DSAP exists to advise the Diocesan Bishop and the Diocesan Chief Executive on the adequacy of the local safeguarding policies, in alignment with all national church and statutory procedures, and provide scrutiny of culture, working practices, and training arrangements for all diocesan and cathedral staff and office holders. The panel provides appropriate advice, guidance and support on case management and safeguarding requirements.
As chair of the panel, you will lead a dedicated team of safeguarding experts, specialists, and diocesan staff, drawing on their knowledge and experience to continuously improve our safeguarding practices.

We are looking for an expert who can bring their enthusiasm and knowledge of autistic learners with complex needs to join our team as our resident complex needs expert. You will work with a group of learners who have a combination of conditions and differences that make learning more challenging in all areas of life. It may be ADHD, Down’s syndrome, OCD or a genetic difference, but all our learners have the opportunity to make their life into what they want it to be. This role reports to the Aspirations Manager, and you will be responsible for the necessary work for your small group of learners. None of our groups are above 7 learners, all groups have support workers, and some have 1:1 support. Key duties and responsibilities of the role:
· Tutors Aspirations learners, leads the complex needs group and manages the staff within their group
· Supports learners needs and behaviours by creating and utilising positive behaviour support plans, risk assessments and staff’s knowledge of individuals within the group
· Organises, attends and takes a lead at EHCP reviews for their group, writes EHCP offers and provides professional reports when needed
- To promote good practice to upskill all relevant staff by using own training and knowledge, and is the resident complex needs expert
· Works as Deputy Designated Safeguard Lead (DDSL) for the complex needs group and stand in DDSL for Aspirations service when the Aspirations manager is absent
- Builds professional relationships with other agencies, provisions and professionals
- Builds good relationships with learners’ families/carers to make sure that they are involved (as appropriate) in developing learners’ skills and abilities
Person specification:
You will have:
· Experience teaching autistic learners and a good understanding of the complexities that come from having more than one diagnosis

We are seeking a qualified Specialist ISVA (Independent Sexual Violence Advisor) to join our Advocacy team at Respond. The role includes providing pro-active emotional, practical and advocacy support for adults with learning disabilities and autistic people with complex or multiple needs who have experienced any form of sexual violence and are engaging, (or considering engaging) with the criminal justice system. The ISVA will work across London to provide non-judgmental, trauma-informed emotional support, working in partnership with other London sexual violence support services.
Our ideal candidate will have experience in the ISVA role as well as a friendly and relational approach to working with clients. You will have the ability to build trusting relationships, work in an empowering and inclusive way and support clients to heal following sexual abuse and develop coping capacity. You will be a self-motivated individual who will engage with a wider range of people who have experience sexual violence, and other barriers to justice.

The work is delivered through a commitment to an anti-oppressive, feminist framework that strives to address additional barriers and meet the diverse range of survivors needs, understanding the specific support needs of each survivor. We are passionate about social justice and being part of dismantling systems and structures which oppress survivors, and Caseworkers play a key role in identifying current issues affecting survivors in London and opportunities for change.
As a Caseworker you will work with young women (18-30) who have experienced any form of violence against women and girls (VAWG), providing medium and long-term practical, emotional and advocacy support. You will amplify young women’s voices and create a non-judgemental and creative space where survivors are free to be their authentic selves, safely explore their rights, options and impact of their experiences, and make informed choices about their future. You will manage a caseload of young women, as well as lead in delivering our one-off drop-in specialist practical support to sessions to young women as part of the Voice and Choice Project.
About you
The ideal candidate will be experienced in providing specialist advocacy support to young people, have an excellent insight into the needs of survivors of VAWG and to be passionate about delivering creative face-to-face sessions to young people.
