As part of the next phase of implementing a new organisational strategy with a view to further growth, Cycling UK are looking for a finance leader to support in day to day running of our finances as well as driving longer-term transformation and strategic ambitions.

The Role

Reporting into the Chief Operating Officer, the Head of Strategic Financial Planning & Control is a pivotal position within the Cycling UK team. Working as part of the leadership team within Cycling UK, this is an important role in leading the finance team and working to enhance the organisation’s longer-term strategic vision.

• Line management of the finance team members (4 reports) including supporting the development of all direct reports;
• Leading the preparation and implementation of a multi-year plan and annual budget aligned with our business  planning and programme management processes;
• Lead budget and forecast reviews at appropriate intervals in the financial year to ensure accurate and timely forecasts of income and expenditure;
• Collaborating with the Chief Operating Officer, Senior leadership team and Heads of department to develop and embed a robust finance strategy which supports the delivery of our organisational strategy and aligns with our growth aspirations;
• Develop and maintain an effective system of financial controls that ensure the safeguarding of charity assets and the reliability of the financial statements;
• Lead the preparation and production of the annual report and accounts;
• Oversight for all accounts payable and accounts receivable processes and ledgers;

Prior experience in the not-for-profit sector is desirable though not essential.

Currently in the middle of a major transformation programme, they are keen to secure some additional resource for the busy finance team that can lead them through year end.

Key responsibilities will include:

• Preparation of year end statutory accounts – financial reporting and analysis, trial balance, P&L and balance sheet.

· Holds an acounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA or CIPFA) part or fully qualified or qualified by experience.

· Has experience of working in or with the not-for-profit sector and housing sector.

Karibuni Children, a UK registered charity, works to help Kenyan children from some of the poorest backgrounds, to fulfil their potential and release themselves from the cycle of poverty. At any one time, we are supporting around 700 children across Kenya and our aim is to walk with the children through their whole education.  In addition to providing financial support to enable children to attend high-quality educational institutes, we work to reduce other barriers that may prevent those living below the poverty line from maximising their educational potential. The charity is seeking to recruit a UK Operations Manager to support the programme of work.  The successful candidate will be one of only two paid employees, working with the Trustees to lead the charity through the next phase of its development. 

Job Description

Salary: up to £30,000 – 34,000 full time equivalent depending on experience.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

Administration & Operations

 Fundraising

● Ensure postings to CRM are accurate and reconcile to financial systems

- Support the CEO in the development of a 2024/5 Business Plan that will support both short and long-term success

- Review the monthly management accounts, identifying trends in month and in year performance that may be a risk to the organisation

- Provide timely, accurate, and insightful financial analysis to support decision-making and drive organisation performance improvements

- Develop a robust audit program to demonstrate effective financial governance

The successful applicant will:

- Have significant demonstrable experience in finance within the charity sector, in a similar role

- Be fully qualified (hold a Professional Chartered Accountancy Qualification)

- Have demonstrable experience of excelling in audit and financial control

- Have strong technology skills, including computerised financial systems

- Have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

As Partnership Manager, you will take responsibility for managing a portfolio of partnerships. This will include leading key projects to deliver excellent partnership management and growing our relationship. You will make sure effective governance and monitoring mechanisms are in place as well as oversee budgets, income and expenditure. Important will be the ability to take on new partnerships from initial contract stage when needed.

You must have experience of account management in a commercial or charity setting coupled with a deep understanding of the corporate sector. Good at building relationships, you will also possess excellent networking, relationship-building, communication and presentation skills. An effective project manager, you will have a firm understanding of conservation and sustainability issues and trends too. Experience in a corporate or consultancy environment as well as being comfortable working with working with partner agencies would be an advantage.

The Richmond & Hounslow Methodist Circuit is looking for a reliable and committed individual to support the life and work of our group of churches in SW London. They will play a crucial role in ensuring the proper organisation and management of our finances to enable our mission.

This is a new role for the Circuit, replacing a volunteer. In designing the position, the Circuit has aimed for maximum flexibility to secure the best candidate for the role. Initially, the person will need physically to attend some meetings to familiarise themselves with the Circuit's operations and ensure a smooth hand-over. For the right person, though, there will be considerable flexibility about how the duties are fulfilled in the longer-term. It is specifically expected that the role will allow for flexible scheduling to accommodate other responsibilities, including caring.

The Richmond & Hounslow Circuit comprises seven churches in southwest London. As with all Methodist circuits, these churches function autonomously yet collaborate closely in their ministry and mission efforts. The Circuit oversees joint resources, including staff and property. Presently, it employs four full-time ordained ministers, one full-time lay pastor, and a part-time administrator. As a part of the Methodist Church, its mission is “to respond to the gospel of God’s love in Christ and to live out its discipleship in worship and mission”. To fulfil this mission, the Circuit fosters a broad spectrum of ministry within its congregations, focusing on worship but also engaging in outreach to the homeless, asylum seekers, new parents, and various other groups. The Chief Officer will provide strategic guidance and oversight, ensure operational efficiency and sustainability, and maintain the organisation's commitment to serving disabled people in our community.
