We are looking for an ambitious, results-driven fundraiser to join our UK partnerships and philanthropy team and help us increase our income from trusts, foundations and high net-worth individuals in order to support the people we serve.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION AND PURPOSE OF THE POST

As part of our ambitious plans to significantly increase private fundraising, we aim to achieve a step-change in our income from partnerships and philanthropy.

As Major Giving Officer, you will:

• Collaborate with the Global Specialist in Major Giving (based in the UK) on the delivery and implementation of an ambitious major-giving programme for HI UK, encompassing trusts & foundations, major donors and corporates, in line with UK and Federation priorities.
• Research and identify opportunities, write proposals and secure five- and six-figure major gifts from a diverse and sustainable base of major givers from the these income streams.
• Provide excellent cultivation of prospects to produce committed, long-term donors.
• Manage existing partnerships and donors to a high standard.

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General

• Work closely with the Global Specialist in Major Giving and the other Major Giving Officer to further develop major giving as a sustainable income stream in the UK, including launching and running a Capital Campaign.
• Manage data relevant to your role, keeping our database (CRM) up to date and accurate, and mining it for new prospects.
• Build your knowledge of the wide range of our work – both thematically and geographically – so you can communicate and present with expertise to donors and prospects.
• Attend relevant networking groups, external events and meetings to make contacts and represent HI UK.
• Assist with the planning and delivery of high-quality cultivation events for prospects and donors.
• Any other activities commensurate with the level of the post, as may be required.

Trusts, foundations and high net-worth individuals

• Update existing research and carry out new research to find our top trust, foundation and high net-worth individual prospects, prioritising six-figure and multi-year donors.
• Connect directly with targeted prospects through networks, introductions and events.
• Build relationships with prospects through personalised communications: face to face, on the phone and written.
• Deliver excellent relationship-management to existing partners and donors to ensure loyalty and year-on-year renewal.
• Produce high-quality and engaging proposals and presentations for meetings with prospects and donors. 
• Write and submit approximately two high-quality proposals per month for five- or six-figure sums (multi-year donations preferable) from targeted trusts and foundations.
• Source information about each project’s impact and write and submit regular reports according to the agreement with each partner organisation or individual.
• Ethically screen our prospects, in line with our ethical standards and processes.
• Liaise with the Federal fundraising team in Lyon for project content.

Other duties

• Maintain a positive and collaborative working relationship with HI UK colleagues, the Federal fundraising and communication teams, and Major Giving counterparts in other HI national associations in Europe and North America.
• Ensure compliance with fundraising regulations and high standards.
• Keep up to date and adhere to any changes in legislation, regulatory procedures, innovation, best practice and industry standards in relation to private fundraising.
• Any other activities commensurate with the level of the post, as may be required by the Global Specialist in Major Giving.

Pause works to improve the lives of women who have had more than one child removed from their care, and the services and systems that affect them.

As Communications and Policy Officer, your role will be to raise awareness and increase understanding of Pause and the experiences of the women we work with in order to achieve positive change at both a national and local level.

This is a new role, sitting within the Partnerships and Engagement team, although you will work with colleagues across the whole organisation.

You will work with the team to influence change by delivering creative communications activity and maintaining excellent working relationships with key stakeholders. This will involve working closely with our Impact and Influencing Lead as well as our colleagues in practice, participation and engagement, so that you can learn from those with lived experience and ensure their voices are at the forefront.

The ideal candidate will be an excellent communicator with the ability to deliver creative communications to influence change. You also should have a real desire to create positive change in the services and systems that affect the lives of women who have had children removed from their care.

Communications Manager – Co-op Foundation

Remote, in this role you’ll work from home but will be required to come into our Manchester office a minimum of every 6 weeks for team days. This role will include occasional evening and weekend work. 
We’re looking for a Communications Manager to join us at the Co-op Foundation. 

The Co-op Foundation is the Co-op’s charity. We’re a grant making and campaigning organisation with a co-operative difference. We care deeply about how our funding and campaigning can shift power to young people and we trust our partners to do what matters most in their communities. 

As our Communications Manager, you’ll lead on the development and delivery of communications relating to funding programmes and learning and impact. • Lead the development, coordination, delivery and evaluation of a D,E&I workplan on behalf of the Comms team

• Collaborate with and manage delivery partners contracted to deliver comms for funding programmes 

• Produce content that brings to life the funding programmes, including videos, photoshoots, in depth case studies, blogs and more 

• Manage contracts and relationships with external agencies and delivery partners to support delivery of comms 

• Build relationships with relevant media outlets and journalists and be the main point of contact for PR relating to funding programmes 

• Work co-operatively with colleagues from the wider Comms team, Funding & Partnerships and Co-op Community & Comms teams 

• Forecast and manage the funds comms budget 

This role would suit people who have 

• Great communication skills, with the ability to write in an engaging way for different comms channels, in particular digital channels 

• Experience of working in a busy comms team in the charity sector, delivering multiple projects and campaigns at any one time 

• Experience of designing and delivering integrated comms campaigns, including internally to colleagues, with good knowledge of tools used for monitoring and evaluation 

• Experience of creating content and posting on social media channels and websites

The Role 

· Assertive outreach casework with very vulnerable women

· Responsible for supporting three women in the Borough of Camden

· Intensive support for complex needs with service users with a history of non-engagement with services

Accountabilities:

Casework

· Solution-focused casework interventions with women who have experienced VAWG and severe and multiple disadvantage

· Provide emotional support using a trauma informed approach

· Build and maintain supportive relationships with ethnically Minoritised women

· Ensure ongoing assessment and management of risks associated with service users within an attitude of ‘positive risk taking’

· Provide support with life skills, including practical assistance where skills are not yet developed

· Maintain accurate case notes and up to date records

· Contribute to the completion of outcomes reports and funding returns

· Complete all documents when support work commences and keep up to date with any changing risks to or from the woman.

· Engage with a wide range of professionals (some of whom may have very different approaches to problem solving) through a multi-agency approach, and advocate to agencies on behalf of the Project and its service users

· Promote coordinated, joined-up service delivery for service users between violence against women services and drug and alcohol agencies, mental health, housing, health and legal agencies.

· Contribute to a service-wide communications plan and ensure that information about the service is widely available locally to other agencies and is also readily accessible to potential service users

· Educate a wide range of agencies and stakeholders about the challenges faced by women experiencing multiple disadvantage

· Proactively develop links with local statutory and voluntary organisations to provide a range of engagement opportunities for service users in the community

· Attend and contribute to the Domestic Violence MARAC as appropriate

· Knowledge of the particular needs of women from diverse communities and the barriers to accessing support faced by women from Global Majority communities

JOB PURPOSE

You will work closely with the Head of Philanthropy, CEO, trustees and international colleagues to steward and cultivate key donor relationships and continue the development and implementation of the strategy to grow the major donor pipeline. As a Senior Manager, you will take ownership of the overall Major Donor Strategy, and budget and provide strategic insight into how we grow and improve our programme.

You will be confident in navigating complex environments with multiple stakeholders and in negotiating internally as well as externally, championing the major donor programme to ensure a strong enabling environment for the growth of the programme. You will enjoy developing strong relationships, have excellent communication and problem-solving skills and will be adept at managing donor and prospect pipelines as well as crafting compelling donor communications.

This role will be responsible for managing the Philanthropy Manager role and will provide support, mentorship and coaching to help the development of this role.

ROLE RESPONSIBLITIES

• Manage the philanthropy manager role through coaching, and by motivating and supporting them to reach their annual target.
• Build on a warm portfolio of donors to achieve current income targets and spot opportunities for growth and deeper development of philanthropic relationships

• Managing development, delivery and coordination of work related learning activities for phase 2 of the Early Connect programme.

In this feasibility review, you will analyse our past performance including in well-established, externally organised activities such as marathons and third-party challenge events, and our partner events such as the Terry Fox Runs. You will also assess the feasibility of developing and launching our own-branded events.

During the review, you will line-manage the Sports and Challenge Events Officer to maintain and deliver our current successful events programme and work together on the feasibility review to identify new opportunities for innovation and ways to increase participation. 

You will build key relationships across the department and work collaboratively with colleagues across the organisation, to identify and work through new ways to grow participation and increase fundraising income.

At the end of the review, you will present your findings, making recommendations on the key components for a future sports and challenge programme that reflect our ambitions for growth, with plans to deliver it.
