness & absence; disciplinary & grievance procedures. 
   

• Ensuring the grievance and disciplinary procedures are adhered to by all staff and to empower the Operations Team to undertake investigations & hearings.  
   

• Experience of reviewing current practices and where needed looking at standardized practices.   
   

• Reviewing and updating the equality and diversity strategy, making recommendations on best practice and legislation. 
   

• To monitor staff turnover and ensuring that exit interviews are carried out, analysing and reporting on findings. 
   

Management Responsibility 
 
As the HR lead, you will ensure the HR department is always customer focused, delivering a good service to the organisation and pro-actively driving forward the people management strategy. You will also attend management meetings where strategic and higher-level operational input are required. 
 
Staff Training & Development 
 
Collaborate with senior managers to identify and develop staff training needs and where possible implement effective training programs.

HR Policy & Procedures 
 
To ensure terms and conditions and policies and procedures are up-to-date and comprehensive with regard to legislation and best practice. 

Other key areas of focus include: 

• Manage employee reward and wellness program, as well as looking at ways to add more initiatives.

Harris Hill is seeking an Interim Corporate Fundraiser to help identify, research, and engage new corporate prospects.

The role is 3 months, 3-5dpw and are offering up to £200 per day. This can be worked as a freelancer billing directly OUTSIDE IR35 or PAYE through the agency. 

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

Research and identify a pipeline of qualified prospective corporate donors who are headquartered in the UK/Europe and have the capacity and propensity to give at the six-figure level.  

Engage and cultivate new high value corporate/corporate foundation donors.

Create compelling propositions which reflect the organisations operational needs and aligns with donor interests.

Work with the Director of Fundraising to plan cultivation events across 2024.

Specific activities:

Identify a long list of UK/Europe headquartered corporate/corporate foundation prospects, with the propensity and capacity to support at the £100K+ level. Categorising those who can fund an specific project (£300k) and those who may be smaller in scale.

Shortlist and screen prospects to create a ‘priority pipeline’ of Corporate prospects whose interests align with organisational mission, and have the capacity to fund a specific project (£300k).

Identify contact details for all priority prospects, always aligning with GDPR.  

Support the Director of Fundraising with targeted outreach and making direct approaches, with the aim to secure an exploratory meeting.

Securing new meetings with 20+ new prospects.

As required, writing compelling proposals relevant to donor interests.

High level proposal submitted on possible cultivation / networking events that they should attend in 2024.

Knowledge and Skills

Experience in corporate Fundraising in the charity sector

A proven track record of identifying, engaging and securing five/six figure gifts from corporate/ corporate foundations in a charity setting.

Solid research skills to identify and screen prospective donors.

Ability to create compelling proposals for new audiences and influence support.

Personal Qualities

Excellent written, communication and interpersonal skills.

Attention to detail and ability to work independently to deliver goals.
