Your new role
The Corporate Fundraising Manager role is instrumental in driving the charities' mission forward by creating, managing and expanding their portfolio of corporate partnerships. The main responsibility is to produce business proposals using knowledge of fundraising strategies, donor development and grant writing. Other duties include:

• Research, approach and secure new corporate partnerships

Amnesty Tech is a programme in Amnesty International Secretariat (the movement head office) Research and Policy Directorate with a mission to protect and extend human rights in a world of rapid, technological change.

Amnesty Tech is seeking a consultant to specifically work with our Children and Young Peoples' Digital Rights, Health and Well-being (CYD) team. The CYD team work on delivering the RIGHTS Click programme. The overarching vision of this team is of a world where online platforms and other digital technologies are safe, healthy and supportive spaces for children and young people, helping them realize their human rights.

The consultant will work collaborate with Amnesty Tech's Children and Young people's Digital Rights, Health and Well-being (CYD) team. The vision of this team is a world where online platforms and other digital technologies are safe, healthy and supportive spaces for Children and Young people helping them realise their human rights.

PURPOSE   

The consultancy is intended to deliver policy research into the various measures designed to tackle the creation and/or dissemination of child sexual abuse material (CSAM) on the internet that have been proposed in legislation in a number of jurisdictions.

The assignment would include:

-Review of our current policy positions to see how they would inform a position on these approaches to tackling CSAM, including our policy on consensual teen sexual activity, opposition to the weakening or breaking of end-to-end encryption (E2EE), etc.

-Review of proposed strategies for tackling CSAM in key jurisdictions including the EU, UK and USA, as well as any other countries or multi-lateral initiatives (such as the UNODC) proposing measures that will have an impact on human rights and digital rights.

-The human rights implications of these measures, for instance how weakening encryption or client-side scanning poses risks to children's right to privacy, but also all users' right to privacy and also poses risks to the right to freedom of expression and peaceful assembly in repressive contexts.

-The pros and cons of the proposed strategies and whether or not they are consistent with human rights, particularly the rights of the child, and digital rights.

-The research should also consider consensual sharing of sexually explicit images between teenagers who may be affected by any laws or measures to tackle CSAM.

-Look into the positive role education about online safety might play in mitigating some risks and government duties to provide such education to minimise harm to children and balance other rights.

OBJECTIVES AND DELIVERABLES  

The Consultant will deliver:

-An internal policy briefing on the human rights implications of measures to tackle the creation and dissemination of CSAM on the internet.

-The main human rights concerns of each of these measures, for instance the risk to the right to privacy of breaking or weakening E2EE.

-The human rights implications of these measures on consensual teen sexual activity such as sexting or the consensual taking of explicit photos.

-An analysis of the human rights implications of AI-generated CSAM in order to inform Amnesty's position on this.

-An overview of the main measures to tackle CSAM that have been proposed in legislation, for instance client-side scanning of photos on mobile devices or actions that companies have introduced voluntarily such as scanning cloud-based services.

-The pros and cons (and ergo the proportionality and necessity) of each of these measures in terms of their ability to tackle CSAM versus the impacts they have on other rights or the limitations to their effectiveness in tackling CSAM.

-What role can education play in mitigating these online harms related to CSAM?

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS  

-Knowledge of international human rights law and the human rights framework as it relates to children's rights.

-Experience of working on the issues connected to children's rights in the digital environment.

-Understanding of key human rights issues (such as the right to privacy) related to the digital technologies such as end to end encryption.

Attraction of Volunteers

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Partnering

· Develop a thorough understanding of the Foundation and the business area where you are providing support in order to provide a full people partnering service.

· Translate People strategy and agreed deliverables for your designated business areas into achievable plans and a prioritised implementation map.

· Establish effective relationships with business leads to enable you to provide valued interventions and insights on people management strategies.

The Director of International Fundraising and Marketing will Serve as an integral member of Soi Dog’s Senior Leadership Team, actively participating in leadership duties, and contributing to the charity’s strategic and budget planning. Reporting directly to the International Chief Executive, the successful candidate will lead the International Fundraising and Marketing teams, ensuring they meet targets and objectives.

You will lead the creation, implementation, and management of International Fundraising, Marketing, and Communications, including active day-to-day involvement in all activity. To be successful in this role, you will be able to demonstrate your experience in income generation roles, developing and implementing fundraising strategies across various income streams with substantial digital focus. You will be a strong fundraiser who will manage multi-million-dollar income and expenditure budgets and will be dedicated to an exciting next step in your career.

In this role, you will support the development and implementation of Picker's policy influencing strategy to make person centred health and social care a reality for everyone. You will be responsible for monitoring policy and political developments, promoting evidence-based policies to advanced person centred care and building and maintaining relationships within the health policy world. You will leave on the development of policy outputs including briefings, position statements and white papers, working with colleagues to build evidence and articulate Picker's messages.

This role

In this role, you will:

• Develop and maintain a good understanding of key health and social care policy and political developments
• Lead on or assist with a range of high-profile policy projects, including the planning and development of projects, and contributing to analysis, writing and publication.
• Identifying opportunities to contribute to public policy debates in health and social care, using evidence from Picker’s work and from the public domain to provide insightful thought leadership.
• Work collaboratively with colleagues to support policy analysis, responsive policy work, and to enhance Picker’s external profile across various audiences.
• Lead on and assist with written outputs, such as topic-specific briefing papers, website copy, presentations and blog posts to communicate the findings of our work.
• Carry out literature reviews and rapid scans of data and evidence to scope public policy positions on a range of key issues.
• Present evidence and findings (both in writing and orally) about highly complex and sometimes contentious subjects to a wide range of audiences, ensuring an understanding of the subject and issues arising and enabling informed decision making
• Support the drafting of responses to consultations, policy briefings, and other public policy initiatives, including relevant third party publications.
• Build and maintain relationships with external stakeholders, partners, and collaborators relevant to our policy portfolio, including academic and health and social care policy communities.
• Work collaboratively with other teams, creating strong links between other programmes and projects, to promote the use of services, products and survey findings that improve the quality of healthcare.

About You

You will have:

• Understanding of health and social care policy and related public policy developments in the UK
• Understanding of how policy decisions are influenced and made
• Knowledge and experience of research and analysis relevant to health policy. This might include synthesising different kinds of evidence, carrying out interviews, or analysing data
• Familiarity with and understanding of the core principles of both quantitative and qualitative research including strengths and limitations of different approaches and their use in different contexts
