About the Role
This role sits within the Academic Development & Standards Team and provides administrative support for the College’s education development work. The post holder will help with the day-to-day coordination and delivery of activity across CPD, Joint Speciality Fellowships (JSF), accreditation, educational consultancy, webinars, management of educational platforms (iLearn), SERI Lab.
The role is varied and will involve maintaining records, responding to enquiries, issuing certificates, arranging meetings, supporting webinars, collating evaluation data, booking travel and helping with finance administration. This will include support with draft invoices, payment management, credit card reconciliation and debtors’ information where required.
The post holder will work closely with colleagues across the Education Development, JSF, and eLearning teams, as well as with members, customers, faculty, reviewers and other external contacts. The role requires someone who is organised, accurate and able to manage a busy workload, particularly where tasks are time critical.
There may be a requirement to work outside normal working hours on occasion, particularly to support webinar delivery or other education activity. Occasional travel may also be required.
Experience/Qualifications/Key Skills
This is an excellent opportunity for someone who is organised, methodical and confident in providing administrative support in a busy team environment.
The successful candidate will have a good standard of education, including GCSE English at Grade C or above, or equivalent experience. They will have proven administrative and organisational skills, experience of working with databases, and the ability to maintain accurate records.
A strong academic skill set is important for this role. The successful candidate should be confident working with written information, taking accurate minutes, drafting clear documents, collating evaluation data and supporting academic and educational processes. They should be able to review information carefully, identify key points and present written work to a high standard.
Strong communication and customer service skills are also essential, as the role involves working with a range of colleagues, members, customers, faculty, reviewers and external stakeholders. The successful candidate will be confident using Microsoft Office, including Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint, and will be able to prioritise their workload with minimum supervision.
The role would suit someone who takes a proactive approach, uses their initiative and is confident working independently with minimal guidance. They should have:
· Good attention to detail.
· A professional manner and a flexible approach to work.
· Experience of supporting meetings, preparing papers or reports, and working within an academic, educational or healthcare environment would be valuable.
· Problem-solving skills and the ability to support practical improvements to administrative processes would also be beneficial.
