The role:
The purpose of this role is to ensure effective, efficient and accurate day-to-day financial management and financial controls for the Fidelity UK and international Foundations, including leading on management reporting, budgeting, forecasting and cashflow planning and delivering the annual reports and accounts for all four Foundations. The post holder will prepare all finance papers for Board and Finance and Investment Subcommittee meetings and will support the oversight of the Foundations’ investment portfolios. This role will also be responsible for managing all payments made by the Foundations, in addition to ensuring risk and compliance guidelines are adhered to at all times.
The person
The successful applicant will have a detailed knowledge of accounting principles, ideally with experience of the charitable sector, and a strong track record of day-to-day financial management in a comparable role. You will have strong analytical skills and be able to demonstrate both operational and strategic thinking. You will have a proficiency in accounting (with a relevant finance qualification) and will be able to evidence the successful production of annual accounts and monthly reporting, ensuring monitoring against budgets. Additionally, you will have strong analytical and reporting skills, exceptional attention to detail, excellent communication and presentation skills, and hands-on experience of explaining complex financial information clearly and concisely. Finally, you will have a high degree of humility and a collaborative style and will be able to pro-actively manage a diverse workload on your own initiative.

· Holds an acounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA) part or fully qualified or qualified by experience.

· Has experience of working in or with the not-for-profit sector and housing sector.

You will have advanced knowledge of MS Excel, Sage Payroll software and of the benefits system, tax credits and universal credits.

The organisation Working with a very well-established charitable foundation, the organisation comprises of three independent schools and two state-funded academies.
They are the holding company which owns the school land and buildings and manages the endowments valued at c.£50m. The Foundation Office delivers a "head office" type finance function for the Group and a range of other services to the schools, including governance and HR.
Your role The Group Finance Manager will work within a small team and an extended team of around 15-20 finance staff in the schools. The post reports to the Group Finance Director and the finance function are assisted by a part-time Finance Officer. The core part of the role is the production of the
annual report. You will also manage the group cash treasury system, managing 20+ bank accounts.
You will manage significant investments and investment property. You will also maintain an accurate cash flow forecast for the group. The annual audit is also a major part of the work, and you will be expected to play a key part in the management of the audit and preparation of the financial information for both the Foundation, and its trading subsidiaries and charitable trusts. There are significant capital projects in the pipeline which will also require support.
What you will need to succeed

Interim Head of Finance | 3 Month + | £300 - £350 per day (outside IR35) | Hybrid | Croydon
For a small but vital refugee charity, we are recruiting an Interim Head of Finance for 3 + months, starting ASAP. Reporting to the CEO, the main accountabilities will focus on providing insightful monthly management accounts and reporting to the Senior Leadership Team and Trustees / Board, and to ensure the correct allocation of expenditure to a high number of grant funds. This role will oversee the Finance Assistant and the day-to-day finance transactions, including expenses, payroll, and balance sheet reconciliations.
Main Duties:

Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare reconciliation schedules for accruals and pre-payments; reconciling deferred income; undertaking balance reconciliations and cash-flow forecasting.

* The post holder must be part qualified accountant.

* Have excellent verbal and written communication skills.

About the role
Reporting to the CFO, the Head of Finance is responsible for leading a team of 5 and overseeing the day-to-day financial management of the charity, supporting and developing its financial strategies. In collaboration with the Charity’s Executive Team, the role is responsible for safeguarding the short, medium and long-term financial health of the organisation. This includes all financial reporting requirements, treasury management (overseeing the organisation's cash and liquidity performance) and the management of the annual budget and financial planning processes. Areas of responsibility will include:
Financial Strategy and Policy
- Support the Charity’s Executive Team with ensuring the short, medium and long term financial health of the organisation
- Collaborate with the Charity’s SMT to prepare business cases and financial models to support new business activities and investment proposals
- Review and update the charities financial policies
- Cultivate a support structure across the organisation where the finance department acts as a trusted business partner for operations and management
Reporting
- Oversee all financial reporting processes for the Charity, ensuring that accurate, timely and relevant information is disseminated across the organisation
- Work with the SMT to identify areas to improve the reporting processes
Statutory Reporting, Audit & Risk
- Manage the Charity’s financial statutory compliance for both audit and regulatory matters and oversee the finance risk register
- Lead the year-end audit process, including the preparation of audit schedules, reconciliations and acting as a key point of contact for the auditors
- Prepare the financial disclosures sections of the Charity ‘s annual reports and the accompanying narrative to explain the financial performance of the year

Cash Flow Management
- Monitory the Charity’s cash flow, manage the working capital controls and produce cashflow reports and forecasts
- Oversee the Charity’s cash flow management processes and report on cash flow performance against budget and forecast targets.
- Prepare weekly cash flow forecasts which provide a consistently reliable understanding of the organisation’s cash flow position over the financial year.
Finance Department Development
- Design and implement learning and development frameworks for each member of the Finance department.
- Ensure that each member of the Finance department is sufficiently supported to fulfil their performance development goals.
About you
- Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA or equivalent)

Donor Finance Cost and Pricing Manager - up to £51,000. London - Hybrid
For an International NGO operating in 40 countries worldwide, we are recruiting a Donor Finance Cost and Pricing Manager - Programme Design and Development. Reporting to the Senior Cost and Pricing Manager, this role will partner with the Programme Design and Development Team to secure new funding via first-class responses to country-level, multi-country, regional and global opportunities for donor funding. Main Duties:
- Develop Cost Proposals: Supporting the proposal development processes and coordinate the Donor cost proposal; reviewing budget templates and cost guidance for country programs, ensuring all Donor cost requirements are met. Travel to country programme to assist in budget building as required

This part-time role offers a flexible schedule of 19 hours per week, spread over 3 to 4 days, with a requirement to attend the office at least once a month and participate in occasional evening Trustee meetings. As a Finance Controller, you will support the management team and finance committee by utilizing financial information to effectively plan and administer services. Your responsibilities will include managing the contract for outsourced day-to-day financial operations and overseeing our fundholding relationships. You will also use business intelligence tools to develop dashboards that deliver insightful data for strategic decision-making and perform trend analysis to optimise financial decisions.
The role involves ensuring the provision of accurate and comprehensive financial management information across the organisation, collaborating on developing budgets and financial reports for both current and potential funders, identifying risks, contributing to successful audits, and maximising cost recovery on restricted contracts. Additionally, you will serve as the main contact for external finance-related stakeholders, manage petty cash, and provide reporting at Finance and Trustee Board meetings.
The ideal candidate for this position will have experience in formulating, overseeing, and reporting on operational plans with a strategic and collaborative mindset. - Be a CCAB qualified finance professional with significant post-qualification experience in senior management roles
- Have demonstrable prior experience working in a no.1 Director of Finance or CFO level role
- Be highly experienced managing substantial budgets, resources and funding
- Have an excellent track record of managing and motivating teams, as well as being able to demonstrate strong negotiation and influencing skills both externally and internally

The Head of Finance is required to provide excellent leadership skills and oversight to a transforming finance function, including team mentoring, embedding improved financial management processes and systems, and making sure that Charity meets financial and legal obligations.
Purpose of role
- You will be part of the SMT with responsibility of providing timely and accurate financial information and strategic analysis to inform and influence discussion.
- Maintain an effective working relationship with the COO, SMT and the Board, Audit and Risk.
- Review, develop and implement improved financial management processes to support the financial management, including assessing opportunities for cost reduction and surplus improvement.
- Provide an external interface with key stakeholders such as banks, auditors, insurers, pension funds, consultants, and charity finance specialists
- Take the lead role in developing close working relationships with the auditors and the bank and other external partners
- Prepare the organisation’s annual financial statements in time for external audit
- Ensure full reconciliation of balance sheet accounts are completed on monthly basis
- Prepare the organisation’s annual budget, ensuring it aligns to the organisation’s strategy and business plan.
