The Hope Programme Bedfordshire is a Ministry of Justice supported Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) enabling victims and survivors of rape and sexual abuse to reduce their trauma and go forward to positive living.
Our services include a helpline, short term emotional support, counselling, pre-trial support before, during and after criminal and civil proceedings and training. We contribute to policy initiatives and strategies to improve services for all victims and survivors.
We are seeking trustees to serve on our Board, set the strategic direction of the services, support the management of our physical and financial resources, operations and structure, monitor our performance and establish ways we can widen and improve our services.
We aim to have a diverse board of trustees that reflects the needs of those we support. We welcome approaches from people of different ages, physical ability, sexual orientation, race and religious belief. The Hope Programme continues to innovate to support the changing choices and needs of our victims including those with refugee status, disabilities and diversity.
The role is for an initial three years appointment with an option on both sides for a second term. It is voluntary and unpaid but reasonable travel and expenses can be claimed. Training and mentoring are offered. Trustees are required to attend a minimum of 6 Board meetings per calendar year, an AGM and other events as necessary.

About the role:
This role is to cover Thames Valley and based working from home.
As a Senior Homicide Caseworker you will:
- Provide a high-quality, front-line service to bereaved people following Murder, Manslaughter or Infanticide, and deliver them a premium service with practical, emotional support using specialist commissioned services when supporting clients
- Supporting and supervising a small team of caseworkers to ensure a high quality, service user lead service is delivered to the bereaved
- Act as the named contact and manage a case-load
- Maintain multi-agency links with Police Family Liaison Officers (FLOs) and other relevant organisations that can help to progress identified needs, and ensure that bereaved people are central to all processes that concern them
- Determine the appropriate involvement of homicide trained volunteers on a case by case basis and oversee their work
- Make effective links with operational colleagues in their region including the Witness Service to ensure a seamless service to bereaved people
- Supporting applicable clients through domestic homicide reviews and advocating on their behalf were necessary
You will need:
- Experience of working with bereaved people, victims of violent crime or other highly vulnerable people
- Proven ability to manage a complex case load.

About the role:
This role is based at the Royal Sussex County Hospital 3 days per week, with the remainder of the week spent working in the community.
As a Health IDVA you will:
- Deliver excellent trauma informed support to victims & survivors of domestic violence & abuse in Brighton & Hove accessing hospital and health services
- Conduct comprehensive needs and risk assessments
- Provide safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support
- Participate in the Multi-Agency Risk Assessment Conference (MARAC), acting as the voice of the survivor and delivering on actions agreed within the MARAC
- Identify barriers to individuals in accessing domestic abuse support within health services, including acute and primary healthcare
- Work in partnership with all relevant hospital staff/teams and other health service providers to ensure that each survivor's needs are appropriately met
- Assist in delivering training, and provide consultancy and advice to other agencies as required
You will need:
- A thorough understanding of the issues faced by those experiencing domestic abuse
- Experience with assessing domestic abuse risk and taking appropriate action to safeguard children and vulnerable adults experiencing domestic abuse
- The ability to identify complex client needs, and develop and deliver holistic safety and support plans
- Experience of developing and delivering training/group work
- Effective organisational skills, including experience with planning, prioritising, managing crises and a caseload, and maintaining accurate and confidential case records
- Understanding and knowledge of and active commitment to promoting equal opportunities and diversity

MAIN PURPOSE OF THE JOB

Fundraiser at Elizabeth Fry Charity

We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced fundraiser to join our dedicated team and support Elizabeth Fry Charity as it continues to increase and develop the support it provides to women in the criminal justice system.
Elizabeth Fry Charity runs a 24 bed Approved Premises for women who are under supervision of the Probation Service. Residents at the Approved Premises have access to a range of purposeful activities aimed to support them to address issues that led to their offending and to develop the skills for them to lead an offending-free life in future. The Charity also provides an Outreach Service, supporting women who have moved on from the Approved Premises to the local area.
About the Role
This is a flexible role working remotely for 10 hours a week with attendance at the Charity’s premises in Reading approximately once a month. The postholder may also be required to attend meetings with potential and current funders as well as fundraising events held by the Charity.
The Charity’s main funding is through a contract with the Ministry of Justice to provide the Approved Premises. In addition, we currently fundraise to provide three additional members of staff to provide Substance Misuse, Housing and Outreach support to residents. Fundraising also enables the Charity to provide additional services to our residents including on site counselling and art therapy. You will be responsible for making sure funding is in place to enable these services to continue, communicating with funders to ensure they are kept updated about the impact of their support.
The postholder will promote the work of the Charity, ensuring that the website is kept up to date and that we are sharing stories about the positive impact of our work. You would also build the Charity’s profile on social media and support the Chief Executive in organising an annual Open Day and other events during the year.

About the Role
The Risk and Compliance Manager is an exciting new role within a growing Governance and Compliance team. You will be a key member of the team, providing expert information, advice, and guidance to ensure operational risk management and compliance practices and processes remain proportionate, effective and fit for purpose.
You will work closely with the Head of Governance, Risk and Compliance including deputising for oversight responsibilities related to compliance activities and risk management.
You will manage an effective compliance programme (particularly but not limited to data protection and fundraising compliance), working with stakeholders to strengthen skills and knowledge within teams, so that they can apply and embed pragmatic approaches which strengthen organisation-wide compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
You will manage the development and implementation of risk management frameworks and promote a culture of risk awareness.
Responsibilities include:
- Actively maintain and promote the charity’s Christian ethos and values.
- Manage all the legislative and regulatory compliance activities ensuring the effective implementation of robust compliance practices (particularly but not limited to data protection and fundraising compliance)
- Manage the effective development and implementation of risk management frameworks
- Effective management of compliance breaches, data incidents and complaints.
About You
You will be able to provide expert advice and guidance to ensure operational risk management and compliance practices and processes remain proportionate, effective and fit for purpose.
To flourish in this role, you'll need experience and knowledge of:
- Demonstrable knowledge of data protection, fundraising compliance, and risk management – with working knowledge across all the compliance areas within which the UK charity sector operates.

About the role
This is a part-time role (8 hours per week) to provide management accounting and budgeting support to our COO and team, including day-to-day liaison with external accountants and support to individual budget holders.
We're looking for a qualified or part-qualified accountant, or someone with equivalent experience.
