The successful candidate will have:

• Strong experience working with CRM systems (ideally Raiser’s Edge),

  • Strong working knowledge of using MS Excel formulae and functions, such as Lookups, Conditional Formatting, Pivot Tables, removal of duplicates and calculus
  • Experience running and building queries to obtain targeted data selections, including exporting of relevant data for direct mail appeals and reports
  • Experience of working with large data sets, including undertaking data manipulation, importing of data, cleaning and interrogating data
  • Experience of importing clean data into Raiser’s Edge is highly desirable.
  • Proficient in data entry processes with strong understanding of best practice including GDPR, data confidentiality etc
  • You will be an excellent communicator, able to build effective working relationships, and comfortable managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

About the role

We are looking to appoint a full-time Trust and Foundations Fundraising Lead (35 hours per week) to lead and develop Rainbow Trust’s trusts and foundations fundraising programme. You will manage relationships with charitable trusts and foundations, raising the funds we need to deliver and grow our support services.

Our Philanthropy team is an ambitious team with a well-established fundraising programme, playing a significant role in raising £5.7m a year to fund our support services and with plans to grow income over the next 3-5 years. We have an established portfolio of funders, giving low level gifts to six figure donations and you will have the opportunity to work on large applications.

You will cultivate strong working relationships with a portfolio of trust and foundations, including five- and six-figure grants, increasing their engagement and support of the charity, through reports, meetings and phone calls. Through the identification and research of new prospective trust funders, you will find creative ways to engage with them to secure funding. You will also collaborate with internal teams to develop strong cases for support and impact measurement.

· Excellent research and writing skills, preferably with experience of successfully securing four- or five-figure gifts from charitable trusts and foundations

· The ability to work effectively with a range of internal and external people – including trust managers and trustees to build great relationships and influence

· Knowledge of the requirements of trust funders, the principles of application-writing and effective project reporting and of managing a funding portfolio or similar

The Secondary Coordinator is responsible for delivering a consistent and accessible programme for young carers aged 12-16. Based in a specific quadrant of Surrey, the coordinator will plan and lead a repeating schedule of evening youth clubs, weekend socials, and holiday activities which may include residential activities. This role is key to providing regular respite, reducing isolation, and building a strong peer support network for teenage carers.

Person Specification

• Experience working directly with children and young people, particularly those facing challenges or with caring responsibilities.
• Proven track record of building trusted relationships with young people and families from diverse backgrounds.
• Experience of working in or with secondary schools, including understanding school systems and pastoral support structures.
• Experience of multi-agency working, including liaising with education, health, and social care professionals.
• Experience in planning and delivering group activities, workshops, or 1:1 support sessions for young people.
• Understanding of the issues affecting young carers, including the impact of caring responsibilities on education, wellbeing, and social development.
• Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and child protection legislation.
• Awareness of the education system, including pupil premium, attendance, and inclusion policies.
• Understanding of equality, diversity, and inclusion principles, especially in relation to young people and families.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and motivate young people.
• Demonstrate a thorough understanding of health and safety procedures
• Ability to proactively identify and manage risks to ensure a safe environment for all participants
• Strong organisational skills, including the ability to manage a caseload and prioritise competing demands.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
• Confident in using digital tools and systems for record-keeping, communication, and reporting.
• Ability to advocate effectively for young carers within school and community settings.
• A professional qualification in Youth Work or Teaching, or willingness to achieve Level 3 within 12 months
• Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.

YMCA Community Counselling Dialogue offer free short-term face to face, group and online therapy for young people aged 11 - 18 who live or have a GP in West Sussex. We offer a range of talking therapies, group sessions for young people who are struggling with their mental health. We see young people in different locations in the community such as youth centres, children and family centres and our own buildings. Our online counselling takes place over an electronic therapy platform.

We are recruiting for a qualified counsellor to join our team of therapists as a Community Counsellor based in Littlehampton. You will be passionate about making a meaningful difference in the lives of children and young people.

Your contracted base will be our main office in central Hove, and you will deliver services in Littlehampton, West Sussex.

Key responsibilities

• Offer assessments to children and young people within the Tier 2 Counselling Service
• Manage a caseload of children and young people, delivering counselling within the West Sussex Dialogue service model
• Work with the project administrator and project manager to ensure high quality delivery of service
• Work systemically, e.g. liaise with and include parent/carers, educators, health professionals when appropriate and as agreed by the client
• Manage the tight time boundaries of the role and the often complex and varied workload
• To develop and co-facilitate groups for children and young people in the service
• Work at all times within the BACP Ethical Framework for the Counselling Professions and follow YMCA Dialogue safeguarding procedures and policies
• Maintain individual membership of the BACP and to become a Registered Member (or other professional body such as HCPC)

Qualifications, knowledge, and experience

• Experience of working as a Counsellor post-qualified at diploma, graduate or post graduate level or equivalent, including working with risk issues
• You will have a BACP Membership; BACP Registered or Accredited. Or other professional body e.g. HCP
• You will also have a sound understanding of child protection and vulnerable adult safeguarding issues, policies, and procedures
• An in depth understanding of counselling theory and practice and working to short-term models
• You will have proven experience in safeguarding children and young people, responding to, managing, and referring safeguarding issues
• You will be familiar with using creative therapeutic approaches, along with experience of working with children and young people aged 11-18 in community settings

Please note we are also recruiting for a School Counsellor in Bognor Regis, (7.5 hours per week – term-time only / £34,475 per annum, pro rata / permanent / working one day per week 8.30am-4.30pm - working day to be discussed at interview) and there is an opportunity to combine this Community Counsellor role to make a two-day role.
