Job Summary

We are looking for an Arts Sector Employment Coach will support young adults with SEND to apply for jobs within the Arts sector and coach them through the recruitment and induction process.

The role incorporates:

· Working with the Arts organisations in making their recruitment processes more accessible to candidates with disabilities

· Providing job coaching support to induct the new employee into their role.

· Spreading awareness of the scheme and its impact with the aim of encouraging arts sector organisations to hire young adults with SEND is an integral part of the role.

INTRODUCTION TO THE ROLE

Girls Not Brides is the only global organisation uniquely focused on creating and sustaining a worldwide movement to end child marriage and ensuring that this movement leads to tangible change for the girls at risk or affected by the practice. We are a network of over 1,400 civil society organisations in over 100 countries working in partnership to end child marriage. Our vision is a world without child marriage where girls and women enjoy equal status with boys and men and are able to achieve their full potential in all aspects of their lives. Our vision challenges deeply embedded social norms that harm the lives of girls, women and their communities.

The Director of External Engagement at Girls Not Brides devises and oversees implementation of fundraising, communications, advocacy & campaigns strategy to help realise Girls Not Brides’ vision of a world free of child marriage, where girls and women enjoy equal status to boys and men and can fulfil their potential in every aspect of their lives. Uses leadership skills and extensive experience of global and local fundraising, communications, campaigns and advocacy to support the organisation’s strategic objectives - movement building, influencing and learning - to empower others, opening spaces for voices to be raised, and drive transformational change. Works as part of a globally-dispersed and diverse team, and closely with members, National Partnerships and coalitions. Contributes to the organisational strategy as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE ROLE

Strategic planning and organisational leadership

• Lead the implementation of the Secretariat’s communications, advocacy and fundraising  strategies which deliver on the vision, mission and goals set out in the Secretariat and Partnership strategies, 2022-25.
• Set out how the team will use creative campaigning tactics, targeted policy and advocacy,impactful communications and fundraisning  to help build the movement to end child marriage, influence those with power to make change, and share evidence and learning.
• Contribute to broad organisational leadership and strategic development, as a member of the Senior Leadership Team.
• Lead the communications, advocacy and fundraising teams, with up to five direct line reports, plus dotted line responsibilities.
• Responsible for planning and monitoring the directorate’s budget 
• Advise and inform the CEO, Board and other key stakeholders around key communications, advocacy and campaigns moments.

Empowered communications

• Support the globally-dispersed Girls Not Brides communications team to work with members to find and tell stories of girls’ lives and of the latest evidence and learning that exemplify the realities of child marriage and the solutions; demonstrate that change is needed, and change is happening.
• Work with the Communications team to leverage a wide range of communications channels, including media, website, social media, and events to convey the key messages and findings from Girls Not Brides’ work in a way that enables those without power to be heard, and convinces those with power to support positive change for girls. 
• Oversee and explore ways of landing Girls Not Brides stories and policy and campaign asks at the local, national, regional and international level in a way that is context specific and impactful. Be creative and unconventional in your use of content and tactics to reach, engage and influence target audiences.
• Lead the communications team in inspiring audiences to support and join the movement to end child marriage and Girls Not Brides, through documenting and showcasing the results of collective action and developing compelling calls to collective action.
• Oversee the work of the communications team to hone and harness the potential of the Girls Not Brides brand, history, and global network to inspire change and increase member engagement.

Effective advocacy

• Oversee and facilitate direct and indirect engagements with policymakers and decision makers at the local, national, regional and global level, as well as those who influence and advise to take action to end child marriage.
• Lead on ensuring strong synergies between advocacy at national, regional and global levels, coordinatoring between advocacy team members in the regions and the global advocacy team.
• Lead global stakeholder engagement including working with relevant UN organisations, sector leaders, and thematic international organisations to ensure that child marriage is reflected in their policies, budgets and programming.  
• Lead Girls Not Brides sector integration agenda, maintain strong existing partnerships, and identify new allies to enhance broader sector integration of ending child marriage.
• Support colleagues, National Partnerships and members to develop and use advocacy skills, and monitor, analyse, influence and respond to relevant legislative and policy opportunities at the global, regional and national level.
• Oversee production and dissemination of policy and advocacy content including fact sheets, policy briefs, updates, and position statements. 
• Oversee trainings and development programmes for the secretariat and global partnership, including webinars and learning series.

Transformational campaigns

• Grow and strengthen the movement, harness its potential, ensure Girls Not Brides connects, empowers and amplifies diverse groups around the world united behind a shared cause.
• Oversee Girls Not Brides’ work with local groups, activists, girls and their families to use campaigning and engagement to shift socio-cultural attitudes, including among elders and community leaders, about how girls can and should expect to be treated, respected and empowered.
• Work with the Adovocay team  to identify and plan for at least four big moments in the year, either at the global, regional or national level where members of the wider movement can come together to collaborate for change, engage young activists, and support and learn from each other.
• Work closely with the Development and Outreach team to support and deploy champions, ambassadors, youth leaders and high-profile influencers to advance the cause of ending child marriage.

Impactful fundraising

• Direct and lead the implementation of Girls Not Brides’ global and regional fundraising strategy for the secretariat and the wider movement, to ensure a diverse and sustainable income portfolio.
• Lead the creation and diversification of a business development plan, targeting new actors such as businesses, high-net-worth individuals, legacies, etc.
• Lead the cultivation and strengthening of donor relationships, alongside the CEO, to bring in new funding and grant renewals, build donors as champions. 
• Oversee and ensure long term projection for income, also overseeing pipeline and prospecting and directing the development of concept notes and proposals.
• Oversee the development of a case for support, multi-year funding opportunities.
• Make recommendations to the CEO in relation to funding decisions, and sign off documents for donors in line with delegated responsibilities.
• Close liaison with CEO, Director of Operations and Finance to help develop annual budgets, targets and a sustainable growth model.
• Direct the development of donor communications and assets, including but not limited to annual reports and promotional materials. 
• Assume responsibility for quality assurance on donor communications and collaborations.
• Contribute to the finance team’s work on contracting and compliance.

Influential outreach and visibility

• Lead the development of a strategic approach to building the secretariat’s visibility, partnerships and profile.
• Oversee the identification of strategic opportunities (including trips, events and media appearances) to profile the voices of Girls Not Brides’ internal leaders and external stakeholders to advocate on ending child marriage.
• Oversee the planning and convening of Girls Not Brides’ events and meetings calendar, as well as the high-profile visits to high prevalence and donor countries by the CEO, Champions, and Trustees.
• Alongside the CEO, lead and deepen the partnerships with the Girls First Fund and VOW for Girls at the global level.
• Oversee and lead the development and outreach team’s work to support and deploy champions, advisors, ambassadors, youth leaders and high-profile influencers to advance the cause of ending child marriage across sectors (including politics, business, grassroots activists and NGOs).
• Represent Girls Not Brides externally and further cultivate Girls Not Brides’ network of funders, supporters, Champions and Advisors.

PERSON SPECIFICATION

Essential experience

• Significant professional experience in a comparable role at a senior level in the not-for-profit sector, international/intergovernmental organisation or social enterprise.
• Degree-level qualification in a relevant area such as public policy, development studies, international relations, communications, human rights or gender issues or proven experience in a related field plus extensive relevant professional training.
• Proven experience of working with coalitions and the ability to inform international policy discussions with the realities of grass-roots work.
• A proven track record of successfully developing and implementing a fundraising strategy and raising significant levels of funding for an organisation.
• Broad experience in communications, development and outreach work, building and nurturing strong working relationships with a range of strategic partners.
• Experience of partnership building with stakeholders such as government ministries, NGOs, foundations, grass-roots groups, and champions of social change.
• Proven experience of working with coalitions and the ability to inform international communications with the realities of grass-roots work.
• Experience of successfully managing teams, including geographically dispersed staff. 

Essential skills and knowledge

• Advanced and demonstrable understanding of strategic planning, resource mobilisation and communications.
• Demonstrated ability and understanding of how to deliver effective advocacy and/or communications and/or fundraising, development and outreach strategies on global social issues that align with and further an organisation’s strategic goals.

This role is based at our centre a short walk from Clapham Common tube station, in London. We support homeless people from the local area and further afield. Our services are open access, so the people who come to the Ace of Clubs are diverse and from multiple walks of life. Consequently their needs can be complex, so we are looking for a skilled communicator who can support people, many of who live chaotic lifestyles. Our purpose at the Ace of Clubs is to address people’s basic human needs by providing food, clothing, toiletries, and practical support. We help people link up with housing, healthcare, education, and employment. Our Support Workers work to help individuals overcome barriers to achieving wellbeing, whether it be through guidance in the support system, learning new skills or supporting service users to build the confidence and skills to enable them to navigate their life challenges and advocate for themselves. The ultimate aim of our work is to reduce people’s dependence on our service, helping them move toward independence.

KEY DUTIES

• To participate in the provision of advice and advocacy for service users addressing their needs in the following areas; Housing; Welfare; Health; Education; Employment, (this list is not exhaustive);
• Refer to and liaise with partners and agencies within the statutory and voluntary sector to secure positive outcomes for Centre Users, e.g. referring and signposting guests to accommodation providers, health services and other relevant internal and external support services, as necessary.
• Work in a manner which honours our organisational values and is responsive to the trauma and experiences of homelessness and vulnerable adults.
• Maintain essential records accurately on Charity Log, (ensuring high quality case recordings).
• Ensuring the Centre Manager is kept informed of all safeguarding and risk concerns.
• Employing creative thinking and practices to ensure that guests are supported and motivated to achieve their goals.

The post holder will be responsible for their own caseload. This post will involve the assessment and appropriate treatment of people presenting with mental health problems, working within NHS Talking Therapies. The post holder will be expected to attend regular supervision and may have additional areas of responsibility for clinical service development as required.
The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and work in various community settings (including GP surgeries) and psychological treatment centres.

Key responsibilities:

Clinical

1. Accept referrals via agreed protocols within the service.

2. Conduct assessments and therapy over the telephone, telemedicine and face to face.

3. Offer High Intensity treatment in individual and group settings (as agreed)

4. Make decisions on suitability of new referrals, adhering to the department’s referral protocols, and refer unsuitable clients on to the relevant service or back to the referral agent as necessary.

5. Formulate, implement and evaluate therapy programmes for people attending the service.

6. Educate and involve family members and others in treatment as necessary, conveying formulations with sensitivity in easily understood language.

7. Take responsibility for promoting access to the services provided and the delivery of cognitive behavioural therapies in the peripheral settings where the therapist works. For example, therapists working within GP Surgeries will be expected to attend GP Practice meetings and develop and maintain professional relationships with members of the primary care team. They will be expected to promote the service by ensuring that there are readily available promotional material for both members of the public and members of the primary care team.

8. Liaise with other psychological therapy services in order to work jointly to improve provision of psychological services to local residents.

9. Plan appropriate packages of care for each service user. Liaise as appropriate with other professionals within the service and externally to effectively communicate your assessment and facilitate transfer of care to an appropriate professional.

10. Conduct risk assessments, prepare risk management plans and initiate appropriate action where indicated (including referrals to relevant secondary care services and child and adult safeguarding services)

11. Elicit outcome data from people using services and their carers. Use the TALKING THERAPIES IAPTUS system to record clinical contact details, clinical records, outcome data, and passage though the care pathway.

12. Ensure that people under your care are cared for appropriately under the stepped care framework as currently in use within the service.

13. Adhere to the operations manual and other relevant protocols and procedures as directed by your line manager.

14. Take personal (unprompted) responsibility for achieving agreed clinical activity relating to the number of therapy contact hours per week.

15. Actively contribute to and support the integration of clinical governance in the service within your own area of work and contribute to service clinical governance process in a specific area of work under the direction and supervision of a Senior Therapist.

16. Develop an area of enhanced (specialist) clinical work (e.g. PTSD, OCD, Long Term Health Conditions, Perinatal, Eating Disorders, Social phobia etc). It is expected that the areas of specialist work will shift in focus over time to reflect service need and your need to continuing professional development.

17. Carry out clinical audits of aspects of the CBT service as directed, including feedback from people who have used the service, analyse and feedback to the service verbally and in writing.

Training and Supervision

18. Attend clinical supervision in group or individual format within service.

19. Participate in peer supervision with professional colleagues.

20. Develop and engage in your own CPD, including active engagement in and use of clinical supervision of your own therapy.

21. Attend and fulfil all the requirements of the TALKING THERAPIES approved training/ workshops in line with identified professional objectives.

22. Support peer learning through attending and contributing to journal clubs and other in-house service CPD events

23. Once suitable supervision training and experience has been gained, supervise other staff as directed

Professional

24. Ensure that client confidentiality is protected at all times.

25. Co-ordinate and liaise between different staff groups within Mind in Bexley.

26. Support the CBT Service Public & Professional Educational functions by contributing to professional education program under the supervision of senior members of the department.

27. Support the CBT Service Public & Professional Educational functions by delivering interactive psycho-education within a CBT framework to large groups of Service Users under the supervision of senior members of the department.

28. Exercise personal responsibility for the systematic clinical governance of your own professional practice.

29. Proactively take responsibility for attending supervision, case management and line management regularly, participate in objective setting, performance reviews and respond to agreed objectives.

30. Be aware of and comply with company policies, procedures and standards of service

31. Promote and contribute to the development and maintenance of a healthy therapeutic culture within the team and amongst colleagues across the service and Service Users.

You may be required to cover an evening shift from 12pm - 8pm with occasional Saturday working to meet the needs of our clients.

Our Sport Team has an exciting opportunity for you to join them, working in Camden and across London to engage those experiencing homelessness into physical activity and improving their quality of life. 

About the role: 

As a Sport Coordinator, you'll be responsible for planning and delivering varied activity sessions for both adults and young people across different services, both internally and externally. You will work closely with the Sport Manager to effectively coordinate support from freelancers and volunteers. Your role will extend to broadening the accessibility of sports and exercise within SHP's services and among its residents, for both adults and the young people we support. Additionally, you'll play a key part in growing the programmes reach, forging partnerships with similar organisations and charities, while also advocating for the significance of physical activity within the homeless community. 

The approach taken with clients will be psychologically informed, incorporating an understanding of Personality disorder, complex trauma and addiction. The outcomes for your role include developing positive and sustained relationships of trust with clients supporting them to engage in regular physical activity, and see an improvement in their overall health. 

About you:

• Demonstrable knowledge of fitness and sporting activities, application and implementation 
• Sports and coaching qualifications relevant tot he sector. 
• Demonstrable knowledge of motivating and supporting vulnerable adults and young people into sport and exercise. 
• Ability to develop and deliver structured group-based physical activity sessions with both adults and young people. 
• Ability to advocate for the importance of physical activity within our services.

Based at the 999 club in Deptford, a safe and welcoming space for those experiencing homelessness Move+ is the latest of the 999 club’s service offerings which also include a drop-in day centre, employment & training support, advocacy & advice, a women’s space and the Bridge, our evening service for people in mental health crisis.

This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a cutting-edge service within the sector. The overall aim of Move+ is to enable people who have been homeless to draw upon their shared experiences and support one another to escape homelessness for good. Move+ empowers people to live independently, to set up and maintain a stable home, while working towards long-term goals and aspirations enabling them to move forwards with their lives. This is achieved through a combination of peer coaching, personalised support and an exclusive program of workshops and activities.

Working closely with the Coproduction Manager as part of the Specialist Services team, you will oversee all aspects of the day-to-day delivery of Move+. This includes line management of a team of Peer Coaches, focusing on support, personal and professional development. You will conduct assessments and manage referrals, build and maintain relationships, as well as promote the service, both internally and externally. Overall, you’ll ensure a high quality of service delivery that meets or exceeds targets and, most importantly, supports and empowers all participants.

PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

To work alongside the FASD Services Manager, FASD Lead Advisor and FASD Advisors in the delivery of the FASD Hub services including developing/delivering FASD training; providing direct support to families, providing line management supervision to volunteers and taking a lead role in facilitating community support services including peer support groups, Advice Line and the establishment of community support groups

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

·The post holder will take a lead role and play an active part in the service’s peer support activities including online peer support groups/forums, virtual community groups and the establishment of a network of local community support groups.

·Lead delivery of FASD training workshops, seminars, webinars, events, commissioned training, and bespoke sessions for parents/carers, professionals, and stakeholders. The delivery of training may be online or in person and may require travel throughout Scotland.

·Responsible for supporting FASD Hub service users through direct one-to-one support to parents/carers.

·Provide support and supervision to FASD Hub volunteers.

·The post holder will take a significant role in the design and development of training materials and resources, including updating and refreshing in line with new FASD developments and research which impact upon the FASD community.

·Support the wider work of Adoption UK to deliver training on FASD to members, staff, and stakeholders, for example as part of Kinship Care Week, Adoption Week Scotland, The Promise etc.On occasions these maybe outside Scotland.

·Provide support and guidance to the FASD Helpline Advisor and follow up targeted enhanced advice in response to helpline enquires. 

·Provide cover and answer incoming enquiries to the FASD Hub Helpline, (telephone, email, and online platforms), along with occasionally providing cover to other Adoption UK Helpline services. 

·Working alongside other team members, the post holder will have input into the development, designing and planning of content for FASD Hub social media accounts, to ensure content is factually correct and the messaging reflects that of the FASD Hub service and FASD community. 

·Attend relevant national meetings, conferences, training events, networking, and development opportunities to promote the FASD Hub services and/or delivering FASD training.

·Support the FASD Services Manager and FASD Lead Advisor with delivery of the project and collaboratively work with all FASD Hub colleagues to ensure the success and growth of the project, and where required cover for other team member absence.

Key Responsibilities

Partnership liaison and relationship management

• Establish the primary local referral agencies and build and implement a strategy for developing relationships with them to ensure recruitment of young people onto the Spear programme is effective
• Maintain and develop relationships with local partners to form a strong referral network.

Oversight of Spear Programme

• As a confident communicator, you will lead group sessions of around 10 young people each, using coaching skills to transform attitudes to their own ability and the workplace, and to raise their awareness and maximise potential in stepping into the world of work
• Prepare and coach group and 1-1 sessions with the Spear Coach
• Ensure the programme is delivered in line with agreed targets, and report KPIs on recruitment, retention and completion of Spear Trainees to Resurgo and the Spear Trust, as well as their ongoing progress and sustainment of work or education.

Line Management and training

• Manage the Spear Coach, using a coaching approach to invest in their growth and development
• Be line managed by Resurgo to support with the set-up and ongoing operations of the centre and report back on KPIs.

Church Community

• The Spear Centre Manager is directly employed by Alive Church, meaning you are part of a vibrant church staff team and submerged in an exciting faith community
• You will be required to establish strong relationships with key people at the church to ensure the engagement and backing of church members and help the Spear Coach to establish a strong presence at the church to build a network of supporters for the Spear programme
• Ensure the Spear programme is a key missional feature of the work of the church; this may involve attending church events and speaking at services.

Site management and set-up

• Work with the Church to set up the training room and IT infrastructure for the new Spear Centre in advance of opening
• Liaise with relevant staff locally on-site issues and work to resolve them as soon as possible, ensuring the office and training room are safe and tidy working spaces in line with health and safety policies.

As a Recovery service facilitator, you’ll be a key point of contact within the Recovery service.
Your responsibilities will focus around designing, delivering, evaluating, reporting and the continuous development of structured learning programmes for people with mental ill health. You will help shape the ongoing vision and goals of the Recovery College to ensure that future development of the service meets the needs of the people it supports. Programme Overview

The Refugee Employability Programme is a new initiative that offers enhanced support to defined cohorts of legally recognised refugees in the UK. Starting in September 2023, the programme will provide tailored support for each participant focussed on gaining sustainable employment. Palladium will work with employers, local government, and other community partners to ensure that individuals are fully supported with their journey back to employment and integration into UK society. The programme includes delivery of employability- focussed English to Speakers of Other Languages (ESOL) tuition for some of the defined cohorts.

Primary Duties and responsibilities:

As Case Manager, you will be responsible for delivering the front-line support to customers on the Home Office Refugee Employability Programme, ensuring that they receive excellent service which is compliant with all Home Office requirements.

Your responsibilities will include:

· Take responsibility for engaging with potential customers, explaining eligibility and bringing in referrals to the programme as part of a coordinated team approach.

· Be accountable for your caseload of assigned customers and working with them to address their learning, integration and employment needs in line with both contractual requirements and the individual’s needs. This will include:   

o Building rapport and a positive working relationship with each customer.

o Assessing the customer’s starting position to decide how to best meet their needs. 

o Creating and following through with individual Personal Development Plans, ensuring appropriate and effective activity is undertaken by each customer.

o Providing challenge, advice, and guidance where appropriate, to develop customers’ capability in the recruitment process ensuring they have the necessary skills and confidence to secure employment.

· Develop an understanding of specialist signposting services in the local area/region, so that you are able to source and refer customers to additional support when needed;

About the Service

This is a pilot working as a Multi-Disciplinary Team (MDT) with housing teams and Drug and Alcohol Services across District and Borough councils. These teams will be working with individuals who are presenting as homeless and have a number of Complex Needs.

Purpose of Post

Providing advice, information, onward referral and holistic support to clients who are experiencing mental ill health or need support with their mental wellbeing. These will be clients who are presenting to District and Borough councils as homeless and need intervention and support with their mental health and remain a source of independent support for all clients. Ensure that the safety and wellbeing of the client is monitored and reviewed regularly and that a person centred recovery orientated and trauma informed approach is embedded approach in all aspects of the roles.

Service Objectives

• To improve the mental wellbeing of people experiencing mental ill health.
• To increase early access to help for people experiencing mental ill health in, by providing a clear and effective pathway to services provided by Herts Mind Network and other third sector and statutory providers.
• To contribute to an improvement in individual mental wellbeing.
• To remain a source of independent support for all clients.
• To reduce the use of police, ASB, tenancy enforcement, housing needs and environmental health services by clients whose primary need is related to mental ill health.
• To reduce the use of crisis services by people experiencing mental ill health without positive outcomes for the individual.
• To provide an assertive outreach approach for clients who are in crisis and/ or those that may have complex or multiple needs.
• To work collaboratively within an MDT consisting of CGL, District and Borough councils, housing teams and other professionals.
