We’re looking for someone with a passion for supporting and empowering others to join our collaborative and radically inclusive team at Exeter Students' Guild.
Our team of Student Advisors work to ensure that students are able to access free, independent and confidential advice on issues that affect their university experience, so that they are empowered to advocate for themselves, and to help students Love Exeter.
You will empower students to understand their rights, to identify and access appropriate sources of support, and to navigate processes and procedures that can be complex and challenging at times. The role plays a key part in ensuring students have relevant information and resources through the provision of advice casework and individual advocacy.

About the role
This vacancy is for a University Access Officer to work in the West Midlands across up to 4 schools (maximum) along with working remotely; exact school location(s) to be confirmed at interview. Our schools are shown on a map of The Access Project schools on our website. Access to own transport or reliable transport would be ideal. The University Access Officer works with school staff at all levels, volunteers, and with the rest of The Access Project’s team to ensure that the delivery of the programme is optimised.
Role responsibilities
Some of our schools undertake our Accelerate model, which includes mentoring and coaching. Other schools also have tutoring included on our Accelerate Plus model. Depending on the model in the schools you are based in, role responsibilities will include:
Accelerate
- Engage with students in school and enrol them onto the programme
- Assess student progress towards being able to make successful university applications
- Upload information onto the Salesforce database (training is provided)
- Support the Volunteering team with the management of volunteer coaches to ensure they have a positive experience of the programme
- Work with school staff to ensure their cooperation and timely completion of activities contributing to the smooth running of the programme
- Chair and present at school meetings with Senior Management to report on programme progress.
- University Access Officers support the volunteering team by helping to deliver volunteer training sessions, and attending university site visits, which take place on occasional Saturdays and weekday evenings (paid time off is provided).

All the above responsibilities, with the addition of:
- Driving student attendance to tutorials and devise innovative solutions to encourageattendance in partnership with school stakeholders.

- Manage students’ relationships with tutors and attendance to tutorials through weekly monitoring of systems, emailing and making phone calls

Training and Development
You will be provided with regular monthly training so that you can develop your skills and succeed in the role. There is support from your line manager (Programme Manager), as well as guidance from more senior University Access Officers and the wider University Access Officer team across The Access Project. There are opportunities for progression, including several additional responsibility roles which are available for UAOs to apply for once they have completed their probationary period successfully.

This is an exciting job opportunity to join a dynamic and committed team in a front-line role to support and deliver the activities and services of elop’s LGBTQ+ Children & Young People’s Service.
In this role you will have opportunity to design and deliver innovative youth support programmes, groups & other activities; provide LGBTQ+ affirmative support, guidance and mentoring on a one- to- one basis; work with our wider family work programme, support families with LGBTQ+ children and deliver work in schools to students & teaching staff.
You will have lead responsibility for our LGBTQ+ Young Peoples Service, including promotion, & administration, along with the induction, support & supervision of sessional staff & volunteers.
Initially you will be working remotely via home-based working whilst elop relocates its offices & centre transitioning back to fulltime in-person working & service provision during 2024. Some services are in person in East London.
Full Time: 37 hours per week
You must be available to work Tuesday evenings & once a month on a Sunday afternoon. There will be other evenings and occasional other weekend working required.

This role supports the delivery of METRO’s groups for LGBTQ+ young people, alongside a Lead Youth Worker. The successful applicant will work with the Youth Group Lead to deliver sessions, promote the group and complete administrative tasks associated with the groups. The role sits in METROs vibrant Youth Domain Team, where we are all motivated by creating safer spaces for all LGBTQ+ and questioning young people to thrive.
Programme
METRO youth groups provide safe, social spaces for LGBTQ+ young people to meet and receive support from youth workers and their peers.
The groups provide a structured programme of activities which is co-designed with young people. The programme addresses key areas such as mental health and wellbeing, sexual health, drugs and alcohol awareness, as well as rights for young LGBTQ+ people. The programme supports with employment, study, life skills, and healthy living.
The groups also provide opportunities to connect and participate in cross-group events such as half-term events, Prides, Youth Summits, and other opportunities. To support this staff is required to occasionally change their working pattern to other evenings and weekend work. Employees are offered sessional work as and when there is a need in the domain.
Role
This role will primarily be posted at METRO’s weekly “Snap” LGBTQ+ group in Bromley for 16–24-year-olds. The group is delivered in person. The role will occasionally support cross-group events and outings as per agreement. METRO Youth workers are often offered extra sessional work to provide cover in other locations across south London. Staff travel expenses outside of regular place of work is covered by METRO.

Main purpose of job: To work in the Navigator team supporting individuals who have or are experiencing sexual violence and or sexual abuse. As a first contact worker, you will act as a gateway to both specialist counselling and advocacy services and additional specialist support services in Essex. The support you deliver will help individuals on their pathway to wellbeing, recovery, and social inclusion through building trusting and collaborative relationships. You will guide users to make informed decisions about their own wellbeing, maximising their independence and engaging in appropriate community or clinical resources/interventions.
You will work within a team of first contact navigators under the supervision of a service lead. You will be highly motivated and dedicated, have strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision.

Salary:£24,496 - £26,845 per annum.
Contract: This contract is until 31st March 2026, with the potential to extend if funding is continued.
Hours: 35 hours per week.
Place of work: CARA premises in Colchester and some remote home working if a suitable environment is available. Some travel to other locations in Essex may be required, particularly during the induction period.

Job Description
The First Contact Navigators play a central role in the CARA team, ensuring that our service users and other agencies receive a high-quality service from the moment of first contact. You will work as part of a wider team of First Contact Navigators across Esse and the post liaises with clients, the CARA team and external agencies, providing advice, support and information.
The First Contact Navigator will engage with individuals who are experiencing, or who have experienced, sexual violence and or sexual abuse who require information, signposting and short-term support. You will be the first contact and conduct first meetings, managing your own caseload and co-ordinating personalised support for individuals on their pathway to wellbeing. You will have strong communication, interpersonal and negotiation skills with the ability to work under minimal supervision. You will support people who use CARA services to make informed decisions about their wellbeing, maximising their independence and engaging in appropriate community or clinical resources. You will work collaboratively with service users, the CARA team and other professional agencies to navigate and coordinate services.
The main responsibilities of the post are:
· To act as a first point of contact for new referrals and enquiries, providing information, emotional support, advice and signposting.
· To complete first contact calls and assessments with clients over the telephone.
· To ensure information about new referrals/enquiries is accurately recorded on CARA’s database in real time.
· To work collaboratively and build trust with service users, agencies, personal and professional support networks to collate relevant information to effect individualised support requirements.
· To assess and engage service users not currently engaged in appropriate specialist sexual violence services.
· To seek and respond to referrals from a variety of internal and external sources.
· To assist survivors and relatives/supporters of survivors in understanding the range of resources and services available to them.

The TLG Therapeutic Counsellor will be present each week in the school, providing specialist trauma aware care for these children, whilst supporting staff and parents too.

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Community Wellbeing Support Worker to join our Flintshire Wellbeing service. About the team
Shelter North East has been based in Newcastle for over 25 years and we provide advice across 12 local authorities We have an advice team, a legal team, support services which are made up of a Housing First project, along with a DIYSA service and hub administrators. As an Engagement Worker, you will be pivotal in delivering Shelter’s purpose to defend the right to a safe home by enabling those we assist to enforce their housing rights. The purpose of the Mental Wellbeing Coordinator role is to manage and lead the development and delivery of peer support services via our Grassroot organisation partners in the Mental wellbeing programme addressing health inequalities in the borough of Haringey including managing and supporting our Grassroot organisations to deliver 1-2-1 wellbeing activities a week for their respective communities.
This Mental wellbeing coordinator role is part of the Haringey mental wellbeing programme, which is community based mental wellbeing support service, supporting individuals with moderate mental health problems. This role will also include outreach into the community working alongside the Grassroots organisations to ensure the successful delivery of these weekly wellbeing activities. The Mental Wellbeing Coordinator is to ensure that all services are delivered together in a seamless manner to support service members across the borough.
