SCHOOLS BASED ACROSS BURNLEY & SALFORD
We require a Social Worker to provide high quality social work in our schools across the Diocese of Salford according to each school’s formal agreement.
You will work directly with children and young people, their parents, carers and schools in order to further the child’s welfare and provide the interventions necessary to enable them to use their learning opportunities to the full. You must be able to provide a non-judgemental, caring and confidential environment throughout this work to ensure the issues are addressed in an appropriate manner for all those involved.
To apply you will have experience of working with children and families and experience of direct work with children which includes supporting school staff with safeguarding. You must have competent IT skills which includes providing regular reports to the individual schools and Caritas and feedback to school staff as required. You must be able to maintain appropriate resources, databases and case files as well as maintain efficient and comprehensive referral and recording systems.
Registered social worker status with Social Work England (SWE) is essential and the salary includes accrued annual leave.
This role is due to commence in September 2024.

About the role:
This role is based in Rochdale Police station along with some hybrid working, you must be prepared to deliver and facilitate recognised support and behaviour change programmes to perpetrators of domestic abuse (DA) and those at risk of becoming perpetrators. As a Domestic Abuse Prevention Worker you will:
- Plan, prepare and effectively facilitate the delivery of group work programmes to perpetrators of DA
- Maintain a proactive response to service users, continuously providing positive options for behaviour change
- Encourage service users to address their abusive behaviour & understand that they are accountable for abusive behaviour
- Develop & maintain effective working relationships with both internal & external partners
You will need:
- An understanding of domestic abuse & stalking & it's impact
- Commitment to perpetrator behaviour change
- Empathy & ability to support service users thorugh advisory, negotiation & persuasive skills
- Experience of working directly with perpetrators of domestic abuse
- Knowledge of effective ways of working/engaging with perpetrators of domestic abuse
- Good interpersonal skills, able to network & develop strong working relationships with other agencies
- A background in Probation, Homelessness or the Police would be advantageous

About the role
As an Engagement and Assessment Worker, you will be the first point of contact for someone who comes to Crisis for help to prevent or end their homelessness. You will:
- welcome them to the service on site and at partner agencies,
- listen carefully and non-judgementally to their story,
- complete sensitively thorough Crisis and Mainstay assessments,
- Agree realistic options and the support needed to assist them to prevent their homelessness or a pathway out of homelessness
- Help them formulate a holistic plan and help them take the initial steps, where necessary.
- Hold a caseload of members who require short term intervention to end their homelessness.
About you
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Experience of working successfully with disadvantaged/or socially excluded groups and individuals, utilising a psychologically informed approach.
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service, ensuring accessible, welcoming and safe ‘front of house’ environment in a busy service.
- Experience of assessing presenting needs, and an understanding of strengths-based assessments. Empathy and understanding of the barriers to accessing services.

About the role
This tole is based in Cumbria. Turning the Spotlight is a busy service supporting families experiencing domestic abuse including perpetrators. You will manage case workers and facilitators in our dedicated healthy relationships programme.

Using a gender and trauma-informed approach, the Outreach & Engagement Worker will deliver 2-4 daytime outreach sessions per week in Manchester alongside partners, colleagues and volunteers. They will also attend the Street Engagement Hub weekly to provide specialist support to women attending this multi-agency hub. They will provide brief interventions and casework support to women supporting their needs holistically.
You will work with other members of the MASH team to achieve the following outcomes:

About the role:
This role is based at Accrington. Once your probation period is completed you will be eligible to apply for hybrid working. As a Domestic Abuse Caseworker, you will be:
- Focusing on victims of domestic abuse, providing a pro-active, short to medium term crisis intervention service

About the Role:
As a Group Work Practitioner, you will be delivering a range of group work courses and programmes to adults affected by crime in the Thames Valley. We are seeking a confident and experienced Modern Slavery Case Worker Assistant with a wide range of skills and importantly, a ‘can do’ approach. As a Modern Slavery Case Worker Assistant, you will provide high quality practical and emotional support to potential victims of modern slavery within a safehouse setting.
You will work as a member of the team providing a safe temporary environment for vulnerable adults who have experienced trauma and exploitation. The role will involve assisting service users with increasing practical skills and self-confidence to empower and enable independent and safe living.
This service is open 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Applicants must be willing to work flexibly, which will include on call duties, evenings, weekends and bank. Both roles will work between two properties approx. 4 miles apart on a Rota basis. A full induction and continuous training will be given.
The 30 hour per week post will be shifts from 4pm-10pm, 5 days per week, however, the initial induction will consist of day shifts until knowledge of safe house is comprehensive.
You must have experience of working with vulnerable adults, the ability to work within a ‘risk associated’ environment and ideally experience of working within a residential or community setting with non-UK citizens. Relevant social care qualifications or suitable experience of supporting vulnerable people is essential.
