Job description

The Head of Data & Impact plays a pivotal part in ensuring that Smart Works is a data-driven organisation, where insight and analysis underpin strategic decision-making and service delivery. At its core, this position is responsible for overseeing the how the charity measures impact. 

 

 The role champions a culture of data literacy and informed decision-making throughout the charity. By producing insightful internal and external reports, leading evaluation projects, and supporting equality, diversity and inclusion (EDI) efforts through robust data practices, this position directly contributes to the organisation’s strategic goals. Acting as the charity’s Data Protection Lead, the role also ensures compliance and best practice in handling personal data, reinforcing trust and transparency in every aspect of Smart Works’ activity. 

 

They will also provide strategic leadership for the charity's database - used across all centres - to manage client, volunteer and referrer information. This includes overseeing system updates, working with external contractors, and maintaining data integrity and functionality across the board.

 

Ideally, the successful candidate will be based at one of our London centres and will travel to other Smart Works centres across the UK when needed, though we are happy to accept applications from candidates who are not based in London but believe they are a good fit for the role. 

 

There may be occasional evening and weekend work as the successful candidate will be part of the wider centre team, supporting with key events. TOIL is given for evening and weekend work.
