We are growing our information and support service and looking for two Helpline and Information Coordinators to join our team  working 21 hrs per week.

You will be the first point of contact for our telephone helpline, actively listening to callers, assessing their needs and providing high quality information and signposting to Retina UK’s resources including our amazing team of lived experience volunteers who will provide emotional support and guidance as well as coping strategies.  We believe that our community deserve the very best support and you will be the professional face of our telephone helpline.

Additionally, you will have responsiblity for the development of information materials and online resources, further enhancing the support we offer to our community.  We are looking for someone with previous experience in a similar role with a charity or in an eye health and social care setting.  If you want to ensure that people living with inherited, progressive sight loss have the best support experience when they really need it, we’d love to hear from you.

Responsibilities of our Data Analyst:

As Data Analyst you will be responsible for the delivery of actionable and highly effective supporter analysis, reports, dashboards and statistical models to inform the evidence-based decision making of the Marketing and Income Generation directorate. The Data Analyst will support departmental strategies and plans by analysing campaign effectiveness and providing a clear understanding of our audiences to optimise supporter journeys, improve targeting and drive engagement. You’ll build a sustainable team of proactive volunteers affected by Parkinson’s to energise our communications through their personal stories and participation in communications work.

What you’ll do:

• Manage, monitor and report on the bilingual web pages and Facebook page for Wales

• Maximise coverage for campaigns and fundraising communications in Wales, and produce creative content, including video

• Research and ‘sell’ stories to maximise coverage, involving people affected by Parkinson’s

• Provide Welsh language media interviews

• Conduct media and social media training for staff and volunteers and produce media briefings to support interviews

• Experience of interviewing and case study collection within sensitive topics

As Welfare Officer you will work alongside four National Support Coordinators, ensuring our members receive welfare and benefit related information, advice, and guidance via telephone, zoom meetings, and email.

Who are we?

Myaware is the only charity in the UK dedicated solely to the care and support of people affected by myasthenia. 

We are working hard to raise awareness, as it is a little-unknown condition. We provide support for people with myasthenia and their families, whilst offering advice and tips for living with the illness. 

We also fund the research that brings us closer to finding a cure as well as funding specialists nurses and advisors.

Myaware supports people with myasthenia and their families.  We campaign for better medical services for people with myasthenia and work to inform medical professionals. 

The myasthenia’s are a group of neuromuscular conditions. They are rare but also manageable and can affect anyone, regardless of age, gender, or nationality. Myasthenia gravis, ocular myasthenia, and Lambert-Eaton myasthenic syndrome are autoimmune conditions whereas congenital myasthenic syndrome is caused by an inherited genetic fault. It is thought that there are approximately 20,000 people currently living with myasthenia in the UK.

The Opportunity

This role sits within our Evaluation unit in our Impact Partnerships team, who work with education organisations such as charities, universities and education technology companies (our ‘impact partners’). Our work focuses on helping these organisations to design and deliver evaluations, and to build their capacity for impact evaluation.

We are looking for a candidate who can support the team internally with a variety of delivery and administrative processes, working directly with our schools and partners to support their evaluation journey. This will include supporting new schools through their onboarding and data collection processes and monitoring their usage of our digital platform, the School Impact Platform.  You will also be responsible for liaising with schools to schedule focus groups with teachers and pupils and organise these events accordingly, and supporting colleagues with facilitating data collection and analysis, which will include reporting processes and creating surveys which form part of our evaluation work with schools.

The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to apply for our new professional development pathway, launching this summer. On this two-year scheme, a small cohort will rotate between our practices, gaining wider experience within strategy, evaluation and operational development within the education and social enterprise space.

About You

We are looking for some of the following attributes, though you might be more experienced in some areas than others, and open to a range of backgrounds:

• Understanding and experience of the UK education system

• Experience of quantitative and qualitative data analysis (using Excel is preferred, and this doesn’t need to be highly advanced) and report writing

The heart of our operation is on a remote and beautiful 800-acre island, where we are delivering stunning, sympathetic builds and authentic guest experiences in an area of outstanding scenery.

We run a monitoring programme to capture our social and environmental impact and effectiveness across a range of indicators and are looking for an enthusiastic, creative person to help with this work and become our Impact Coordinator. Our chief areas of charitable engagement include Education, Rural and Community Regeneration, Arts, Culture, Heritage and Science, Environmental Protection and Improvement, and Health and Wellbeing.

The purpose of this role will be the accurate measurement of the effectiveness and social value of the projects we deliver for our owning Charitable Trust. This role will suit a graduate with degrees, or equivalent experience, in the Social Sciences, Sustainable Development, Management or related fields. This is an opportunity for an ambitious candidate to jump straight into a well-supported role on a big project and produce well-presented, evidence-based stories about the project’s impact using numbers, text, and multimedia for a variety of different audiences.

We gather social value data and KPIs, and have a burgeoning collection of testimonials, feedback, and imagery. We need someone to help build and maintain our qualitative and quantitative data library. This will very much be a “doing” role, involving time spent with spreadsheets and reports, as well as time spent with the team helping them with the same. We are collating the story of the project to date for a key report in Q1 2025.

Our team is diverse, driven, and comes from across the country and further afield. We have our own growing island community of staff and guests, while also being embedded in mainland life in nearby crofting townships and villages. There are opportunities for working with different teams, sailing heritage boats, hosting guests, educating school pupils, and supporting projects on the mainland.

We are looking for a capable, self-motivated individual with excellent communication skills who will thrive on a challenging project. We anticipate out-of-the-box thinking and self-presentation from the get-go. Training and development will be offered to the right candidate. I’m working with a fantastic international animal protection organisation, working with society, governments and companies to end cruelty to farmed animals. Joining their UK team, your role as Communications and Digital Marketing Officer will lead on the delivery of a cohesive digital marketing strategy, while ensuring that all content aligns with organisational brand and values. As Communications and Digital Marketing Officer you will grow the organisation’s online audience. You will engage new and existing donor, prospect and fan bases, using effective and innovative digital marketing strategies. Your role will see you create, manage, and optimise paid campaigns: run ads on Meta, YouTube and other relevant platforms to secure high-quality supporters at the most cost-effective rate possible. Manage their Google Ads grant, maximising the return on investment.

Prospectus is delighted to be supporting a national health charity in their search for a Health and Safety Officer to contribute to the overall implantation of the Health and Safety team’s objectives. This is a part-time, (21 hours a week), 18-month FTC position, offered remotely.
 
As a key member of the Service and Support team, the new Health and Safety Officer will work closely with groups providing transport services, and employees managing offices and shops to ensure the application of the Risk Management Framework. The postholder will manage the audit process carried out by external auditors, and where appropriate, audit activities carried out by groups also (property and transport). The Health and Safety will investigate accidents and incidents as appropriate, following up with outcomes and changes to the Risk Management Framework.
 
To be successful, you will have experience of working with in house Health and Safety systems, covering risk areas associated with volunteers. You will have a NEBOSH certificate and be a member of the institute of Occupational Safety and Health. You will have an in-depth knowledge, and up-to-date knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, particularly those that relate to the voluntary/charity sector. You will have experience of risk assessment, inspection and auditing procedures, with experience managing the health and safety of either properties or transport. You will have excellent written and verbal communication skills, with an ability to build effective working relationships with volunteers.

The Role

We are looking for a coordinator to carry out the delivery of our Vocational Qualifications and Funded Modern Apprenticeship Programmes.

The role includes course and funding administration, communication with students and teaching staff, registration with external bodies, and maintenance of student records.

This post requires essential knowledge of IT with a clear understanding of data input and good data management principles, attention to detail and the ability to follow strict timelines in accordance with our funders, as well as adhering to contract requirements. You must be knowledgeable in using Microsoft office packages, be keen to learn various administrative procedures and to use database systems, both internal and external. We also require good communication and organisational skills.

We continuously recruit students for our various programmes throughout the year, so the successful candidate will have a flexible approach and the ability to prioritise. We are a small organisation so the ability to work independently and to self-motivate is essential, as well as being a supportive member of a small admin team.

This post is part time, 28 hours per week. We can offer a hybrid approach, however 3 days in the office environment is preferred (EH7 5QY)
