We are seeking a dynamic and creative fundraiser to support activity across community and events fundraising. The role will focus on providing exceptional stewardship for our calendar of community and events fundraising. The Brompton Fountain is the children’s charity at Royal Brompton Hospital - a world leading specialist centre for complex heart and lung disease. We work in partnership with the teams on the wards, paediatric intensive care unit (PICU) and in outpatient clinics. Our charity provides support and resources for patients, families and staff, as well as funding lifesaving medical equipment, accommodation - so that parents can stay close to their child during an admission, toys and entertainment for the playroom and improvements to the facilities to create the best possible environment for families to promote their wellbeing during what can often be a very challenging time. In collaboration with the hospital trust and the NHS we also fund research projects and develop new initiatives for babies, children and young people with heart and lung conditions. 

About You

Main Duties and Responsilbilties 

Community and Events Fundraising

• Assist in the planning and execution of a diverse range of fundraising events, including challenge events and community initiatives.

• Support the management of event logistics, including participant communication, volunteer coordination, and on-the-day activities.

• Collaborate with external partners and suppliers to ensure smooth event operations and build strong relationships for future collaboration.

• Lead outreach efforts to engage new local community partners, such as (small) businesses, schools, and clubs, promoting fundraising opportunities and supporting their initiatives.

• Lead on generating income through supermarket schemes. • To represent the charity when required in schools, engagement events and cheque presentations. 

Individual Giving

• Manage the regular giving programme by implementing a rolling 12-month plan of meaningful touchpoints to deepen relationships.

• Develop and implement a plan to encourage increased giving and recruit new regular donors with personalised cultivation and stewardship.

• Maximise engagement and retention of individual supporters (giving at lower to mid-level) by prompt thanking, excellent stewardship and building effective donor journeys.

Supporter Care

• Serve as the primary point of contact for community and events fundraisers, delivering outstanding stewardship ensuring they receive the information and support needed to maximise their fundraising potential while maintaining the highest standards of stewardship and being respectful of potential sensitivities particularly when working with families who are fundraising in memory.

• Provide timely and effective follow-up communications with supporters, ensuring they feel valued and engaged.

• Maintain our CRM database ensuring accurate records to track communications, income, and supporter preferences, ensuring compliance with GDPR and data protection laws. 

Administrative and Financial Support

• Process cash and cheque donations, Gift Aid and matched funding claims, ensuring this income is processed and recorded accurately on our database.

• Manage the distribution of supporter resources, conduct stock checks for fundraising materials and ensure an organised work environment for all fundraising assets.

• Overseeing our online shop.

Marketing and Communication

• Create engaging materials (posters, leaflets, stories etc), social media content and e-newsletters to inspire participation in fundraising activities.

• Produce impact reports and collate information for the HOF to support fundraising initiatives and grant applications.

• Ensure fundraising and associated webpages are kept up to date. Team Collaboration

• Work collaboratively with the wider team (when required) to support in-hospital and community events as well as assisting with tasks as needed to ensure smooth charity operations.

• Support the CEO and team members with ad hoc projects, activities, and any high-priority tasks to contribute to overall team objectives.

• Any other duties as required by the Head of Fundraising.

Additional Information

Salary is £30,000 - £32,000 per annum (DOE). The role covers 37.5 hours per week. Two days per week working in our charity office at Royal Brompton Hospital - London, and the remaining hours to be worked remotely. Occasional evening and weekend work subject to our events calendar. Exact working pattern to be discussed at the interview stage.

One-year fixed term contract with the potential to extend contract length subject to performance and funding.

A full driving licence or the ability to travel to events and meetings within London and the South East is essential.

Main Responsibilities:

1. Acting as a first point of contact for the Toy Appeal, responding to enquires from organisations wishing to take part in the appeal, as well as internal colleagues receiving gifts for service users.   

2. Responding to all enquiries in a timely and professional manner.  

3. Matching gift requests with pledges from donors and preparing information on gift requests.  

4. Maintaining a live list of all requests for gifts from approx. 60 services and projects, and over 100 companies and community groups, updating as matches are made and requests are filled.   

5. Building positive relationships with corporate donors through written and verbal communications, including email, telephone and occasionally meetings/visits where appropriate.   

6. Co-ordinating deliveries of gifts from donors to projects, ensuring needs and requirements of both parties are met.   

7. Accurately creating and maintaining donor and donation records on Family Action’s Salesforce based CRM system.  

8. Assisting the Corporate Partnerships Manager and Fundraising Administrator with donation processing and administration.   

9. Stewarding Toy Appeal fundraisers, encouraging the use of fundraising platforms such as JustGiving, providing fundraising materials and sharing the impact of their fundraising.

10. Researching to find suppliers for gifts that need to be purchased using donated funds.   

11. Supporting the Marketing and Communications team by providing regular information and updates about the appeal.   

12. To ensure you have an understanding (appropriate to your role) of, and comply with Family Action’s procedures for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of children and vulnerable adults.

This is a new role within the Bereavement Support Service proactively engaging bereaved families with the support service, respond to bereavement support digital enquiries, working in a team to deliver and ensure anyone seeking advice and support on bereavement is given a high-quality service in a timely way.

The aim of this post is to provide consistent, high-quality emotional support via digital channels to bereaved families who seek support from the Lullaby Trust.

Main duties and responsibilities

1. Proactively engage bereaved families with the support service, respond to bereavement support digital enquiries, working in a team to deliver and ensure anyone seeking advice and support on bereavement is given a high-quality service in a timely way.

· Assist with the setting up of new digital channels to be used by the Lullaby Trust to answer and respond to bereaved families.

· To be the primary contact for the bereavement support digital services including WhatsApp, text, webchat and other social media channels.

· Proactively engage with bereaved families through social media and other online platforms.

· Ensure any safeguarding concerns are actioned in accordance with the organisations Safeguarding policy.

· Send materials to bereaved contacts, including bereavement packs and follow up emails and ensure all documents and databases are updated with each contact in line with the department guidelines, including Raiser’s Edge, Excel databases.

· Cover and answer the bereavement support helpline and online enquiries responding within the set guidelines and KPIs for the department.

· Ensure any messages on Bereavement Support Facebook Groups are monitored and advice is given via befrienders where appropriate.

· Attend face to face events for bereaved families including family days and memorial events when needed.

· Work with Income and Engagement Team around social media bereavement support content/posts.

2. Deliver and run live bereavement themed sessions on social media

· Run monthly live sessions on social media on bereavement topics/themes, responding to comments and messages during and after the sessions, ensuring anyone seeking ongoing support is responded to and referred to relevant services .

· Work with the Engagement Team to promote live session.

· Facilitate monthly remembrance sessions.

3. Ensure the bereavement support services are promoted to those bereaved and to professionals working with bereaved families

· Assist with the recruitment and facilitation of Bereaved Families’ Panel.

· Keep up to date with the bereavement support world including joining National Bereavement Alliance, Child Bereavement Network and research around grief and bereavement.

· Attend events as required to represent the Lullaby Trust’s bereavement support services.

4. Maintain accurate records throughout all services, complying with the organisation’s recording and reporting requirements

Maintain ongoing knowledge and training on the Lullaby Trust’s advice and the scientific knowledge behind this advice.

Collate statistics, as required on areas of work within the support services team.

Assist with the services’ evaluation and impact processes.

Provide other administrative support to the team as required.

BACKGROUND INFORMATION

Emmanuel is one of the Colleges that make up the collegiate structure of the University of Cambridge. We provide a community-focused environment for learning, living and working in peaceful and beautiful grounds situated in the centre of the City. The College was founded in 1584 by Sir Walter Mildmay and has been a centre of outstanding learning ever since. It currently has around 700 students (undergraduate and postgraduate), 90 Fellows (who teach and research at the College) and 180 staff. We welcome people into the Emma community from across the globe, of many different backgrounds, with many different experiences.

The Development Office supports the college in its charitable purpose by building and maintaining a supportive, lifelong, two-way relationship with Members (alumni), and engaging the community of members and friends to contribute their time, expertise and philanthropy. Between 2015 and 2022, the Development Office raised £38m in new philanthropic income through the Emma enables campaign. This was the college’s most successful campaign ever and saw a significant uplift in philanthropy across major, regular, and legacy giving. We are looking now to build on this momentum as we plan the next campaign.

PRINCIPAL RESPONSIBILITES

The post-holder’s principal objective is to manage the successful development and delivery of the College’s regular giving programme, using multi-channel approaches to increase the value and number of members (alumni) and friends who give, to build on this sustainable annual source of philanthropic income.

Fundraising

• Manage and develop a successful regular giving programme, taking initiative to plan and organise an annual cycle of activity to ensure all contactable members are solicited for a gift once a year, maximising donor retention.
• Manage and deliver the annual telephone campaign, including working with consultants, preparing data, drafting letters, recruiting students, training and call-room management.
• Organise mass and tailored annual appeals (both digital and postal) to members.
• Achieve annual targets for increasing the percentage and number of members and friends who give, set in collaboration with the Head of Development.
• Move prospects through the gift cycle and up the giving ladder in a timely manner.
• Identify and refer regular or longstanding donors with potentially greater capacity to other fundraisers as appropriate.

Communications

• Contact donors whose pledges are due to expire to encourage renewals and upgrades.
• Prepare thank you letters ensuring that donors to the regular giving programme are thanked promptly and appropriately.
• Confidently engage with the college community – including students and Fellows – to gain an understanding of the need for philanthropic support.
• Write compelling fundraising copy for mass appeals.
• Work with the Engagement Manager to contribute to the production of stewardship materials.

Analysis and Innovation 

• Analyse the performance and effectiveness of solicitations and mailings, identifying trends, testing solutions, sourcing additional related information where appropriate.
• Analyse sector benchmarking data to provide strategic insight into the comparative performance of the College’s regular giving programme.
• Develop a strong knowledge of sector best practice through networking, benchmarking, identifying and undertaking training and development opportunities and, where appropriate, implement these best practices.
• Research and identify new opportunities, thinking creatively to develop unique appeals.
• Develop and maintain good working relationships with colleagues across the Collegiate University, attending working groups, training opportunities and the annual development conference where appropriate.

General Administration

• Ensure that data is recorded accurately and concisely on the Raiser’s Edge database.
• Maintain a high level of confidentiality in the maintenance of personal and financial records and ensure compliance at all times with Data Protection legislation.
• Have expert knowledge and understanding of current legislation impacting upon regular giving and stewardship, marketing and operations, such as gift aid, General Data Protection Regulations and fundraising regulation, and ensure operational compliance.
• Represent and promote the Development Office within college and externally, attending occasional member events where appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues in the Development team and across the college in delivering the overall Development Strategy.
• Any other duties reasonably required of the Regular Giving Officer.
• Manage own workload, undertaking planning, agreeing priorities and timescales to meet schedules and deadlines in an effective and efficient manner.

About the role

We are looking for a 12 months fixed term Challenge Events Assistant with excellent supporter care and Excel skills to join our growing team as we support over 100,000 people to raise £35m for people living with cancer. 

You will work as part of the Challenge Events Assistant team to manage the stewardship and data for our large portfolio of Challenge Events.

You will provide excellent supporter care by email, through our CRM system and online through our Facebook inbox and private event groups and fulfil participant requests using our systems and processes. 

You will also be responsible for sorting and formatting data in Microsoft Excel for a range of purposes. This could include, but is not limited to, helping us import participant data on our event management system and creating mailing lists for our comms.

We are looking for a Community Fundraising Manager to develop our fundraising ambitions and work with our community.  

This is a varied and interesting role which will give you the opportunity to see your impact first-hand, as you will be interacting daily with people whose lives are affected by PANS or PANDAS.  You will also provide logistical and project management support on fundraising events. 

Our small community means that our fundraisers tend to be families affected by PANS or PANDAS.  We are passionate about creating opportunities for members of our community to support us in ways that create joy in their own lives.  We intend that fundraising activities and events should help tackle the isolation and other difficulties that are faced by those living with these complex and misunderstood conditions. 

We are looking to recruit a Finance Officer to help with the financial management of the charity. The role is part time, 14 hours per week, although the days and times of work can be flexible and subject to discussion and agreement.

About Moseley Community Development trust

We are a local charity working across the Moseley ward of Birmingham, supporting a range of environmental, social and economic projects.  We deliver a range of community events and activities, including support provided through our Neighbourhood Outreach Worker to individuals who are homeless or at risk of homelessness and support provided by our Community Connector.  We are based at Moseley Exchange, where we offer a range of services including Coworking, Office Rental, Room Hire and Community Information and our second site Moseley Hive.

The Role

This is a key role within our small friendly team.  As Finance Officer you would be responsible for a range of tasks and activities including:

● Bookkeeping

● Processing Payroll

● Supplier Payments

● Invoicing

● Monthly Management Accounts

● Credit control

● Bank reconciliation

● Supporting the preparation of the annual accounts

● Supporting the annual budgeting process

Experience of using Quickbooks and Moneysoft Payroll would be an advantage, however it is not a necessity, as long as you are comfortable using new IT systems.

We are a small, friendly and supportive team. Whilst we can offer flexibility in hours, reliability is important in this critical role.

The Director of Finance and Resources is responsible for managing the charity’s finances efficiently and accurately, ensuring that all financial activities are carried out in compliance with statutory, regulatory and contractual requirements. Playing a key role in strategic planning, including planning for future budgets and allocation of resources in collaboration with the CEO and Board, the Director of Finance & Resources also leads on HR and IT for the Trust and supports the implementation of good governance practices. The role oversees the production of monthly management accounts, line-managing the Finance Officer who takes care of day-to-day financial functions. You will provide financial recommendations to the Finance & Audit Committee (which meets quarterly), ensuring that the Trust’s financial practices adhere to statutory regulations and legislation. The Director of Finance & Resources also leads on the Trust’s annual audit and production of Annual accounts, filed with the Charity Commission. For this role you will need to have strong experience in finance, accounting or a related field, demonstrating excellent analytical skills and numerical proficiency alongside capability to think strategically and facility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.

Everyone associated with the Trust works remotely and has always done so. Our team, Board, volunteers and partners are UK-wide and so meetings and events are held regularly in London and across the country. You will report to the CEO and line manage the Finance Officer. As a member of the Senior Management Team, you will regularly collaborate with our Board of trustees and, particularly, the Chair and members of the Finance & Audit Committee.

The purpose of the Interim People Development Manager role is to deliver high-impact learning and development services that help Refuge be a great place to work and support their strategic priorities. You will lead and motivate their small but high performing training team to roll out blended learning, accredited qualifications, leadership development, and a brand-new LMS. The Interim People Development Manager is a remote position with little need to attend their office in central London. The pro rata salary based on working 30 hours per week will be £42,400 + £2,400 London Weighting if you live in London or the home counties.

The key responsibilities of the role include:

• Leading and developing the Training & Learning team, delivering high-quality, customer-focused learning programmes including blended learning, onboarding, management development, and accredited training.
• Driving strategic learning initiatives by designing and implementing a training strategy, policies, and competency frameworks aligned with Refuge’s values and EDI principles.
• Collaborating across the organisation, providing expert coaching and guidance to managers, supporting local team development, and embedding a culture of continuous improvement.
• Overseeing learning systems, including the implementation of a new Learning Management System (LMS), managing training requests, e-learning delivery, and robust evaluation and reporting.
• Ensuring all training complies with Refuge’s policies and safeguarding commitments, fostering an inclusive and supportive environment.
• Managing training budgets and partnerships effectively, contributing to organisational development and supporting the wider People & Culture team as needed.
