Mare Street is a 68 bed, high support hostel working with clients experiencing multiple disadvantage. It is a busy, fast-paced environment providing an opportunity for Project Workers to gain broad experience of multi-agency work, safeguarding and incident management alongside the Complex Needs Worker based at the site and a variety of in-reach services.  The staffing structure comprises two Senior Project Workers in addition to a Manager and Deputy, providing future progression opportunities for the right candidate.

1 x Support Worker – Women’s Hostel, North London (* Women Only)
30 bed hostel providing an invaluable (and unique within our region) single-sex provision to women.  Project Workers within this service will have the opportunity to work alongside our Domestic Abuse Navigator, Complex Needs Team and local specialist services including Pause and Open Doors. This role will particularly suit candidates with experience of or an interest in creative, trauma-informed work with women experiencing multiple disadvantage. The role is predominantly Monday to Friday 9-5, working one weekend per month (Bank Holidays also included in work rota).

The day to day of this role involves working with colleagues in the People & Culture Directorate, and across the rest of the organisation to ensure that all who engage with our work are not put at significant risk of harm, and that where concerns arise an appropriate response happens. The role also supports the People Team in our work on staff wellbeing. The role has a human rights impact by enabling a culture where staff, activists, volunteers, board members and the public can engage with our work on human rights in a safe environment.

About The Role

This is an exciting role working within a pioneering new project, which will complement and support the work of the Pan-London Navigators in helping clients with an extensive history of rough sleeping to sustain accommodation in the community and build a new life away from the streets. It is an opportunity to develop your skills working in a dynamic environment within a highly experienced team.

In this role you will:

• Work alongside Navigators to support clients on the LNT cohort who are moving into tenancies to set up home, build independent living skills and establish meaningful connections to help them settle in their accommodation long-term
• Lead on pre-tenancy work and tenancy sustainment support, ensuring that clients are able to stay on top of their bills, benefits and other tenant responsibilities
• Organize “Community Club” outings with the rest of the Housing Led team to create an empowering and safe social space for residents to interact with each other

Working hours are Monday – Friday, 9am-5pm.

Sense has a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our Fundraising team as our Statutory Fundraising Manager. This is a 6 month fixed term, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week, based between home and our offices in Kings Cross, London.

The successful candidate will be responsible for leading statutory fundraising at Sense. This includes both new business work and managing relationships with existing supporters. You will be working closely with the Head of High Value Partnerships, the CEO, and senior operational colleagues, the post holder will create a strategy in this area and collaborate with operational teams to develop new programme models and processes to drive growth.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement a fundraising strategy to maximise income from statutory and lottery bodies such as NHS England, the Arts Council and National Lottery Community Fund. Statutory funding has been identified as a growth area at Sense Work with senior stakeholders, including the CEO, Directors of Operations and Finance teams, to develop and deliver compelling funding bids for statutory and public sector funders
• Manage relationships with statutory and public sector funders, including taking responsibility for narrative and financial reporting, and coordinating all stakeholder contact
• Specific responsibility for managing and reporting against statutory income and expenditure budgets
• Financial and programme reporting and database management
• Ensure compliance with the Data Protection Act, the Chartered Institute of Fundraising’s Code of Practice, and any other regulatory frameworks that may be introduced

Key skills and experience

• A track record of securing income from a range of statutory sources, including six figure grants (essential) - success at the seven figure+ grant level (desirable)
• Experience of working with teams to develop proposals in line with organizational priorities, including developing robust project monitoring and evaluation plans.
• Experience of leading relationships with external funders, in particular government departments and lottery bodies
• Experience of compiling narrative and financial reports for statutory funders
• Experience of setting and managing budgets in line with organizational priorities.
• Understanding of tendering and contracting processes
• Excellent standard of literacy and numeracy and IT fluency
• Evidence of own continuing professional development
• Commitment to comply with the principles of GDPR and maintain confidentiality at all times
• Knowledge of the issues Sense works on, or a willingness to develop an understanding of complex disabilities
