The Role

This is a work from home post and can be based remotely anywhere within the UK. There will be the need to travel to meetings in London occasionally and travel to our services across England and Scotland on an ad hoc basis.

As the newly appointed Business Development Finance Partner, you will work closely with the Head of Business Development and Director in identifying and evaluating new opportunities as well as working across the Organisation to support ongoing contract management and financial business management activities.

You will support our operational leadership across the UK to evaluate, monitor and review the financial aspects of new business opportunities, leading on financial elements of tenders and grants as well as contract management and risk appraisal processes.

The position provides an ideal opportunity for individuals with a strong finance background (qualified or part-qualified accountants) to develop and enhance their careers through transitioning into a business management role.

This role will be key to support the development and delivery of challenge prizes across a broad range of social and technology themes including: disruptive tech, environment, international development, global health and government innovation.

Job purpose

We are looking for a Programme Coordinator to support all aspects in the delivery of Challenge Works programmes. An enthusiastic team player with a knack for problem solving. Someone who is able to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, moving effortlessly from day-to-day management to supporting the team on planning and strategy. The ideal candidate will have some programme assistant experience, including experience of developing, maintaining and revising systems, budget and financial monitoring, relationship management, communications and management of social media channels.

The Role

Programme Coordination

• Work closely with Programme Managers to enable smooth day-to-day programme execution.
• Monitoring of milestones, evaluation and finance to keep check of project budgets and deadlines. Flagging action points to the Programme Manager when necessary.
• Develop, maintain and revise (as necessary) systems that will underpin the delivery of the prizes.
• Carry out procurement activities end-to-end, including development of contracts, legal documents and CRM
• Development of key documents relating to the delivery of the prizes.
• Manage internal and external meetings, including developing agendas and writing minutes.

Stakeholder Management & Teamwork

• Work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of the prizes.
• Day-to-day management of external relationships, from stakeholder networks to high-profile individuals and prize entrants.

Communications & Events

• Help support communications activities of various challenge prizes, for example, managing monthly newsletters, social media and updating websites.
• Help create opportunities for public engagement activities.

• Take on ad-hoc projects and tasks to support the team and its prizes as necessary.

Job Description

Job Title:  Training Lead: Parents and Volunteers

Hours:         2.5 days a week 

Salary:    £32,000 for Cardiff Based/£34,000 for London Based

Reports to:     Head of Services

We are seeking a motivated, compassionate and engaging training lead for our parent and volunteer training programs. The training lead for parents and volunteers will lead on the design, development and delivery of a program of training support for parents impacted by Child Sexual Abuse and will support with the delivery of the training for new We Stand volunteers.

Role Description 

To plan, develop and deliver parent training and workshops for protective parents and carers whose

children have been sexually abused; to support parents and carers to understand and process the impacts of child sexual abuse and learn strategies for supporting their children after abuse together with those who share similar experiences. To work collaboratively with We Stand colleagues, to provide support that is accessible, appropriate, timely and tailored to suit the needs of individual clients.

To contribute to the recruitment and selection of We Stand volunteers including student therapists on placement and helpline volunteers. To lead on the delivery of induction and training for all new volunteers and ensure that they are adequately prepared and supported to begin their placement with We Stand.

Parent Training: 

Parent training and workshops are designed to support parents following a disclosure of CSA. The training focuses on providing parents and carers with the useful information and strategies they need to manage and support their child or young person’s journey of recovery. Via 1:1 or group sessions, parents gain the knowledge they need to help them support their child and regain confidence in themselves.

Key Responsibilities

Design and development of content 

• Setting up an annual program of training and workshop delivery for parents and carers

• Ongoing review and development of content to ensure the program is up to date and tailored to the needs of clients

Managing referrals and Assessment of clients 

• Working collaboratively with We Stand colleagues to promote training and workshops to relevant parents and carers

• Managing referrals to training and workshops and assessing the suitability of clients for the program

• Be a point of contact for parents and carers on the waiting list for training and workshops

Delivery of group and individual training 

• Deliver We Stand’s 4-week training programme for parents and carers

• Be a point of contact and support for parents during and immediately after their involvement in the program

• Where appropriate, deliver 1:1 training slots to parents and carers who require this additional support due to e.g. those with additional needs, high levels of anxiety or a particularly complex situation (including sibling abuse)

• Keep accurate and appropriate records for every parent/ carer attending training and workshops

Monitoring and Evaluation 

• Ensure that robust monitoring and evaluation processes are in place to capture the experience of all parents and carers attending training and workshops

• Analyse evaluation data against programme aims and objectives to ensure outcomes are being met and to inform service developments

• Take responsibility for continuous improvement of processes to support the effective delivery of training and workshops for parents and carers

• Contribute towards reports for funders, and the We Stand Board of Trustees

Volunteer Training 

We Stand relies on a team of dedicated and skilled volunteers to help us deliver life-changing support to families impacted by child sexual abuse. We are committed to ensuring all volunteers have the information, resources and support they need to carry out their role effectively and have a positive experience during their time with the organisation. This includes via a comprehensive training and induction programme and ongoing professional development.

• Contribute to the recruitment and selection of new volunteers following a best practice volunteer recruitment process

Induction training programme 

• Oversee and coordinate an annual program of induction training for new and existing volunteers

• Lead on the delivery  of a 4-week programme to induct new volunteers

As an Employment Coach with our Employcare Project you will be supporting unpaid carers living in Manchester; providing support and coaching in order for them to re-enter paid employment or voluntary roles.  The successful candidates will manage a small caseload of carers and provide them with 1:1 support, helping them overcome barriers to employment and training.  You will be responsible for supporting them through every stage of their journey, enabling participants to address their barriers and realise their aspirations.

This role is subject to a Basic DBS check.

Of these, this role will involve working across three refuges in the borough of Haringey, in a dynamic and fast-paced environment.

About the Role

The primary role of a Family Support Worker is to provide effective, efficient, and supportive service to children and their mothers residing in refuge with Solace Women’s Aid. The staff member will lead on the development of a child and family-centred approach to work in the refuge. In so doing, they will:

• Develop and deliver a range of trauma-informed services to children and young people (0-17 years) and their mothers within the refuge and when they are resettled into the community.
• Ensure ongoing development of age-appropriate children’s activities.
• Ensure the completion of comprehensive assessments of family needs and risk of families, ensuring an integrated approach with children and adult services (internal and external)
• Promote ‘Integrated Working’ through internal and external mechanisms in partnership with colleagues and community partnerships.
• Coordinate the delivery of activities through session staff, volunteers, and student placements.

About You

The ideal candidate will have demonstrable experience of working with vulnerable children, young people, and/or families, as well as knowledge of the effects that domestic abuse can have on young people.

You will be familiar with Assessment, Action Planning, and Evaluation for families, with experience in maintaining records. You will also have the ability to work on your own initiative, as well as in partnership with other agencies or professionals, to promote family/child wellbeing

The successful candidate will be a resourceful development professional with an established network within the Trusts and Foundations community. Working closely with the Head of Development, the Trusts and Foundations Manager contributes to, and implements the Trusts and Foundations strategy to maintain and develop existing relationships, whilst proactively identifying and approaching new and innovative funders.

Attention to detail and the diligent stewardship of the RPO’s existing relationships are of paramount importance. The role requires excellent writing skills, experience of structuring persuasive cases for support, and securing significant grants from a broad range of trusts, foundations and grant making bodies. Reporting to an Engagement Team Manager you will recruit volunteers by promoting Re-engage’s services.

develop effective relationships with new and existing referrers such as social prescribers and community link workers.

support the wider Re-engage team in the delivery of our grant funded projects.

Engagement Officer tasks and requirements:

• Growing and developing our network of referral partners, including social prescribers and link workers, ensuring that Re-engage's work is promoted to people aged 75+ who are experiencing social isolation and loneliness.
• Utilise Re-engage's CRM (OPUS) to inform evidence-based, data-driven decision-making to develop effective engagement plans.
• Working closely with the service delivery team ensuring that the right people are recruited and engaged into the right roles, in the right place, and at the right times.
• Collaborating with the communications team to support the widest possible publicity for the charity’s needs through media and social media opportunities, local press, radio, TV, and online forums.
• Liaising closely with the fundraising team delivering against recruitment targets linked to grants and supporting them with persuasive proposals and grant applications, using acquired national knowledge and collecting case studies.
• Identifying speaking and presenting opportunities ensuring that Re-engage's work is promoted to referrers.
• Joint accountability, with colleagues, for growing the engagement of older people and the recruitment of volunteers into Re-engage's portfolio of services.

The Weir Link – a small and vibrant charity and community centre in SW12 (Clapham Park/Balham), are recruiting a Facilities and Bookings Co-ordinator to join their team.  This would be an excellent opportunity for an experienced administrator, looking for flexible, part time work, while making a tangible difference to their local community.  

Working in close collaboration with other members of the team, some examples of the role responsibilities include:

Facilities co-ordinator

- Liaise with cleaning, maintenance and building safety contractors to ensure the Centre is kept in a safe and orderly condition for all our users

- Organise regular testing of building safety systems, including the fire alarm system and fire drills

- General housekeeping duties, including managing utility companies, logging meter readings and ensuring records are kept updated

- Ensure the overall appearance of The Weir Link, both inside and outside, is in keeping with our vision to be a welcoming centre for everyone in our community

Bookings co-ordinator

- Manage our growing number of bookings and activities, both those at The Weir Link and other venues we may work with, from responding to enquiries in a timely manner, checking and updating The Weir Link diary, sending booking forms and invoices, checking payments and responding to feedback

- Manage attendance levels and data collection for those attending all The Weir Link’s activities

Person specification

We are looking for a motivated, organised and reliable individual with a “hands on” approach to these responsibilities, and other activities when required.  The successful candidate will be flexible, resourceful, efficient and committed to contributing in a meaningful way to our local community. 

Some experience which would set you up for success in this role, could include a background in managing facilities or venue organisation and/ or some finance or  marketing administration experience. 

Key skills required:

- Competent using the Microsoft Office suite – particularly Word and Excel

- Competent and experienced using Google software, specifically Google Calendar and Google Forms

- Confident communicating clearly and effectively by email

- Experienced with standard office practices, including printing and scanning documents

We are able to offer a flexible working pattern, which would comprise of 12-15 hours per week across three days a week. This would ideally be a Monday and then two further consecutive days, however this can be discussed for the right candidate. The hours can be between 9.30 and 4pm every day, with the possibility of hybrid working (combining office-based and remote working) during the school holidays.

This role would suit a parent or carer who would like their hours to work around the school day and have flexibility during school holidays.

The organisation has three main aims: to provide services for women, girls and children who have experienced men’s violence; contributing to ending male violence against women and girls, and to inform and influence policy and public awareness.

About the post
The Emma Project, Daria House and Jan’s Place are specialist services providing refuge and support services to women who have been subjected to domestic and/or sexual violence and abuse, including women who have been sexually exploited, including through prostitution and who also use substances problematically.
You will work closely alongside the refuges Team Leader and Service Manager to implement and deliver a trauma informed approach to refuge services.

​We need an exceptional People Team Advisor. This is a key post in supporting the management and staff of the FEC.
