Reporting to the Chief Operations Officer, and working with 2 Employability Leads and 3 Volunteer Managers, in this role you will lead on the volunteer strategy and develop a volunteer recruitment and retention plan.

You will design and deliver a safeguarding policy training plan for all staff, as Safeguarding Lead.

You will create a series of employability programmes based on our flagship FareChance model, supporting NEET people.  And you will build and work with our volunteer, employability and warehouse teams to ensure they have the skills, support and training needed to manage the volunteeer workforce and deliver the employability programmes across the charity.

You will line manage 3 volunteer managers, based in St Judes and Bedminster in Bristol and in Sisna Park in Plymouth, as well as 2 employability leads based in Bedminster and inner city Bristol, and any future employability staff based din Plymouth.

The Hepatitis C Trust has developed projects nationally whereby peers use their lived experience of injecting drug use and hepatitis C, to provide education and training to service users and staff in drug and alcohol, hostel and homeless services, increasing hepatitis C awareness, access to testing and referral to treatment for people living with hepatitis C.

Working in partnership with hepatitis C clinical teams, drug and alcohol services, homeless service providers, primary care and community pharmacies, and targeting marginalised and disadvantaged communities, the post will coordinate delivery of educational workshops, hepatitis C testing and harm reduction interventions to ensure that service users are referred and supported through hepatitis C treatment and care. 

This post will require extensive travel across the region and the post holder is required to hold a clean driving licence and have their own vehicle for work related travel.

We are looking for two Community Energy Engagement Advisers to join our Retail and Cadent teams to deliver energy support sessions in local communities using the Scope retail stores in the North or South regions.

As Community Energy Engagement Adviser, you will be empowering individuals and families through workshops and one-to-one support. You will train retail staff and volunteers to engage with individuals and families, with a particular emphasis on energy advice and support.

The service will help customers through their unfair extra costs and additional vulnerability to fuel poverty. 

The successful candidate must pass an Enhanced DBS check

Events Fundraiser

Salary: £23,000-£28,000 (depending on experience)

MRF National Events Programme

The MRF National Events Fundraiser is responsible for a significant proportion of our events income with hundreds of runners each year taking on the challenge of participating in iconic races such as TCS London Marathon and A J Bell Great North Run.

Many of our race participants join Team MRF for deeply personal reasons, having had first-hand experience of the disease. Without Team MRF runners we would not be where we are in the race to defeat Meningitis, they are fundamental to our work and have been so since our early days as a charity.

The National Events Fundraiser is an enjoyable role at MRF within a very successful fundraising team, which last year raised over £500,000 by supporting hundreds of runners on Team MRF.

You will need to be an advocate for MRF’s work to defeat meningitis, enabling people to achieve their goals and achieving the best for the Charity. It is through the determination of everyone involved with the national events programme that we are able to deliver a number of our goals as a charity. You will harness that passion to help each runner succeed and understand what a difference they make along the way.

With many different elements to the role from planning, marketing, stewardship and event delivery you will need to be flexible and adaptable. This isn’t a fully desk-based job, as at different points of the year you will get the chance to meet Team MRF runners face to face by attending the events themselves and delivering celebratory post-race receptions.

With large teams of runners across a rolling annual events programme you must feel comfortable in managing deadlines, overlapping plans and keeping on top of supporter communications. Whilst we have systems in place to support this, our ideal candidate is someone who enjoys taking responsibility for their own workload.

This a fun role that sees the events through from start to finish and a great opportunity for the right candidate.

About the role:

Kinship is in our third year of delivering the first national peer support service for kinship carers in England. We are looking for a new Associate Director of Peer Support and Community to build and develop our model and to take the team to the next phase of growth and impact.

Your first priority will be to oversee delivery of the Department for Education national Peer Support Service contract in England. You will lead the development of our hub and spoke model, with an enhanced offer of national resources and support together with a continued focus on on-the-ground support for kinship carers to set up and sustain a network of peer support groups. You will ensure all members of the team have clarity and are empowered to meet new targets and ways of working.

The role will also lead on the strategic development of peer support approaches in Wales (for which we are seeking funding), ensuring innovation and good practice is shared across the nations.

Kinship peer support groups are powerful levers for change in local, regional and national ecosystems. Your team will ensure that every kinship carer in England and Wales has access to a peer support group, or support to set up and create their own. The team will be purposeful about offering developmental support to all kinship peer support groups, including independent groups, ensuring they remain or become sustainable. And that they have resources, training and peer networks to support this.

Reflecting our strategic focus on developing our Kinship Community of more than 10,000 kinship carers across England and Wales, you will lead a new community strategy, co-ordinating the development of opportunities for community connection and community power. This will include taking leadership for developing the Kinship model of community engagement and integrating across all our ‘in person’ and digital services and activities.

You will ensure a collaborative approach with services, alignment with national and local campaigning activity, and work closely with marketing and communications colleagues to support kinship carer reach and engagement with our community offer.

We’re taking an integrated approach to our services, so you’ll collaborate well across teams to ensure that support groups and their leaders have easy access to high quality advice, information and training. The team will need to work closely with colleagues delivering our new training and support contract, funded by the Department for Education.

• Significant experience of leading the development and delivery of peer support services.

What you will be doing:

• By adopting a flexible and creative approach, you will enable young people to improve their confidence and wellbeing, supporting them to access and sustain employment and/or training. This might include meeting young people in cafés, parks, or even gyms! 
• Working in partnership with social services, and other support agencies, you will form part of a passionate team of people surrounding each young person, providing holistic and specialist support adapted to meet the needs of each individual.
• Being well organised and efficient, you will effectively record, and evidence outcomes achieved by young people, ensuring safe working practice, and contributing to our effort to secure future funding of the project.

Contract details: 

• Hours per week: 37.5
• Contract type: Fixed Term (12 months) 
• Pay: £28,770 - £30,296 per annum (NJC scale points 17-20, starting at the bottom of the scale)
• The location: You will be based in Kingsley Hall, close to Bristol’s main train and bus stations as well as the vibrant city centre. However, as these roles are based in different locations there is an expectation to work from a specific local authority at times. This Coach role will work across Bristol and BANES.

The For Baby’s Sake Trust is seeking a Director of Finance and Business Development to join their leadership team during a crucial period of growth. As the Director of Finance and Business Development, you will be responsible for leading change and developing strategies for growth and sustainability. The role involves creating new business opportunities and ensuring strong financial oversight.

The position offers a chance to work with a dedicated team in an award-winning charity that makes a significant, positive impact on families affected by domestic abuse. The Director of Finance and Business Development will be part of the Leadership Team, working together with the CEO and Director of Operations.

This full-time role, reporting to the CEO, comes with a permanent position and a salary of £75,000. It also offers the flexibility of working from home with occasional travel.
