Job Purpose:

• Contribute to hyh’s overall Fundraising strategy as a member of the Fundraising Team
• Have day to day responsibility for the Individual Giving income stream
• Manage a portfolio of existing Individual Giving supporters, providing exceptional supporter care and building relationships, stewarding and nurturing existing donors.
• Improve supporter retention and maximise donors’ lifetime value to hyh
• Manage, develop and lead on the use of hyh’s CRM effectively to segment data and make insight-led decisions. This includes developing new reports, liaising with the external CRM consultant to make improvements, writing up procedures and training members of the team in best practice.
• Acquire and develop new donors through solicitation and stewardship plans using a supporter journey programme to build engagement and loyalty.
• Develop marketing and comms materials through digital and other channels to deliver the programme.
• Maximise all opportunities to develop regular giving, appeals, one-off occasion donations, in-mem and legacy

The purpose of this job is to contribute to the delivery of Mind's media strategy in Wales.

This includes securing target levels of media coverage and building and maintaining contacts with Welsh and English language journalists across national, local and trade media in Wales. Raising Mind Cymru's profile, promoting the work of Mind and the local Mind network in Wales and improving media portrayals and public perceptions of mental health issues.

As Senior Media and PR Officer (Wales) you will be a part of the Mind Cymru directorate and report to the Head of Communications, Marketing and Media (Wales). You will also work closely with the Mind Media and PR team, in particular the Head of News, in Mind's Social Change directorate.

You will devise and implement media strategies including press releases, celebrity engagement, photo and filming opportunities and digital content for organisational campaigning, policy and profile-raising priorities in Wales. You will also handle reactive enquires on the news desk, provide media support to our network of local Minds and shops and provide support with reputational risk issues.

-To provide an effective service to media professionals, including journalists and producers, by coordinating Mind's response to media enquiries and assisting and advising other Mind Cymru staff when handling media enquiries.

-To cultivate new and nurture existing media contacts, building Mind Cymru's credibility and establishing effective working relationships with journalists across Welsh and English language media in Wales.

-To devise and implement proactive media plans to support Mind's campaigns and promote the work of the federation, working in an integrated way with programme leads across the charity to identify and maximise key opportunities to use the media as a vehicle to influence policy and decision making.

-To work alongside Mind Cymru's policy and campaigns colleagues to develop media responses to major Welsh Government announcements and high-profile policy issues, producing press releases, quotes and social media posts and briefing/advising spokespeople including the Director of Mind Cymru and other members of the senior leadership team.

-To make sure the media team involves people with direct experience of mental health problems through identifying case studies from a full range of diverse backgrounds and that appropriate advice and support is given to people involved with Mind's media work. Including celebrities and influencers with experience of mental health.

-To organise media interviews as required with Mind Cymru Director, other Mind Cymru spokespeople and service users, providing them with full pre- and post-interview briefings.

-To provide advice to Mind Cymru staff, local Minds, shops and other relevant individuals and organisations on how to maximise media opportunities.

-To represent and promote Mind's media function at external events and meetings when required.

Stewardship and Donor Engagement

Manage donor stewardship to provide personalised and engaging communications, including:

• Producing supporter materials.
• Building a thanking programme that offers a personal and engaging donor experience.
• Collaborating with colleagues to identify individual stories for impactful campaign content.
• Ensure all activities and contacts are managed through the charity’s CRM system.
• Maximise gift aid opportunities.

Campaign and Material Management

Work closely with the Communications Manager to:

• Create campaigns.
• Generate publicity opportunities e.g. radio, newspaper, online etc.
• Engage ambassadors and campaign specific ambassadors.
• Collect and draft beautiful stories, testimonies and case studies that engage supporters.
• Manage the production of supporter materials.

Lead the charge in:

• Coming up with new ideas and initiatives to bolster individual giving.
• Managing a continuous cycle of testing for new channels and techniques for acquisition and retention, based on audience insight and sector trends.

 General:

• Collaborate and communicate well with team members and particularly line manager.

Role Requirements

We are looking for the right person to join the team – this could be someone with experience or someone who is willing to learn and has a strong transferrable skill set.

You will have:

• Effective campaign copy writing and ability to translate ideas into design briefs.
•  A minimum level of skill in graphic design (e.g., InDesign, Photoshop, Canva). 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate with diverse audiences in friendly and welcoming way in keeping with WONDER’s approach to empowerment.

Desirable skills and experience:

Working alongside the Community Fundraising Manager the role will be responsible for being proactive in engaging local communities to maximise income generation by developing a plan to gain more supporters. You will be responsible for growing income by developing and maintaining relationships with volunteers, schools and other community groups.

About the role

• Grow income from Community Fundraising through phoning and visiting local Groups, schools & individuals, supporting existing supporters and promoting new fundraising initiatives
• Manage and grow income from collection pots and coordinate a collection of these pots on a regular basis
• Support our fundraising groups and supporters and generate publicity for their activities
• Manage Just Giving and other on-line giving sites for community events, and ensure that donors and participants are thanked in a timely and appropriate manner
• Co-ordinate volunteer support for community events where this is required
• Handle general telephone and personal enquiries regarding donations or other fundraising issues

About you

• Proven experience of community fundraising and volunteer management
• Significant understanding of relational fundraising and relational management principles
• Managing and updating budget/financial information to achieve income and expenditure targets
• Effective project management experience to achieve agreed delivery and outcomes
• Excellent interpersonal skills, communication skills, and organisation skills
• Proven ability in building relationships both internally and externally
• Ability to produce written reports and meet deadlines
• Confident in networking and operating at senior levels

We’re looking for a New Partnerships Manager to join our Corporate Partnerships Team.  If you’re experienced in winning and developing company relationships that are mutually beneficial, raising significant funds and successfully creating awareness in the corporate world for a charitable cause, then we would love to hear from you!  

About the role

This role is ideal for those keen to further develop their skills and experience in managing and developing partnerships for a charity that has a long history in supporting the 10 million+ people in the UK who live with arthritis. You will be engaging with corporates to identify areas of mutual, long-term interest, working with our high calibre teams to create compelling proposals from a wide variety of cases for support. Your role will be essential to establishing new corporate partners and stewarding towards longer term support for our vision - a future free from arthritis.
