Job description

DreamArts fuses arts and therapeutic practice to support wellbeing. Our acclaimed DREAMARTS REP company brings together young artists from refugee backgrounds aged 14–25 to create bold, original theatre that combines drama, film, music and movement.

Based at Marylebone Theatre, the company devises and produces a new show each year before touring to leading theatres across the UK, including Sheffield Crucible, Birmingham Rep and Theatre Royal Plymouth. Our five-star reviewed productions place young people centre stage as artists, developing their creative talents, confidence, wellbeing and sense of belonging.

We are looking for an inspiring male Associate Artist & Assistant Producer with strong skills in theatre-making, devising and directing, who is passionate about creating outstanding performances with young people. You’ll be committed to supporting young people from refugee backgrounds, building trusting relationships and using creativity to nurture their artistic development and emotional wellbeing.

Working alongside our Artistic Director, you’ll co-lead weekly creative sessions, help devise and produce original touring productions, and support the company’s outreach, partnerships and audience engagement. This is a varied role with different priorities throughout the year, offering opportunities to develop your skills and contribute to the continued growth of this exciting young company.

You’ll receive training in DreamArts’ therapeutic approaches and become part of a supportive, collaborative team that values creativity, ambition and the unique contribution of every individual.

In our last staff satisfaction survey 100% of team members felt inspired at DreamArts to do their best at their job, and 100% said that their voice and skills matter at DreamArts.

★★★★★ “A moving, inventive and timely piece of contemporary theatre that leaves a lasting impression… It showcases emerging talent while proving that theatre can still challenge perceptions, foster empathy and entertain in equal measure.” Lichfield Radio review of DreamArts Rep.

“The performance work produced by DreamArts Rep Company is of an extraordinarily high artistic quality, and of huge social value.” — Professor Bridget Escolme, Queen Mary University of London
