The job holder will provide outreach & support sessions, deliver groups and events for carers and other relevant partners across Salford. Creating exciting new opportunities for carers through networking and building partnerships.

The role will focus on the outreach provision, being based in different locations across Salford including hospitals, community venues, mental health settings and others accessed by people with caring responsibilities. The role will include supporting the continued development of the service, assisting with the creation of resources and training. The role will also support our involvement offer; ensuring carers are at the forefront of service change and service delivery.

Our location

We are based in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, so we are easily accessible by road and rail. But one thing we have learned from the pandemic, is that we are able to work very effectively from home. The Bexley Solace Advocacy and Support Service (SASS) is a team made up of specialist IDVAs. We work with all levels of risk and work closely with our partner agencies to ensure victims/survivors of domestic abuse receive a good standard of service.

About the Role

The Duty Worker acts as the first point of contact for service users and professionals accessing the Bexley SASS service. As the Duty Worker you will be responsible for processing new referrals, undertaking assessments with survivors of abuse and providing ongoing support to a small caseload of standard to medium risk survivors.

About You

The ideal candidate would have demonstrable experience of working with those affected by domestic and/or sexual violence and experience of managing risk and following case management procedures to meet the needs of a diverse and vulnerable client group.

You will have some knowledge of housing, welfare and policy relating to domestic/sexual violence, as well as excellent administrative and time management skills; including multi-tasking and using excel.

You will also have the ability to effectively manage a caseload.

You will have a good understanding of the causes and dynamics of domestic and sexual abuse, including its impact on victims/survivors,. A flexible approach to your work and a commitment to the values of Solace Women’s Aid is essential.

What we offer:

This is a fixed-term contract, initially for 18 months.  The role is a part-time position, working 3 days / 22.5 hours per week.
You will receive a salary of £27,810 (based on a 22.5 hour week, which is a full-time equivalent salary of £46,350) and benefits including a generous 10% contributory pension scheme, Cycle to Work scheme, 38 days annual leave inclusive of bank holidays (pro rata) and our new bespoke Employee Support and Wellbeing Programme.

We’ve made substantial progress as we implement our new strategy, with improvements and expansions to our delivery model and a renewed vision and mission. To support our recent growth, we are recruiting for a new part time Finance Officer to help us effectively manage our day-to-day financial processes and provide financial and administrative support to our growing team of staff and volunteers.

Working closely with colleagues across the charity, your responsibilities will include the processing of purchase invoices and expenses, raising of contract invoices, assisting with budgets and forecasts and supporting our Income Generation team with their finance needs. You will also have the opportunity to contribute to various finance projects and strategic initiatives.

It is essential that you have strong organisational skills, excellent attention to detail, good communication abilities, and a proactive attitude towards assisting with diverse finance tasks. Ideally you will possess a formal accounting qualification (AAT or equivalent) or be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of basic accounting and bookkeeping. Underpinning this will be the ability to build relationships, and personal qualities that include persistence, determination and a problem-solving approach. Social Prescribing Advice Link Worker

Location: Bromley by Bow and GP practices across the Primary Care Network
Job Type: Part time, 28 hours per week (4 days a week)

Our client is working with the Primary Care Network (PCN), Bromley by Bow Health & Stepney Health CIC, to improve access to social welfare advice and help meet the needs of some of the most vulnerable patients and families locally.

The role will provide social welfare advice to people referred into the Centre’s Social Prescribing service. The role will focus on what matters to the individual and take a holistic approach, providing welfare benefits, housing, debt, food and energy advice.

The Social Prescribing Advice Link Worker will refer to agencies at a specialist level including immigration, legal advice and debt as well as support individuals to access a range of services and activities in their local communities.

The role will build collaborative relationships with GP practice staff, including the delivery of social welfare advice training to enable them to identify and connect people experiencing hardship with the support they need to improve their circumstances and prevent problems developing into issues of hardship and crisis.

The role will help shape the Centre’s Social Prescribing service so that it reflects the changing environment and helps reduce health inequalities locally.

• Identify, cultivate, and secure new corporate partnerships at five and six figure level

• Be a senior brand ambassador for the charity, engaging and developing effective relationships with a wide range of stakeholders, both internally and externally
• Build a robust pipeline of partnerships opportunities

Ideal skills and experience: 

• Experience of working in a corporate partnerships/corporate social responsibility/marketing/sales environment
• Ability to win and deliver major charity & corporate partnerships (£50-100k+)
• Experience of writing compelling copy, pitches and campaigns to secure new partnerships
