Key Responsibilities
Strategy Development and Implementation
- Leading the organisation through the iterative development and implementation of strategic projects to serve the ambition of Resurgo, to “inspire and equip organisations to deliver ambitious and sustainable social change”
- Provide direction and support to Heads of Department, setting them up to succeed in the implementation of ambitious plans
- Line management of the Strategy Managaer, who project manages and drives the delivery of annual departmental targets and strategic projects across the organisation.
Finance
- Line management of Head of Finance, providing strategic leadership in the development of the finance function and oversight of organisational financial management
- Lead the annual planning process, working with the Head of Finance and Director of People, Culture & Operations to shape and deliver annual financial planning
Oversight of Governance, Risk and Opportunity
- Executive Chair of the Strategy, Finance and Risk steering group, owning the most significant risks and opportunities facing Resurgo at an organisational level, ensuring actions are taken to mitigate risks and that we are set up to maximise opportunity
- Responsible for overseeing governance structures and ensuring they are fit for purpose as the organisation develops and grows

Main duties and Responsibilities

About the team
Our Finance Department works as a team of experts to safeguard resources and support decision making across Shelter. We strive to ensure Shelter is financially sustainable in order to achieve our vision of a home for everyone. This particular role sits within the Financial Planning and Analysis team. We support the charity through financial reporting, analysis, and expert advice, and enable collaboration to support managers in making effective business decisions.
About the role
Joining a finance team that collaborates and communicates effectively to help us deliver our mission and vision, making vital business decisions that are driven by expert knowledge and financial acumen will be key to your success here. As part of the role, you’ll engage regularly with our Assistant Directors and their leadership teams to ensure that financial results and key messages are shared and you’ll support stakeholders in engaging with fully available financial insight and reporting. When it comes to our stakeholders, you’ll support and lead finance education and training to equip them with the skills required to execute their own financial responsibilities.
Among your many challenges will be the need to align financial plans to operational and strategic plans and make sure they’re clearly understood by Business Units. The Huntington's Disease Association is a UK registered charity that supports people affected by Huntington's disease across England and Wales. We provide information, advice and support to families, friends, and healthcare professionals.
As the charity grows and develops, we are keen to strengthen our infrastructure and are now seeking an experienced Human Resources Manager to join our team.
Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Human Resources Manager will lead on and support the smooth running of the HR function and the management of effective and confidential systems and processes to deliver day to day HR services.
They will manage the employee journey through all stages of the work cycle from recruitment, retention, development, performance and wellness to departure and act as first point of contact for HR related queries. They will also play an integral part in supporting staff and inputting into strategies that focus on wellbeing, equality, diversity and inclusion, reward and recognition, and learning and development, and ensure employees across the organisation have the skills, resilience and resources they need to carry out their work.
The Human Resources Manager will ensure the charity remains compliant with employment law, other relevant legislation and best practice and will seeks the continuous improvement of Human Resources systems, policies and procedures.
