This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a fast-growing and established health and social care charity. As a Grant and Community Fundraiser, you will play a pivotal role in our Fundraising team, helping us secure the funding necessary to sustain and enhance our vital services, primarily in the Bedfordshire area. You’ll be at the forefront of our Business Development strategies, identifying and capitalising on new funding opportunities to support our capacity-building initiatives and strategic ambitions.
The role offers flexible working arrangements, including the option to work from home, coupled with in-community engagements. There will be endless opportunities to work closely with a diverse network of funders, our dedicated frontline staff, participants, residents, and community members. This role is pivotal in cultivating relationships and elevating the visibility of our charity’s mission, to generate new and sustainable income streams.
This role offers variety and challenges for an experienced fundraiser who can hit the ground running.
Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday 9 - 5/5.30, hybrid working with travel across our services, which are based around London, Brighton, Kent, Essex, Luton, Bedford, Liverpool, and Nottingham. For this position, most of the travel will be within Bedfordshire. This role will be based from our Penrose Synergy office in Luton.

The Fundraising Team is currently the size of 3 (Yourself, the Grant Manager & Writer, and the Head of Fundraising, Marketing, and Communications). You will report to the Grant Manager & Writer.
We are part of the larger Business Development Team, which includes professionals specialising in Bids and Tenders, Sales, Marketing, and Communications. What we are looking for:
- Previous experience in a similar role with similar responsibilities, this can include in a fundraising and/or sales capacity which has direct transferrable skills.
- IT Proficiency, ability to learn new software programs, advanced knowledge in Microsoft, including Word, Excel, and Outlook
- Ability and willingness to travel to various services and locations for visits and events
- Ability to carry out research and lead on outreach and partnership building initiatives in various locations which can include locations of rural communities
- Proven ability to juggle multiple tasks and competing priorities within a fast-paced environment
- Understanding and/or practical knowledge of the social and societal marginalisation that can be attached to people who experience multiple complex disadvantages
OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
FUNDRAISING
- Be a point of contact for fundraising, ensuring a positive experience for funders and managing financial transactions to agreed fundraising policies and processes.
- Develop a regional Grant Programme, focusing on unrestricted income and feeding into fundraising management reporting.
- Identify, research, and communicate income and partnership opportunities, working proactively with colleagues across the Group to scope fundable initiatives that provide added value.
- Work alongside the team to develop high-quality grant funding applications, cases for support, and budgets. Complete the end-to-end process, ensuring all applications are thorough and competitive.
- Oversee grant reporting and invoicing, ensuring prompt fulfilment in line with all grant agreements and reporting requirements, liaising with relevant teams across the Group.
- Plan, implement and manage various campaigns and activities, which may include but are not limited to local events, national events, outreach, and fundraising opportunities.
PARTNERSHIP BUILDING
- Attend networking events to build engagement and partnerships with local and national organisations.
- Build a rolling calendar of charity of the year application deadlines. Provide excellent stewardship, using innovative ways to keep all parties engaged and informed of relevant news and updates by SIG.
- Support partners in fundraising endeavours and signposting to new and existing opportunities.

What we would like, but not essential:
- Previous experience in writing successful grant applications to Charitable Trusts and Foundations
- Previous experience working in a customer-facing role
- Professional Qualification in a relevant discipline which can include Marketing, English, Business Management
- Experience in a similar size organisation and/or charity sector organisation
- Confidence in presenting to varying audiences
- Proficiency in navigating online and offline fundraising tools and systems
- Knowledge of Health and Social Care, Best Practice, and the support needs of vulnerable people within society

As the new Community & Events fundraiser, your experience and skillsets and attributes will include :

- The ability to work autonomously and without direction, using own initiative.

AdviceUK makes a big impact. Its stakeholder, policy and advocacy work is across devolved nations as well as the UK. They support members, so it is easier for them to help their clients, and by directly influencing policy-makers, decision-makers and funders. This is an exciting time to join AdviceUK's growing team as they launch a new three-year strategy. The organisation will be making a significant investment in capacity, new support services and innovation to deliver the support and advice that members, the wider advice sector and their communities need.
The Funding and Programmes Manager will support members and the wider advice sector to access and secure grant and other funding directly with the purpose of sustaining advice services. The post holder will nurture positive relationships with funders and administer grant-funded programmes on behalf of funders ensuring programmes are supportive of the needs members and the communities they serve.
Key responsibilities
- Funder Relationship-Building: Foster and maintain relationships with grant-makers and other funders to make funding available to members and advice services, share insights to shape future funding, and develop new funder relationships that create income for AdviceUK and its members.
- Programmes and Project Management: Oversee the delivery of multiple projects, coordinate involvement of staff and external partners, ensure compliance with funder requirements, and maintain effective governance, risk management and monitoring.
- Project and Programme Development: Identify funding opportunities, develop funding bids and proposals, lead tenders for contracts, ensuring these new projects integrate with AdviceUK's strategic objectives.
- Data and Evidence Management: Evaluate projects to share best practices, conduct research and data analysis, support performance reporting, and ensure accurate and timely data entry.
The Funding and Programmes Manager will have at least 2 years' experience managing multiple time-limited projects and programmes in a similar role, and an understanding of the social welfare advice sector, the issues faced by advice providers and the communities they serve. The successful candidate will have experience of setting up and maintaining effective processes to monitor projects/programmes deliver funder requirements and agreed objectives, and experience of programme monitoring and evaluation. You will have experience of working with funders to support the development of their funding strategy and programmes, building successful bids for project/programme funding, and assessing and applying for government funding, contract and tenders at national and local level.
You will have the ability to build strong working relationships with peers, managers, members, partners and funders, with strong analytical, decision-making and organisational skills. You will be able to communicate clearly and concisely to a range of audiences. You will be able to use online reporting tools and CRMs and embrace new technologies and ways of working.
This is a home-based role. You will need to regularly attend meetings and events in London. There will be 4 all staff meetings a year, three in London and one outside of London. There may be out of hours work for which TOIL is granted.

The Role
FARA is looking to launch the charity's new fundraising activities programme and is looking for an experienced fundraising and individual giving manager to lead the creation and launch of this.
It is an exciting time for the charity, which helps disadvantaged children, young people, adults and their families in Romania. Building on the initial income opportunities and strategy development work done by fundraising consultants, you will be joining a marketing function with ambitious plans to transform our communications. You will work alongside colleagues across the whole organisation to deliver this work.
The Fundraising and Individual Giving Manager will be responsible for:
- Creating systems, structures, activities and messages designed to launch and grow income streams, predominantly from individual givers and community partners taking the charity’s fundraising income to six figures over three years.
- Using data to inform Individual Giving campaigns, creating powerful messaging to acquire, retain and upgrade donors through digital and offline methods.
- Creating and implementing methods of attracting and retaining people and community partners to donate and fundraise, ensuring a steady and growing stream of income.
- Identify and optimise any emerging and new fundraising opportunities to help grow income for the organisation
The Person
Are you entrepreneurial, innovative, personable, and collaborative, with experience developing and delivering fundraising programmes? Are you keen to get your teeth into a new challenge and create something from scratch?
The role requires a candidate with a strong background in building relationships and identifying and developing new fundraising messages, campaigns and activities from scratch. This is not a case of picking up a mature programme and running with it (although the organisation does have a small baseline of donors who have been giving for many years). The opportunity is all about creating, testing and learning – to diversify income sources at FARA, utilising the extensive network of supporters it has gained through its 40 charity shops across London.
You will need to be proficient in digital platforms, with experience in building a digital-focused approach to supporter acquisition and donor development. You will play a crucial role in nurturing relationships with individual supporters to make a difference to the lives of disadvantaged children, young people and adults in Romania.
The post-holder will need experience developing creative giving programmes and be excited by the prospect of pursuing new opportunities for the organisation by engaging with existing supporters—many of whom might only have ‘gifted’ the charity via donations of pre-loved clothes and other items to FARA shops.

We need an events manager who is adept at managing projects and events, working with our fundraisers and encouraging our supporters to get involved in our events such as our annual trek, the prestigious Care Sector Ball, and all the other events we’re involved in. The right person will have the confidence and persistence it takes to persuade, cajole, prod and encourage fundraisers to do as much as they can to raise funds for us. You need to be proficient at managing the admin that goes with events, including using fundraising platforms such as Just Giving and Enthuse to engage with fundraisers and provide regular reports on the income raised. We will also need you to organize hotel, travel, conference arrangements for the team.
You must be based in England, to help us keep travel costs down as much as possible. The role is home based, with travel to fundraising events, conferences and network meetings, and with travel every 10 weeks or so to central London for team meetings.
You must be a determined self-reliant professional though also a team player, to effectively coordinate and execute events and other activities, and be passionate about events management and fundraising to enable us to raise as much money as possible for the charity.

The Bike Project is looking for a new Fundraising Executive to join our team. This role supports all of our fundraising activity so will give the post holder exposure to all areas of fundraising from Major Doors to Corporate Partnerships, Events and Fundraising Appeals. Alongside this the role will manage the relationships and support given to our Community Fundraisers and our participants in London to Brighton and Ride 100 events.
We are looking for someone who is passionate about raising money to fund the work of The Bike Project. You will need to have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks/projects. The role holder will need to have experience working in customer service and be confident using digital platforms and apps to enhance working practices. Although desirable, fundraising experience is not essential as training will be provided.
Being a small charity, we work in an agile manner which allows for creative ideas to flourish and new ideas to be implemented quickly. We hold donation sessions weekly out of our London and Birmingham workshops, so there is opportunity to see the impact of your work first hand.

The Fundraising Training and Engagement Officer (Face to Face) will support the development, management, and optimisation of London’s Air Ambulance Lottery and Regular Giving programs which has phenomenal success via face-to-face fundraising. An exciting opportunity which will see the successful candidate working closely with the Operations Team, paramedics, doctors, and pilots to develop and deliver training to face-to-face fundraisers that brings the work of London’s Air Ambulance to life. The post holder will also work closely with external agency partners, as well as internal stakeholders and various teams within the charity.

VOICES are excited to be seeking our first full time fundraiser to support our growth and development. We are looking for an individual who has relevant sector experience, a good knowledge and understanding of fundraising and a commitment to working in a trauma informed way. As a survivor led organisation, we are looking for someone who shares our ethos and will be proactive in consulting with our Lived Experience Group(s).
You will work closely with the CEO to help secure the long-term future of VOICES, through expanding and diversifying our income generation.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

- Attend Finance Committee meetings and the Board of Trustees, reporting on fundraising and progress against the strategy.
- Help to grow the name of VOICES, through use of relationships, partnerships, marketing and communications.
- Work closely with the Centre Administrator to agree a planned approach to social media.
- Working with the VOICES team, consider the role of volunteers in VOICES – taking management responsibility for any fundraising volunteers.
- In line with our trauma-informed ethos, adopt a trauma-informed approach.
- Work with clients, including the Lived Experience Group, to hear their ideas for fundraising and enable their participation in events / volunteer opportunities where appropriate.
- Develop and maintain relationships with a variety of key stakeholders including Clients, funders (including trusts, companies, major donors), Trustees and volunteers.
